  1. Vegas doesn't play the games. Haven't even made a Championship game in 2 years let alone the SB. Last year everyone said just get Home field. How did that work out?
  2. This is one of the dumbest posts ever. Please know so I dont get banned im not calling the poster dumb. Im just saying this post is stupid. You have no idea how hard any of those coaches worked. You have no idea how hard McDermott works. So if McD is already working harder than those listed why has he had less success than some of them. Marty made multiple AFC Championship games. Fisher made a SuperBowl. Did Andy Reid work les hard in Philadelphia than he does now? Did Belichick work less hard in Cleveland? Ridiculous
  3. Well like it or not we are stuck with McDermott for the next few seasons. As much as I criticize him, the Bills could do a lot worse. At this point we just have to sit back and hope Josh can deliver us a championship. Peyton won a SuperBowl despite Dungy. Allen will have to do the same.
  4. Odd move. Usually this is done to protect them from leaving for a coordinator job somewhere else. I beleive the assistant HC title means Bills can block interviews for DC. He doesn't seem like a guy that would be on anyone's list for a DC job but who knows.
  5. Cowherd fancies himself an intellectual but he's just a dumb sports radio guy like the rest. He is a poster child for a bandwagon fan. When the Patriots were at their peak all he spoke about was Brady and Belichick. Same with LeBron and Alabama. He covets big market listeners. The popular narrative now is the league has moved past Buffalo and the scapegoat so far is McDermott and not Allen. What people jump to is some media bias against Buffalo. Its not true. The media follows winners and good/bad drama. And now KC and Cinci are winning more than Buffalo. No big name free agents means no good drama. All the Bills have is a Diggs drama, the Madden curse, and a 6'5 slot WR to talk about now. When the Bills start winning big games on national TV early this season the Bills will be the talk of the NFL again.
  6. Well that was kind of true. Miller had 1000 yards as a rookie. Then had to wait a year for Cribbs.
  7. Who is Ed Jordan? Both could be true. He definitely played well the next week. But from what we now know about concussions maybe playing so quickly is what hurt him in the long run. That said he was never that good and it probably would have taken Bill Walsh and Jerry Rice in their prime to make him succeed.
  8. Elam looked good down the stretch. He should have started all year. Obviously from Beane's PC, Elam wasn't doing something that followed the process, thus not dressing him one game. He was better than White down the stretch. Good point on Cook. I don't think he was used well at all. Daboll and Dorsey have been horrible at the screen game and getting the backs involved in the passing game much at all. Spending big money does not guarantee results. Bills are not the only team to spend big in free agency and not see the results. Bears will soon regret the big contract they just gave to Edmunds.
  9. Always love these type of threads. I've posted some stuff taht others have. Not sure if I've posted this but at the time I thought Fred Jackson was not that good and should not be getting carries at the expense of Lynch. Wow was I wrong. Jackson had vision and heart and just enough talent to be a great Bill.
  10. He was. Made All-Pro. He could have been a HOF talent. Then he apparently just stopped caring. Perhaps it was money. Perhaps drugs. Will be interesting in 5 or 10 years to see where he is in life.
  11. Oh hell yes they have wasted money. But you didn't post about waste. You posted about not spending and investing resources on impact players. Because it did not work out is not the same as they did not try. I 100% agree on OT and firmly believe if White had not gotten injured they would have drafted WR or OT in 2022. For the millionth time, Kincaid is not a TE. He is a slot WR the same as Aaron Hernandez was for New England. He will never ever line up where Knox lines up. And when he comes up for a contract extension/tag he will argue it should be as a hybrid WR/TE as others have argued based on percentage of plays he is flexed out in a two point stance.
  12. Yes but as the other poster noted, Bills were down 2 of 4 starters on the DL and we have no idea how healthy Rousseau's foot/ankle was down the stretch. Still I think most of us saw this as an advantage and yet again Oliver (1 tackle), Epenesa(1 tackle), and Basham(zero tackles) failed to step up.
  13. Rex was fine for in game HC decisions. His downfall was the NFL figured out his defense. Rex may have been a fine HC if he had just kept Schwartz and let him run that amazing defense. Rex built a top 5 scoring offense with a powerhouse run game. He just could not keep his and his dumb brother's ego out of the way of a perfectly fine defense. McD as a DC is far superior to Rex. As a leader they both have good qualities. I would take McD's style over Rex's but I also think Rex would have managed the Hamlin situation just as well. He bonded well with the players. He showed empathy.
  14. Obviously I'm not a huge McD fan, but his challenges got better in 2022 I thought. His time management in games especially before the half is excellent. I agree he wastes TO's on defense. His defenses seem to give up too many long 3rd downs but if you look at the stats they are still really good on 3rd down. I would add his ability to create a short yardage package is really lacking. Bills offense has really struggles on 3rd and short situations. McDermott can't even win playoff games. Harbaugh has better playoff record and has taken his team to the SB. I will take a Lombardi even if he is a douchebag. FYI, actually met him once on a street in Amsterdam with his wife. He was very personable and chatted with me and my wife for 20 min or so while they waited for a car to take them to dinner.
  15. So far yes. And I agree the loss to TCU was embarrassing especially after what they did to OSU. No excuses for that loss. Of course he has an NFC Championship win. What is McD biggest win? Division round against the Ravens?
  16. They spent money on Miller last year and in years past Morse. They have extended Allen, White, Diggs, Knox, Hyde, Poyer, Bass, Oliver, and Milano. They have invested a first round pick in Rousseau. I'd have no argument if you said Oliver, Knox, and a couple others are not impact players. They have extended/invested money in QB, Pass rusher, WR, TE, CB, DT, and PK. Outside of the OT spots where else would you have them spend money?
  17. Stay healthy for the playoffs and hope McD doesn't prevent Allen from taking us all the way. Allen needs to throw 3 less INTs Knox needs 20 more receptions Davis needs 6 less drops Find a suitable RT and establish O'Cyrus a day 1 starter in training camp. Bills D needs to play a deep shell most of the year. Keep everything in front of them and force the opponent to dink and dunk. Save the pass rush for the playoffs. Keep Von Miller and Leonard Floyd fresh for January. Let Epenesa and Basham burn calories chasing the QBs in Sept and Oct.
  18. Off the top of my head I would have thought Mario Williams, Tre White, and Lee Evans would be on this list. Evans in 2006 had 82 catches for nearly 1300 yards, 8 TDs, and a 15.8 YPC. Williams in 2013 had 13 sacks and followed it up in 2014 with 14.5 sacks. White made All-Pro in 2019 and had 6 picks with a ridiculous QB rating against of less than 40 for the entire season. Byrd was good but this season by White was superior.
  19. He won the Orange Bowl at Stanford when he had Luck. He's never had a QB like Allen at Michigan or San Francisco. He beat Green Bay and Rodgers on the road in the playoffs. McD has yet to win a single road playoff game. And nobody ever accused his teams of being soft.
  20. If Bills miss the playoffs in 2023, I would replace McD with Jim Harbaugh in 2024. He was 44-19-1 (0.695)in regular season and 5-3(0.625) in post season. Both those records compare favorably to McD at 0.639 and 0.444. Assuming that will not happen then McD will be back for 2024. If no SuperBowl in 23 or 24 I would fire him no matter the circumstances. I would then target either Harbaugh or Lincoln Riley. There may be other option available by then too. However Allen is going to make all this get rid of McD talk silly. Because Allen is going to will this team to a SB this year despite McD just like Manning did with Dungy.
  21. Can you define true #2? Separating in small spaces has little to do with an outside WR. That is what your slot WR does. I really don't think this board understands the Bills offense at all. Davis is an excellent WR who had too many drops last year. Had he made a few more catches he would have had elite numbers as an outside deep threat. And this was with an injured ankle. I also have to believe if Davis made that catch against the Jets on the desperation bomb at the end of the game this entire discussion would be different.
  22. McVay didn't have the QB talent McD does McD doesn't have a SB appearance. Neither did Dungy before he was replaced in Tampa. If McD had made a SB appearance by now there would be less than 2% of people wanting a change. We are fans but we aren't that crazy. And where have they come since 2020? 2020 was a AFC Championship loss, 2021 was a dominant home WC round win and a Division round loss due to coaching error, and 2022 was a barely escaped with a WC win against a third string QB and RB and an embarrassing Division loss at home. Not sure how you see that as coming a long way. At best it is treading water at worst it's trending down.
