  1. In the meantime, Dolphins fans are going gaga over Tua throwing "dimes" in practice: https://www.instagram.com/p/CvQJVm0pIxw/?img_index=1
  2. A few posts here mentioned EJ Manuel. Not familiar with the incident and not trying to hi-jack this thread, but I went to his ig page. Apparently, he was just married. Looking at the final pic in this post, anyone know why he and his bridge are wearing foot covering over their shoes? The location says Fort Lauderdale: Here are the screenshot of the pic and his post link: https://www.instagram.com/p/CsPHEEfPg1f/?img_index=1
  3. Didn't see this posted. From the article: "Patriots coach Bill Belichick says the giant new video board installed at Gillette Stadium this offseason could affect the game on the field. The video board is 370 feet wide and 60 feet high and stretches across the north end zone, which had previously been open. Belichick said today that he wants his kickers to get plenty of practice inside the stadium to get a feel for how much the new board will change wind patterns. “We saw a lot of that in the spring, so we can’t control that, whatever it is, it is. It’s a learning experience for these guys. We’ll kick in the stadium when we can. Obviously those conditions have changed a little bit, so we’ll see how that goes. It’s a work in progress,” Belichick said. Belichick said it’s clear that kicking in the stadium is different now. “We were in there this spring a little bit,” Belichick said. “Yeah, there’s some changes. Yeah.” The Patriots’ new video board is the largest at any outdoor stadium in America." [end] I hope this doesn't' give the Pats too much of an advantage. They will know how the wind affect kicks, while other teams will have to learn. I have this nagging suspicion that Belichick is up to something, lol. [Also, thanks to @Bubba Gump for the title suggestion!]
  4. True, except for Kansas City. They gladly took the win, 13-7, over Green Bay without Aaron Rodgers in 2021. This enabled them to get the #2 seed over us, and they got to host us in the infamous 13-seconds game.
  5. Colorado is headed back to the Big XII next season (2024) penalty free, after the TV contract with the PAC-12 expires at the end of this season (2023-24). That makes only nine teams for the PAC-12 next year (with the upcoming loss of USC and UCLA to the Big 10 (B1G)). Who's next?
  6. This is wrong. They've inducted three seniors for quite a while now.
  7. Well, they are not arbitrary. There is a definite ranking. That's why Nantz and Romo will almost always get the top game each week, depending on how CBS ranks the games (this year a lot of Jets games). Same reason why McCarthy and Lofton get worse games. A lot depends on potential TV viewership, time/day slot (perhaps a Christmas day or eve matchup), and players they want to showcase, like Bryce Young early on. KC is also really popular, obviously, because of Mahommes, his MVP's, and their SB's.
  8. Yep, everyone said in 1989 that the Vikings were just a RB away from winning the SB. Afterall, they had a Pro Bowler and/or All Pro at every position group except RB. So, they traded with Dallas for Herschel Walker in a blockbuster deal. Didn't work out too well for them. SF, the Giants, and Washington continued to dominate the NFC, as did Dallas eventually, who got three firsts, three seconds, and a third from that trade. They drafted Emmitt Smith from those picks, as well as Russell Maryland, Kevin Smith, Darren Woodson, and others.
  9. But but but..are they discussing things like smelly shirts and wet spaghetti noodles in that thread?!?! This thread is more interesting.
  10. Well, we'll get to see Week 3 when he is doing our game. [At least he and Buffalo probably have something in common: hatred for the Patriots, lol.]

  12. Full tweet: "Evan Feldman, the attorney for the Employee of the Kelly Fleet, Inc and Julius Collins, the attorney for Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill, have issued the following joint statement: “The parties to the incident which occurred on June 18th, 2023 at the Haulover Marina involving Tyreek Hill have resolved their differences.”"
  13. Well, on the Dolphins forum, most (and I do mean a very big "most") are claiming Tua is better than Josh, lol. Also: In all seriousness, it's hard to get a franchise QB, or even close to one, as we well know. If Tua holds up reasonably well this year, Miami had better invest in him, less they waste away the likes of Tyreek, Jaylen, etc. Or they can tank, I guess, for Caleb and watch their fanbase and Tyreek meltdown, lol.
  14. Then Tua is next in line after Burrow, assuming all goes well with him this year.
  15. Well, technically calipers, specifically 10-piston aluminum calipers on the front; but, yeah, they are impressive:
  16. In case anyone didn't click the Star Tribune link above, there is a video of Addison pulling over. Looks like he pulled over on the left side of the freeway, and soon after there were four cop cars or motorcycles (?), judging from the flashing lights. It looks like one set of flashing lights is on the other side of the median, coming from the wrong direction? There is also a civilian vehicle ahead of Addison that he pulled u near when slowing down, so there was some other traffic. https://www.startribune.com/video-viking-addison-told-trooper-a-dog-emergency-was-reason-for-going-140-mph-court-filing-reads/600291951/
  17. Thanks for finding this excellent link. I think "shall not be limited to" is important. If they consider riding a motorcycle to be dangerous, then so is jet skiing, I would think. Also, regarding injuries off the field and with no relation to football. Let's say I was injured falling off a ladder at home doing normal maintenance. I am out of work for the year doing whatever job. You can bet most employers would fire me, or at least put me on non-paid leave, unless I had enough sick leave, vacation time, whatever, accrued. I knew an employee at a grocery store. He was diagnosed with cancer and started missing a lot of time due to treatment for it. The grocery store quickly fired him for not being available. You can't really blame them for that. So why can't Hines be cut (not saying I would) for something with no relation to football? That's what non-occupational disability insurance and Social Security Disability Insurance are for (the latter only for injuries lasting more than year and where you can't do *any* job in your field).
  18. I bet the contract states something like "engaging in jet ski activates", since he was obviously intending to ride or had already done so. People just don't sit on a jet ski for no reason. So no team can cut a player who is injured off-season and doing non-football related, most likely prohibited, activities? And why could there be an injury settlement when the Bills were not involved? I am just asking since this seems weird. Also, can the Bills void the contract guarantees this year since he was engaged in most likely a prohibited activity? Can they also void his accredited season this year and have him through 2025? I am not sure if this is really an "everyday life" sort of activity. Maybe it is. It also may not be reckless to sit on a jet ski but I would argue it is dangerous given what happened to him and other stories posted in this thread.
  19. LOL...ok so all is good now, since there was an emergency:
  20. And for its dramatic highway bridge collapses too.
  21. And yikes...his twitter bio says "risk taker": Jordan when pulled over:
  22. Very dangerous to the public and reckless, even on an empty roadway in the middle of the night. At that speed, he could have come across an unseen driver, road work, or obstacle very quickly and spun out of control. You can't stop or slow down quickly at that speed. I have also seen cars flip over the wall or guardrail on an interstate and smash into a house, killing people sleeping. Just as bad as drunk driving or waving a loaded gun around.
  23. I would have nominated you for best jokes here on that other thread!
