  1. Gary Anderson was drafted by Buffalo in the 7th round in 1982, when they were 12 rounds. He sandbagged his way out of Buffalo and got cut in the pre-season, only to go on to Pittsburgh and become one of the greatest kickers in NFL history. But he was just a 7th round pick, so nothing to cry about. I am so glad we got Scott Norwood a few years later instead. He did so much better. He kicked the game-winning walk-off field goal for us in SB XXV!, our first of four straight Super Bowl wins! Oh wait...
  2. Yeah, I am quoting myself, but I still have 0.5 days left to see if this thread gets closed. It's just going to be an endless debate with attacks, accusations, and everyone on both sides getting pissed off. I don't see anything good coming from this thread.
  3. I don't see anything wrong with his post. He was just making a statement of fact. Now this is way over the top and unwarranted.
  4. Kobe Bryant, Ray Lewis, and Ben Roethlisberger beg to differ.
  5. Dan Gilleon is getting blasted on his twitter feed, but really no bad reviews on his Yelp page.
  6. The ideal situation would be for the league to give us a roster and salary-cap exemption to carry Ariaza until Martin's contract is up. So, we get to carry 54 players. Absent that, a 4th round comp pick would do.
  7. Yep, when Michael Irvin was vindicated in 1996 or 1997, he told the media repeatedly: "Don't lose the intensity! Don't lose the intensity! [when reporting this news]. He was indignant.
  8. I agree for this reason. And it's become a witch hunt. And for a lot of political stuff being posted too.
  9. Heck, if he outperforms Martin, he gets the job.
  10. I agree...except Beane was the one who cut him (albeit under public pressure...he still might have anyway though). I think it's standard, until the process plays out. I think it's with pay?
  11. I'm thinking she would declare bankruptcy in that case to get out of paying. Is that possible?
  12. Well...I give to over/under to this thread being shut down for not contributing positively to the community here 1.5 days.
  13. And Beane needs to do better investigations. Apparently, at least two other teams knew of the allegations. Those teams should have some liability for not informing the NFL, so they could warn others.
  14. Uh...looks like a Cleveland Browns helmet. Nice attempt, but I'll pass.
  15. I am not sure if anybody here on TBD accused him. I wasn't, buy many were going by an allegation that he admitted having sex with her, which is, by definition, statutory rape in California. I am still angry we let him go. It won't happen, but the fair thing would be for the NFL to award us a 5th 4th round comp pick in 2024.
  16. Most likely her parents have homeowner's insurance, which would cover this (I think).
  17. Irvin was falsely accused of sexual assault in 1996: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Irvin "Fabricated sexual assault allegation against Irvin" [excerpt from wikipedia:] "In 1996, as the Cowboys prepared to play the Carolina Panthers in the NFC Divisional Playoff game, media reports stated that Irvin and teammate Erik Williams, while under the influence of cocaine, had sexually assaulted a Dallas Cheerleader, Nina Shahravan, and, with a gun to her head, videotaped the interaction. Despite Williams' and Irvin's denials of the allegations, the story largely overshadowed the game, which the Cowboys lost. The accuser was later proven to have fabricated the entire incident. She recanted her story, pled guilty to perjury and filing a false police report, and was sentenced to 90 days in jail and a fine.[16] In the game against Carolina, Irvin was injured in the opening minutes and did not return." He overcame this and continued a successful career with the Cowboys for three more years and then went on to a successful career in sports broadcasting. So, so can Matt Araiza, hopefully with Buffalo.
  18. Would it make sense to bring him this preseason to compete with Martin? He would a cheaper option.
  19. These are all good points, and I agree Josh is the slightly better QB. But it's a little unfair to compare Burrow's first three seasons and not Allen's first three. Plus, Burrow led his team to a SB already with a newer coach. That's what the critics would say.
  20. Not so sure about that. Cincy plays eight playoff teams from last year this season (Baltimore x2, KC, Jax, SF, Minnesota, Seattle, and us) and we play nine. Buffalo may have a slightly tougher division, but some are saying Pittsburgh will make the playoffs this year, and Cleveland will be much better now that Watson will have a full season. Of course, a lot of things change once the season begins, but I think the Bengalis have only a slightly easier schedule than we do.
  21. Your answers more of less agree with the article, with the Patriots being the exerts' choice for question 5, and no best QB division for question 2, except not the AFC E.
  22. Except KC has only lost once in December in the last four seasons (at Cincinnati last year). Better to play them early?
  23. These are two rumors posted regarding the schedule, one from a German newspaper and the other from Joey Porter, Jr.: Chicago vs. Kansas City in Germany (Allianz Arena, Munich) - Week 10 - November 12 New Orleans vs. New England in Germany (Allianz Arena, Munich) - Week 11 - November 19 Jacksonville at Pittsburgh - Week 4 1. German newspaper: https://www.bild.de/sport/american-football/nfl/nfl-irre-summe-was-das-deutsche-nfl-spiel-an-kohle-gebracht-hat-83782100.bild.html [one free article allowed] [in German:] "This year, two NFL games will take place in Germany, this time in Frankfurt. As BILD had already reported in February, the Kansas City Chiefs will play the Chicago Bears and the New England Patriots will play the New Orleans Saints. The dates are scheduled for 12 and 19 November. The official schedule will be presented in the coming days." 2. Comment by Joy Porter, Jr. on post in Jacksonville Jaguars' Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/CrohkBgAOt-/?hl=en Comment by Joey Porter, Jr. of Pittsburgh congratulating his college teammate Parker Washington on being picked by Jacksonville:
  24. Yep, he did. Here is his top 10 in the AFC: 1. KC 2. Cincy 3. LA Chargers 4. Buffalo 5. Jax 6. Baltimore 7. Denver 8. NY Jets 9. Pittsburgh 10. Miami
  25. The Jets won't need any more hype. They are one of the SB favorites this year and expectations in New York are sky high. Moreover, the NFL wants the Jets to succeed early to be able to market them better later in the year, and beyond perhaps. With this in mind, Colin Cowherd said this morning he doesn't expect the Jets to face any difficult teams or situations early on. The NFL wants Rodgers to get his rhythm down. In the past, he always started slowly in the first year with a new coach or coordinator (even though he knows his new OC and some of his WR's). And Garrett Wilson is still young, as is Breece Hall. Thus, the NFL won't schedule games with Philadelphia early (imagine NY's poor OL facing Philly's front four), or at Miami in the heat, or KC. The Bills are also a no-no early since this would be a tough game for them.
