What Did Indy do on D?
RobbRiddicksTDLeap replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is true. There seemed to be too much sizzle, not enough steak. One thing that Indy did was get pressure from their front 4, and they played a lot of zone. Allen picked them apart, but it wasn’t easy. I was waiting for an interception, the way they were running coverage. There was nothing over the middle for large stretches of the game. That’s Daboll’s bread an butter. Some screen plays, or misdirections. Not having McKenzie for whatever reason, was a big part of that. This is where Allen’s arm strength takes over. He can zing those darts 30 yards down the sideline. Literally he can make EVERY throw. -

Anthony Lynn fired by Chargers

So, I’m not trying to be argumentative here, but where. I started looking, and found countless articles saying that he should get an interview, or an opportunity. The quote from McDermott has said he supports him being a coach. The only quote I’ve seen from Daboll, in regards to his desire to be a coach is this: “You learn real quick that you better focus on the things that you can control, the task at hand,” he said. “Whether things are good outside or bad outside, you can’t control those. You can’t let your mind drift into those because then you wouldn’t be doing your job as good as you can do it. And that’s what you need to do. You better be at your best; you better be dialed in at this time of year because one slip-up and you’re not where you want to be. And that’s the worst feeling, trust me.” https://www.democratandchronicle.com/story/sports/football/nfl/bills/2020/12/24/buffalo-bills-brian-daboll-leslie-frazier-may-head-coaching-candidates/4028505001/ It doesn’t reflect a guy being interested in any job, other than the one he has. I know this is one source, and I trust your opinions. I’d just like to see it where he says he wants another job. -

Ahhh... I hadn’t seen that. -

Has anyone thought that maybe Daboll doesn’t want to be a Head Coach yet? Maybe he wants to win here too. He was snubbed by Belichik, went and got better, and is on the cusp of something awesome. I just don’t get the feeling from him that he wants to run the show yet. -
Jets officially fire Adam Gase
RobbRiddicksTDLeap replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’m torn. As a world famous Jets hater, I love to see their fans suffer. It brings pure joy to my heart. Adam Gase as their coach was manna from heaven, everyday of the year with these dopes. As a fan of good football, I’m glad he’s gone so I don’t have to here from the god awful Jet fans, about how horrible he is. He should not get another job in the NFL. -
ROCKPILE REVIEW - Sweep!!!
RobbRiddicksTDLeap replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks again for another awesome season of write-ups. For me the game isn’t complete, until I read these. You are by far, my favorite Bills columnist. Cory Bojorquéz! I’m not trying to harken back to the Brian Moorman days, but this kid can kick. The second string defense looked awesome. Andre Smith looked like an uncaged animal. Dane Jackson looked fantastic, Harrison Phillips was all over the field. You’re right when you say that the TEAM is successful right now. I couldn’t believe the bomb to Gabriel Davis. That complete goes against every preconceived notion about McDermott. To go up by over 30, again in the game was unprecedented. I love it. The league is on notice. I was scared to say it, but not anymore. -

Who is Benny the Butcher? This isn’t the worst thing I’ve ever heard, but I’m not sure that it needs to be played instead of the Shout Song. -
Mic'd up New England Levi Wallace
RobbRiddicksTDLeap replied to Warcodered's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I feel like that’s been the story. No real training camp. No real offseason. No preseason. The defense plays different when he’s not in. Josh Norman, Dane Jackson, Daryl Worley, don’t have the technique that Wallace has. He’s a craftsman on the field in coverage, and it shows now that he’s healthy. -

Nope, it’s a great thing. He’s another one that gets no love here, and he should. -
This may sound like a cop out... I don’t find the Ravens to be a team that cares if they are forced into the pass. The Bills have a tremendous pass defense, but again, the RPO game is an absolute momentum killer. You could make a stop on 1st down, break up a pass on second, and now on 3rd and long, Jackson can break one off for 9 yards, and it’s 1st and 10. That sort of attrition can wear you out on the field. And before you know it, your 2 score lead is now a field goal loss. We’ve all seen that happen, and not just to the Bills. The league used to be about sustaining drives with consistent running, and throwing to keep the defense honest. Now it’s the complete opposite, on both sides of the ball. Timely and efficient running, can demoralize a defense, and force your offense out of its rhythm. I do like Daboll’s methodology of scoring fast and often and then grinding it out with the run game in the 4th. And let me add that, I do think the Bills can beat a team like the Ravens, I’d still rather play Indy or Cleveland. The Ravens defense is not anywhere near as intimidating as it has been in recent memory. But again, they are well coached and can turn it up if they have too. I do think that pass protection is absurdly good for Allen. It’s been unreal to see how much time he has in the pocket, and that alone could be the difference in sustaining a playoff run this season.

It still doesn’t seem real
RobbRiddicksTDLeap replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think you’re onto something here.... but it seems like Josh Allen feels like his career will be defined by bringing The City Of Buffalo and the fans of this team, redemption. He has a very close relationship with Jim Kelly. It’s impossible that some of that regret hasn’t made its way through to Allen. That he can right all the mistakes of the past, doesn’t seem like a challenge too great for him. That’s impressive. -
OP asked who we don’t want to see in the playoffs. I don’t want to play any team who’s strength is the Bills weakness. Yes, the Bills are 12-3. Yes the defense is playing great right now. All that can change in the playoffs. I’d rather face a team that can become one dimensional (like Indy or Cleveland), than a team that can draw you into making mistakes and over pursue. I think the Bills could beat the Ravens. It would be close and unpleasant, but I do think they could win. I’d rather see them play a team where their weaknesses wouldn’t be taken advantage of. And for the record, I’m a huge fan of Edmunds.

What JC Jackson said to Stefon Diggs
RobbRiddicksTDLeap replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When was the last time we saw two players on the Bills offense that get better when opponents talk trash? Certainly not in the “high motor/lunch pail” years. Not in the Glory Days either. Those teams did the trash talking. I love it. It wasn’t flashy, no dancing. Just score, score again; and once more to remind them. Breaking records against the Patriots, what a Holiday Treat! -
And the Bills still lost that game. It’s not just about the yards. It’s the types of runs, and the timing of them. We saw what the RPO did to the Bills in the Cardinals game. How many times in that game and last years Ravens game did we see Jackson keep the ball and get a chunk? Or extending a drive on 3rd and medium on a run up the gut? The Bills need to scheme to stop the run, and that can be deadly against RPO heavy offenses. Id much rather Indy or Cleveland, than the Ravens and Jackson. Even though those teams run the ball well, their QB’s are not as an immediate or a threat like Baltimore.

Ahhhh, the very heart of playoff football.

Yes. The one team I have zero interest in seeing the Bills play in the playoffs is the Ravens. They play exactly the kind of game that the Bills Defensive Line has had tremendous problems stopping.

Week 16 Postgame Thread Bills @ Pats*
RobbRiddicksTDLeap replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow. Just watched that post game interview. wow. No bickering Bills here. These guys are pals. “He understands all my ins and outs...” ”Bruh...?” ”Ugh, I hate you.” That’s two pals at work, breaking each other’s stones. I love it so much. I don’t care who knows! -
A COMPLETE Role Reversal
RobbRiddicksTDLeap replied to Long Suffering Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Listening to the post game now, and Nate was going over the game stats. I remember when the Pats ran 90 plays or something stupid like that during the George Edwards “hybrid thang” years. It’s so awesome to be on the other end, finally.
