  1. Klein is better than Dodson and has shown to be able to play both LB spots in a pinch. Beane has probably realized McDermott screwed him by recommending Bernard. Now he needs insurance if they cant get the MLB they want in the draft or it allows Beane to package some of his draft picks to move up and get the player he wants. He knows he needs MLB, WR, and OT in this draft but if he is targeting a certain player WR or Robinson perhaps he likely will have to give up one of his Day 2 picks to move up.
  2. I think he was pointing out the exact opposite in that the visits aren't smoke-screens. Beane brings in guys he wants and drafts for need. As he should.
  3. I was right about Allen and Darnold. I had Rosen my #2. I dismissed Mayfield and was admittedly biased by the failure of so many Oklahoma QBs before him. I did not understand the hype but I saw Darnold up close and knew he could not handle the pro game. Biggest miss was on Justin Herbert. I watched this guy play small in every big game Oregon played for three years. He never lived up to the hype. Even in the RoseBowl win it was him running not passing that won that game. He was terrible throwing the ball in his RoseBowl MVP performance. I thought for sure he was going to be a bust in the NFL.
  4. As others have said, Whitner and McGahee are the two that made zero sense. Sure Maybin was a bad pick but it made some sense. Whitner over Ngata? Why Marv why? And what arrogance to take McGahee thinking your team which didn't make the playoffs the year before was good enough to take a RB to sit out an entire year.
  5. 100% agree. Once Miller was gone no one objected to Dareus being drafted. Honestly no one complained about Dareus until after his big deal. He was a star and earned his big extension. No one was advocating for Watt. No but it has a great first step!
  6. I'm not disputing your list, but no WR? Typically every draft has a guy or two that turns out to be very good. If WR is that bad, then Beane had better double down on the trenches.
  7. 21 was crushing the Pats 20 was squeaking past the Colts and then beating the Ravens on one of the top 5 plays in Bills history - the Taron Johnson pick six Agree little pass rush but rarely out of position. He is a quality backup DE but can start opposite Rousseau for several games while Miller comes back
  8. Darrelle Revis said it a long time ago. You only stop elite TEs with elite corners. No player can match up with elite TE size but a CB can run with them. Nobody has an issue lining up a 6ft CB against a 6'5 WR. Why wouldn't you do the same against a 6'5 TE? Guarding elite TEs with safeties and LBs is old school dumb ass DC thinking. They aren't athletic enough to run with the elite TEs. To McD and Frazier credit, the Bills did man up Gronk with CBs in the past but I have not seen it when facing Kelce. Maybe that is because the Patriots had no credible WR threats recently and of course KC does. Or maybe Bills tried it and I missed it.
  9. Right or wrong this regime prioritizes position flexibility and movement over size. I'm not even saying that is wrong, but that philosophy gets you burned at times. This defense over multiple seasons under McD gets steamrolled by physical teams. Then there are times where they hold up against the run quite well. All that said, I would favor a big DT and big MLB. Others disagree. DT takes years to develop. Bills SB window is now. MLB and Edge can start right away. I'd favor drafting a MLB and/or edge this year and getting a veteran DT in free agency next year. Top 4 picks need to be 3 offense and 1 defense in no particular order. Getting Poyer and probably Hamlin back and the free agent safety buys you another year before needing to address safety in the draft.
  10. As many of us say, it only takes one team to make a bad deal or a bad trade and mess with the market. $15M for a guy coming off an ACL is insane to a team that may have a rookie QB
  11. Bobby Wagner was the best LB in the NFL for most of the last decade playing at 240-245 lbs. And that was on a 6ft frame. We can go back and forth with multiple examples. Hope I'm wrong and he can play. If not he will go down as even a worse pick than Ford.
  12. 245-255 I realize the game has changed and your MLB needs to play in space much more than 20 years ago. But they still need to have size to play the run and be physical at the LOS when needed.
  13. The 5th year is important but its also irrelevant for this team right now. The SB window will have been slammed shut by then.
  14. He's listed at 224 pounds. If Beane or McD thinks that is ok for MLB then they are coaching a different game than I am watching. You still need size up the middle. He is closer to a big nickel safety than he is a MLB. If he was insurance if Milano got hurt then it was a complete waste of a draft pick when the team needed other depth players. It doesn't really matter though. Our only hope with this coaching staff is Allen scores 40 a game. Get 3 more guys that can contribute on offense and a LB, DT, or edge in the top 4 picks
  15. I dont know Chandler. I remember that more as Kelly playing really poorly. Didn't he have horrible red zone INT in that game?
  16. Beane screwed us by drafting a smurf in the 3rd round last year and made it worse not signing a veteran to replace Edmunds. At this point there are too many holes to fill because he has missed on so many day 2 picks. Edge might be a bigger need than MLB. Dodson is probably better at MLB than Epenesa or Basham is at end. If they went edge, and then 4 straight players on offense I would be ok with that. The secondary should be elite again. If they can add a legit pass rusher then they can survive with a below average MLB.
  17. No way the Bills draft him But the OP may not be far off if Baltimore passes on him. Maybe the Bears decide he is too good to pass up and want to trade back into the first and take him as competition for Fields. Tampa can't be happy with their QB situation. It only takes one team to want him and be willing to give up a pick to move up and get him.
  18. Beane's history is c/w giving away draft picks to go up and draft guys. This team needs multiple starters to emerge from this draft over the next two years at WR, OL, LB, and DL. He would be better off trading out of the first round and picking up an extra day 2 pick. I would much rather have 4 top 100 picks instead of three.
  19. Watch the games. Despite the record Bills were worse than the year before. They have regressed in the playoffs every year now. They have gone from losing in AFC Championship, to losing in division round on the road to losing in division round at home. None of that matters for 2023 but stop trying to spin that 2022 was anything but a massive disappointment The game was over after the second drive. They were a great AFC team, but they probably were not a top 5 NFL team all those years. The NFC was a much better conference. And they never faced the 49ers in the SuperBowl who may have been the best team in the NFL during that 4 year stretch. Sadly there are parallels to this team's playoff performances. The team is soft on the lines and especially on defense and they are routinely outcoached in the playoffs.
  20. This is nonsense. There is no difference in talent between the 15th ranked player and the 50th. No difference between 100 and 150. And after 150 they are all the same. These guys can't predict who will be a great player anymore than anyone else. Diggs is the second best player on the team and the best WR in Bills history and he was a 5th round pick. Oliver is a serviceable starting DT and was a top 10 pick. Hardly what you want from a top 10 let alone first round pick. The examples are endless of busts and stars drafted early and late. Like Brad Pitt says in money ball, "You think you know, but you don't " Really, there was no consensus Bills needed a QB, MLB, DT, Edge, and CB when they drafted Allen, Edmunds, Oliver, Rousseau, and Elam??? I think 99% of this board knew those positions were getting drafted. The only difference this year is there is not one glaring weakness. There are areas that need improvement in the WR group, OL, and obviously MLB. But the team has options some good some awful for those units that are already on the team or have been signed in FA.
  21. Dorsey and Allen have yet to figure out how to use TE#1. Davis will be FA next year. They need to draft his replacement this year and get younger at WR.
  22. He wants to win. Josh was throwing too many picks and not seeing the whole field. Huge question marks for this coaching staff to answer in 2023 playoffs. I trust Diggs more than I do Dorsey or McDermott
  23. Under appreciated by this coaching staff too. PED Murphy started for three years and did nothing while Lawson was at least solid. Would love to see them trade Oliver and with that additional pick draft another edge rusher. Let Basham take some snaps at DT.
  24. Mahommes has Andy Reid. Allen doesn't. Mahommes sees the whole field. For whatever reason Allen seems to struggle with that. Mahommes has Kelce who is more valuable that Hill ever was. Diggs is elite. He's the only other elite talent on the offense. I like Knox but he is not in the league taht Kelce is.
