  1. Good move. Like the player but can't afford $5M for a back up who played 35 snaps all year. He wasn't even the third TE in heavy sets. Edwards played that role. I like Morse coming back for one more year. He's not great but he is good enough. An extra pick gives Beane some flexibility early on day 3. Good spot to grab an extra OL, S, and DT. Maybe burn some of these late round picks for a guy that fell past round 3.
  2. It's certainly in the running. Top 3 have to be Hershel Walker, Deshaun Watson and Wilson... Hard to think of any more worse than these three. Although Bills pulled off some great ones including OJ Simpson and Tom Cousineau ultimately becoming Jim Kelly. Possibly. I thought he played ok down the stretch. He is certainly better than at least 10 of the starting QBs that played last year. He will start somewhere. Pitts, Chicago, LV, New England, Atlanta, and New Orleans are all places he could walk in and start even if it meant the QB of the future sat for a year.
  3. He's still a very good QB. Problem is, he is a locker room cancer. One day all the true stories will come out.
  4. Gotcha chief! Well they didn't do anything in 2017 because him wasn't there...lol
  5. So you are saying while Beane was under contract with the Panthers he was conspiring with McDermott on who to draft in 2017? And then following along this line of thinking that would make Beane also complicit in passing on drafting Mahomes. What you are suggesting would be the biggest scandal in NFL history. Far worse that spygate or deflategate.
  6. Can you define SB run for us? Even the biggest homers on here would hardly claim getting bounced out of the division round in the playoffs three years in a row(twice at home) as SB runs. Obligatory Beane didn't draft in 2017 comment...sorry
  7. Hopefully he's still trying to convince Pegula to can McDermott and hire Belichick.... Sorry couldn't resist....I kid I kid...
  8. Only 72, so sad! He was the best. He and Clayton defined what it was to be an insider and helped make possible careers for future generations.
  9. Yeah I agree but their DL is already pretty good. I guess I put them after the other ones because I don't have any specific players to target. Maybe Tyron Smith as it looks like Dallas is going to let him go. He is still very good and can play either OT spot probably for a few more years.
  10. I would trade a 3rd for Russell Wilson. Draft Marvin Harrison Sign Mike Evans to s 3 yr deal Sign Henry to a 2 year deal Keep Jones as a backup for one more year Use rest of the cap and draft on OL and DL
  11. Exactly! The second outside WR should be the fourth in targets behind Diggs, the slot WR, and then the TE position. He should have the highest TD/rec and Yds/rec rate. He should be your explosion guy. Not a high volume catch guy. When Davis was at his best that is what he was. I think the KC playoff game changed the philosophy at OBD. They decided that Davis could be a true WR1a and he just is not. He doesn't run all the routes, he doesn't run his routes well, and his hands were suspect. Let Shakir be Beasley 2.0. Between him and Kincaid they can get 125-140 catches playing out of the slot. Draft your WR#2 this year. Let him play opposite Diggs and enjoy single coverage his entire rookie year. Groom him to be WR1 in a year or two.
  12. Hard pass. Get younger and cheaper at WR
  13. Draft chart says if you drop say 12 spots from 28 to 40, that is a net value of 160 points. 160 points is mid to late 3rd round pick. It can be done. Bills might need to kick in one of their late day 3 picks to make the math work.
  14. 100% agree. I'd rather trade out of the bottom of the first round and get an extra day 2 pick. I dont care about the 5th year option now. Allen's best years will be gone in 5 years. Need cheap talent infusion now.
  15. I'd be ok with edge in round 1. WR is deep. They can find an impact WR in round 2.
  16. Why release him? Makes no sense. You can trade him and get the same cap savings if you really want the cap room over the player.
  17. I will take a few Lombardi's and the players hating Pegula
  18. I was an econ major in college. The answer is either it goes up, goes down, or in most cases it depends. In this case it depends. If he gets to the SuperBowl and his defense collapses again, there is a 13 second repeat, or he botches the game management then I would fire him and hire Belichick the next day. If they just lose and it is not coaching related, then he comes back for 2025. The Tony Dungy parallels with this guy are just so disheartening. It will take Allen willing this team to a playoff run and SuperBowl championship to overcome McDermott. Then McDermott can thank his God like Dungy did even though we all know this team is all about our savior Josh Allen!
  19. No thanks. Draft two WRs this year. Get young and cheap.
  20. It is an interesting proposal and I would like to see the NFL try it in a couple seasons of preseason games before actually implementing it. It seems like it would be safer. I am generally not a fan of more special teams impact on games. I want less. KC probably doesn't win the SuperBowl if some scrub gunner doesn't let the ball hit his foot on a punt. Do I really want to see Josh Allen score a TD only for the bottom feeders on the roster to give up a kickoff TD return on the very next play? I'd be fine if they just did away with the kickoff and did something like the 4th and 25 as an option instead of an onside kick.
  21. 100% agree. He has been awful for a few years now Lol..Berman has been a caricature of himself for almost a decade now.
  22. Perfect analysis! I would only add one thing to your last paragraph. The two parties may agree to a lower salary but also build in performance bonuses so the player can earn back the total of his previous deal. This is exactly what White and Beane should do. If they cut White, his value in free agency may be very little. So he would be wise to lower his salary this year, take it in a lump sum and then add some performance escalators. Otherwise he gets cut, Bills take the dead cap hit but save overall cap space, and White probably has to wait until next season to sign a practice squad deal coming off two major injuries.
  23. It's called dead money for a reason. Once you pay the signing bonus you have to account for it. That is done over the length of the remaining years on the contract. A restructure can be done anytime but it doesn't impact the dead money that needs to be accounted for at some time. A guy can agree to a pay cut instead of getting cut. Morse did this a couple years ago. They may do the same with White instead of just cutting him. That can lower his cap figure for this year because it is salary money.
  24. I read that article and I was shocked to read that Don Banks died at age 57. I guess I just did not realize he was gone. His Banks Shots column was a frequent read for me back in the day. I assumed he had retired. I liked King. He was a bit of a Patriot homer but he was fair. He liked Buffalo especially the training camp atmosphere that has somehow transcended owners, coaches, GMs and Presidents of football operations.
