  1. According to this article and video, he was called "YAC" by Marv Levy and I guess others too: https://ftw.usatoday.com/2014/07/marv-levy-hall-of-fame-ceremony "Marv Levy won’t be presenting Andre Reed as part of the 2014 Pro Football Hall of Fame class for a little over two weeks, but the longtime Buffalo Bills coach and Hall of Famer himself has already wrapped up most of his duties in memorializing the receiver he used to call “YAC.”
  2. It's confidence. And the Bills already have two world championships, but the AFL title game back then wasn't called the Super Bowl. Buffalo got theirs in the 1964 and 1965, and KC got theirs in 1966 and 1970, 2019, and 2022 (the latter three being SB's). But SB or world championship, it's just a name. They have 4, we have 2.
  3. I'll take Josh over Mahommes any day. In the end, we'll see who has more SB rings.
  4. I personally would choose just to respect their privacy, but it's fine you and others feel differently. It's just me.
  5. Ok, I misread the article thinking it said a message will be shared to the Pegula family. If they indeed have sanctioned this, then ok, I guess. But I guess I'd like to know what the message is, and if they really did approve or felt the need to say yes. [Kind of like when I was volunteering and mentioned a health issue with to a woman who was a member of this church, and she all of the sudden grabbed my hand and did a vocal prayer. I thanked her, knowing she meant well, but still.] IDK, maybe it's just me, but something still seems weird about this. Just respect their privacy. They apparently (??) approached the Pegulas, not the other way around. Why were they looking for this opportunity?
  6. There is no charge, but this will surely attract a lot of publicity and probably more donations to the church while making the church look good (to some at least). They are a big church and staff and seem to want to grow rapidly from their website. They have lots of expenses given their online presence. Their motives are questionable. It's something I would stay away from. It's tacky since you just don't do something like this when the family has been mostly silent about this issue and seem to want people respect their privacy. (Sure, Jessica spoke a little, but the family had to eventually say something.) If the Pegulas did want to do something like this, you think there would be an announcement from them, with a non-denominational whatever. It's like the church is profiting from someone else's tragedy. It's just something I wouldn't do absent the Pegulas official blessing. It's a bad look.
  7. Yeah, like that thread about how many wings he could eat. But I have posted fun stuff too, so I guess I am a hypocrite.
  8. Unlikely. From what I could find: https://buffalonews.com/buffalo-magazine/the-billionaire-next-door/article_a48f64ac-0e96-5d1b-8f6d-1cf9e7007f47.html [paywall, and my free views are up] "The billionaire next door May 1, 2015 — Terry was raised Catholic. Kim points to that as something that keeps them grounded." That's why I said earlier it seemed tacky, since this move doesn't appear to have Terry's or Kim's blessing. It's like the church wants to benefit from this in some way.
  9. Maybe here? https://buffalonews.com/the-past-year-feels-like-15minutes-or-15-years/article_05c1a6c6-ba9e-5988-acbf-6f1e0b2f4af3.html [paywall with limited free views] "The biggest difference last week compared to the 2022 league meeting in Palm Beach, Fla., was the absence of Owner/President Kim Pegula, who suffered cardiac arrest in June. An early February essay by her daughter, Jessica, revealed Kim is dealing with "significant memory issues" and "significant expressive aphasia" — speech difficulties caused by brain damage. [...] "[Ron] Raccuia [Bills COO] said it was "certainly" different not having Kim in the sessions in Phoenix [at the annual league meeting]. "Every day when Kim's not here is different," he said. "Terry is here and Kim is doing better, and that's fantastic news for everybody, not just the Bills, but for the league because Kim is a huge leader in a lot of league initiatives and is widely respected in league circles. Wemiss her every day."
  10. I didn't know either. I had to look it up. If you are dying to know before hondo posts the answers...google is your (and my) friend!
  11. You mean "Marshawn Inch"?! Also, the Statue aka Deadslow. And, in all seriousness, one that was not listed: "Radar". EDIT: Oh, and "T-Mobile". And "Thermal", "House Money", "Groot", and "Bass-O-Matic" are pretty obvious.
  12. Yes, it did. I apparently don't know how to calculate the difference between ET and PT. LOL. Sorry! 😄
  13. I thought I read here the poll was supposed to close at 8 PM ET?
  14. NFL.com has released its GM power rankings. Beane is 4th! https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-gm-power-rankings-eagles-howie-roseman-reigns-while-brad-holmes-makes-his-ma "4) Brandon Beane/Sean McDermott, Buffalo Bills I don't put the Bills' inability to get over the hump on the front office. Rather, I blame it on randomness (2020 and '21) and injuries (2022). That said, the team might need to revisit the relative lack of weight that is put into offensive resources compared with McDermott's defense. A solid D can only take you so far in this era, and the team's shortcomings on the offensive line and skill positions around Josh Allen showed up in 2022. Beane made some low-cost moves in free agency (Damien Harris, Deonte Harty, Connor McGovern) that look smart enough on paper -- they are also similar to moves from 2022 that didn't work out well. His drafts have been less inspiring over the last four years, with 2021 first-rounder Greg Rousseau being the biggest difference-maker among them. The Bills have built and maintained a superpower over the last six years since Beane was hired, but their best work was done in the building stages. Can they do it again with different players around Allen?" Full list: 1. Howie Roseman, Philadelphia 2. Brett Veach, KC 3. Duke Tobin, Cincy 4. Brandon Beane/Sean McDermott, Buffalo 5. John Lynch/Kyle Shanahan, SF 6. Les Snead/Sean McVay, LA Rams 7. Brad Holmes, Detroit 8. Brian Gutekunst, GB 9. John Schneider, Seattle 10. Jerry Jones, Dallas 11. Bill Belichick, New England 12. Tom Telesco, LA Chargers 13. Eric DeCosta, Baltimore 14. Mickey Loomis, New Orleans 15. Chris Grier, Miami 16. Joe Douglas, NY Jets 17. Jason Licht, Tampa Bay 18.Chris Ballard, Indianapolis 19. 15. An annotation should be made in the OP.
  16. I recall there was a need and desire to draft a QB in 2004 after the Bills became disillusioned with Bledsoe. From one article: https://buffalowdown.com/2020/05/29/buffalo-bills-select-linebacker-b-r-2004-nfl-draft-re-draft/ "The 2004 NFL Draft is known for the QB class at the top with Eli Manning, Ben Roethlisberger and Philip Rivers and the Buffalo Bills did enter this NFL Draft in need of a quarterback. However, all three were gone by the time the Bills selected at 13th overall."
  17. Dick Jauron, a new coach, needed players who fit his Tampa 2 defense. Whitner fit the role, as did McCargo, who was the only player in the draft who could play NT in his system. That's why he had to trade up for him. Whaley needed a star WR for his prodigy, EJ Manuel, to throw to. I was not surprised by the Watkins pick.
  18. I'm a little confused by your post. 1. I actually expected Buffalo to take McGahee, given the value. He was a likely top 5 pick who fell. It would be like if Jalen Carter fell to 27 this year. Of course we would take him. And Buffalo had a reputation for shocking then world back then on draft day, like when traded our first the previous year for Bledsoe. 2. As for Losman, there was huge talk of Buffalo wanting a QB that year. We desperately wanted Roethlisberger and almost had him.
  19. Maybe Tua did not the FOX Sports challenge?
  20. My dad had a child with his third wife at 57. He retired at 62, and not only collected Social Security for himself, but for his child AND his wife (who was only 42 and still working) since the SSA considers her the child's caretaker and will pay her benefits too. So my point is, it's not a bad thing to be an older father! I don't think 46 is too old. Also, your wife is still young, and women have a better chance of bearing a healthier baby and having less complications themselves if they give birth while still in the 20's. So, 28 is a perfect age.
