And a somewhat decent return specialist who we ended up waiving. According to his Wikipedia page: "McCloud signed a one-year contract extension with the Steelers on March 11, 2021.[21] McCloud became the Steelers' primary return specialist, returning 28 kickoffs for 646 yards and 29 punts with an average of 10.7 yards. He was named by Pro Football Focus on its All-Pro roster as a second-team return specialist."

I remember the days of the 80's, when I went to a college interview out-of-state, and my father felt the need to voluntarily apologize for us being from Buffalo and for the team's poor play. I was thinking to myself: "please just shut up; let's not rub it in", lol!

7 Bills players that are trending up and down (per Joe B)

Thank you. Excellent reply. I do remember the Reggie Roby days and announcers going gaga over him with the Dolphins, with their new hang time counter on NBC at the time (which covered the AFC). I also remember the old days of the coffin corner. A lost skill today. -
I'm cheap. The only jersey I owned is a green Terrell Owens jersey from Philadelphia when he signed with Dallas (when I used to live in the Philly area). After he left, Sports Authority had them on clearance for $1. I couldn't resist, lol. Figured I could use it when I climbed under my car to change the oil. I eventually tossed it, but then he signed with Buffalo. [BTW, the fans there are obnoxious, but not as much as the New England ones when I lived in Maine.] Your post had me a little confused at first, thinking why would he want a jersey for the New Jersey Jets or Giants (lol)?

Thanks for posting this good nugget. If Araiza can punt farther but with the same hang time as (or less than) Haack, wouldn't that give the returner a running head start against the defenders? Just wondering. -

Excerpt: "Terrell Owens got into such a heated argument with a woman in his neighborhood on Wednesday night, cops had to get involved ... and when they arrived, the woman quarreling with the football legend screamed at T.O., "You're a Black man approaching a white woman!" Parts of the incident were captured by Owens on his social media live stream -- after he and one of his neighbors apparently got into a dispute over the way he had been driving around his neighborhood. Owens began filming the incident moments after cops had arrived on the scene. In the footage, the woman accused T.O. of driving recklessly, nearly hitting her with his car, and then getting out of his ride to intimidate her. Owens adamantly denied the allegations, saying he was driving safely, and only got out of his vehicle because she was screaming profanities at him."

Let's add Keith Gretzky to that list. -
Please, 46 and 47 are not old. Not even close. It's that people in their 20's or below are ultra young.

Agreed. I have no idea what they are, or even the instagram channels, movies, videos or whatever on top of someone's page with the regular IG posts. You can post a video in your IG posts, so I am not sure what the stuff at the top is or why it is necessary. Can you now post to IG from a computer? I hate using cell phones. And now those YouTube shorts confuse me. Snap Chat is even more confusing, to the point where I won't even touch it anymore. I don't know why there is an obsession by young people with social media. There is no need for it.

What a surprise: same as Josh Allen [wry smile]! :-)

You are both right, of course. I might add the criticisms of BMI are mainly because it doesn't take into account body fat percentage or body fat distribution (as well as frame size and sex), including the medical profession. If your BMI is 25.0, my medical offices put an exclamation point or point after the weight, as well as but it it red, lol. But women are less at risk because of a slightly higher BMI since their excess weight is often not around their critical abdominal area. And as you mentioned, BMI is a bad indicator for some athletes, including strength athletes like body builders, powerlifters, and strongmen, with very muscular builds. There are also some minor exceptions, like if you have lost lots of weight and have 10-20 lb. of loose skin (flab) hanging, or if you have kyphosis (like a hunchback), where your height should be calculated along your curve, not linearly. Some publications like The Washington Post, have even asked the question is BMI racist, since being heavier is more common and even expected in some cultures. I don't agree with that. But the article did also mention that the normal weight BMI cut-off point of 25.0 of normal weight into overweight, and 30.0 for overweight into obese is just because they people who designed the tables preferred round numbers in multiples of 5's. There is no reason why 25.0 per se makes you overweight, other than they just designated the tables that way. It probably could just as well be 24.5 or 25.5 or 26.0 or whatever. Not sure what a good number is to choose.

Oh I am used to it, but I don't judge. I see it everyday in the gyms I go to, so it's normal to met: the biggest gym clientele demographically is obese males in their 50's (as well as seniors who are retired and have lots of free time, often getting a free membership due to their Medicare health plans). And no worries, you will always be a-ok in my book @Augie! [BTW, on an off-note, speaking of seniors, they are the biggest clientele I have seen in the casinos where I live, which is contrary to what the casinos advertise (at least from what I have seen), showing younger or middle-aged attractive non-overweight white males and glamorously dressed white females. Asians are also a big demographic, so much so some casinos have Asian gaming sections are Asians hosts fluent in Mandarin or Cantonese. Sorry to get off-topic, but I just found it interesting who they advertise in their print and television media is different from most of their clientele.]

73.4% of the US adult population 20 and over was either obese or overweight as of 2018.

Agreed with everything you said. But the NFL's job is also to make money for the owners. Maybe the NFL feels it will make more money with Watson playing than suspending him longer? Not sure. But as someone already mentioned, they probably have crunched the numbers already. We'll learn in a few days.

Tip: screenshot the roster at home on your computer, then paste and save it in a photo editing program like IrFanView (free and easy to use), then print this.

This is how Mike Florio answered that question: https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2022/08/01/making-sense-of-the-deshaun-watson-deandre-hopkins-and-calvin-ridley-suspensions/ "How does Watson, who faced 24 lawsuits alleging sexual misconduct during massage therapy sessions, get suspended only six games when Cardinal receiver DeAndre Hopkins was suspended six games for trace amounts of a PED he claims he didn’t know he ingested and Falcons receiver Calvin Ridley was suspended a whole season for making $1,500 in parlay wagers? On the surface, the answer is easy. These three players were suspended under three completely different policies: Personal Conduct, PED, and gambling. There’s a more nuanced explanation. The PED policies and gambling policies go directly to the integrity of the game, whether by cheating in it or betting on it. The Personal Conduct Policy relates to off-duty behavior, conduct that has no connection to the league’s core business interests. The vast majority of American employers don’t, won’t, and can’t police the private lives of their employees. If an employee faces multiple civil lawsuits unrelated to his workplace behavior and/or if he’s investigated but never charged with any crime(s), the employer has no cause to do anything."

I was listening to a weekend radio show on Fox Sports Radio on Sunday. On Cleveland fans cheerfully welcoming Deshaun Watson at camp, this host [don't know who it was] he said you have to separate the artist from the art. He said lots of classic artists painted magnificent works, but they did many bad things in their lives. He said the same was true for this country's founding fathers. I'm not saying I agree with him, but just reporting what I heard. [Don't shoot the messenger!] I have this feeling Cleveland fans who are holding out will eventually come around, just like with Kobe Bryant and Ben Roethsliberger.

Well I heard Colin Cowherd on the radio say a few months ago there are four key positions you need to build a team around and must be willing to pay for: QB, LT (or RT for left-handed QB's), CB, DE He said a top-flight WR is becoming important, but you can still get around this. He put them slightly below the top four positions, but above the rest.

My only memories of him was when I was younger in the 80's and lived in the Buffalo area. Saw him on the newscast each night on channel 2 (NBC, WGRZ). My family liked NBC for local news better than CBS or ABC (Fox didn't exist back then), the weaker broadcast signal notwithstanding. Plus, that was the network that covered the AFC back then. [BTW, hope that newbie poster from a week back or so doesn't object to my using "notwithstanding" above, and relegating this to a dress stitching forum, lol.]
