  1. He’s sticking to the same story he publicly stated years ago - he wants to keep playing until he’s 45. It won’t happen. In fact, if he somehow wins the Super Bowl this year then you bet your ass he’s retiring. Either way, the end is near
  2. Well my whole point is that I haven’t been very encouraged by Edmunds, especially when you see our stud MLB getting blocked 8 yards downfield like he was on Sunday. Its disappointing because trading up for him last year was supposed to solidify the position for years to come. I think his success is as in question, as Allen. I also don’t think we can afford to use our 1st round pick on a LB when there are so many pressing needs on offense
  3. There were much worse culprits than Allen yesterday. He continues to be the best player they have on offense. He did commit two bad INT’s, but you really can’t fault him. Also, I stand my claim that if Foster actually catches that long pass for a TD it’s a completely different game.
  4. Careful.....Josh Allen has taken a few cheap shots against NYJ (thought not as bad as Tre’s) and no players came to his defense. You can’t fault a player for not retaliating, there were also 9 other guys on the field who did nothing after as well Ok maybe not Preston, but a player in a similar situation. I just don’t feel so great about Edmunds and think the Bills need a legit Plan B if he continues to not pan out. A player like Julian Stanford was signed to play ST’s. You cant really rely on him on defense and we saw that this season. I also don’t think a mid to low round draft pick would do much. We need someone with decent NFL starting experience for depth that could be relied upon if necessary.
  5. Glad you mentioned Edmunds. I thought he was just terrible. Corey Thompson was terrible on the edge so Edmunds seems to get lost in the shuffle, but he is a pretty bad MLB.
  6. Again, this is hardly the worst thing anyone has said. People seem to be reaching to make something out of nothing I knew people would hate this idea because Preston is a former Bill. But this idea makes sense if you read what I originally wrote.
  7. Not really... I see a player who could be productive and a rookie MLB who is pretty underwhelming. If it’s not Brown, I would take a similar veteran MLB who could be reliable depth/fringe starter. IMO many fans overvalue what they have in Edmunds. I don’t think he’s very good
  8. Why Culley and Robiske? If anything Allen seemed to make progress throughout the year and Robiske seemed to do the best he could with limited talent. I would be fine if they did get rid of them but I’m not seeing as much of a compelling case.
  9. Right but people here also sound like it’s a guarantee Edmunds will be good. It’s far from a sure thing, and I’m concerned after seeing what appears to be a lack of progress over the course of the year. One thing that Edmunds has that the other don’t is better physical skills and a younger age. Again, people use his age as an excuse for poor play but it definitely is a factor. We’ll just have to hope for the best but I’m concerned about this position
  10. Sounds like the perfect type of character this organization is looking for ????
  11. He didn’t sleep with the enemy! He only talked about doing it ???
  12. People here are quick to dismiss your topic, but you raise some excellent points. There were opportunities to make plays - specifically as skill positions and the Bills talent let them down. 1 or 2 of their moments you referenced make it a game changer. I really think it’s a different and if Foster is able to catch the bomb from Allen. It would dictate a change in coverage for NE. Overall the game highlighted what we all ready know....The Bills need to get some help for Allen in 2019
  13. I guess - he was hoping to get signed by a Super Bowl contender. I don’t think it’s anything too crazy
  14. Again, we’re talking about a veteran depth player with proven experience in the role. You can’t have an entire roster of impact players. Exactly! That’s why they should sign him as a backup!!!!!
  15. I think this is what you were referring to. He was angling to play for New England. It’s pretty sad, but he didn’t really say anything negative about the Bills. Also laughable how he was talking about getting paid $8M A season. He got half that on a 1 year deal https://www.bostonherald.com/2018/02/28/lb-preston-brown-open-to-being-next-bills-player-to-leave-for-patriots/
  16. You make it sound like he’s a Brandon Spikes type LB. He’s certainly not blazing fast but he’s adequate enough to be a backup LB. Also, slow or not - Brown is much better against the run than Edmunds has been. Let me ask you this - are you more comfortable with Julian Stanford than Preston Brown? Remember this idea is based on the premise that he would be a backup, not a starter. Ok well either way - Brown was more productive in the same defense than Edmunds. Does Edmunds have better skills and athleticism? Absolutely, but there is no guarantee he’ll ever reach his potential
  17. He has bit on many fakes and has been behind on coverage at times. He’s been overall decent in coverage. i stand by my original statement, he has been dreadful in run support
  18. Explain how he did this? Also, remember I’m advocating signing him as a depth MLB. Like I said, I think he is an improvement over Standford even with his injury recovery.
  19. Right but remember a lot of that was because of the old owner who was very stubborn and particular with who he would hire. If the Bills needed a coach I don’t think Terry would hesitate to pay a good HC. Yeah I think so too, which is why I want hope it’s all BS but I doubt it
  20. Jets have denied it but there’s probably a lot of truth to the rumors.
  21. Yep in this scenario he’d be signed for depth. Still if feel much more confident in Brown at MLB than Julian stanford Look at Edmunds stats.... then look at Brown’s in 2017. Enough said
  22. I know some people will not be on board with this idea, that I know people will be against it but give it some though. I love the idea of the Bills re-signing Preston Brown to a 1 year deal. Brown will be a FA with Cincinnati after signing a 1 year deal worth only $4M. He is coming off season ending knee surgery but previously he played just about every game as a starting LB in Buffalo. Brown didn’t really get the attention in the open market which is why he signed a “prove it” deal. He’ll likely have to do the same next year and the Bills would be wise to offer a deal around or just under a few million. Brown was a good starter for McDermott’s defense. He was willing to lose significant weight to become more mobile and less of a “thumper.” He was not always the best in coverage but was good enough in most cases. I would sign Brown as a dependable backup at MLB. Keep in mind, a player like Edmunds has struggled all year long and struggled mightily yesterday against the run and pass. Brown would give the Bills insurance in those situations, he’d also be compentent enough at MLB to consider moving Edmunds to OLB if necessary. And he could play in the Nickel packages as well. The signing really gives the Bills a lot of flexibility. The other reason why I love the Brown signing is because he is everything at MLB that Edmunds is not... at least not yet. Brown was a pretty good run stuffer between the tackles. He’d take on blockers and get off blocks to make tackles. He read his keys, filled his lanes and didn’t shy away from contact. You didn’t see him get lost in coverage much because of mental errors. Edmunds isn’t at this point yet and yesterday was a prime example. What Edmunds has that Brown never had or never will is some freakish athletic skills which will be perfect in pass defense. Imagine if part of Brown’s role was to be a “Derek Anderson” for Edmunds? He definitely could learn from Brown. I would feel pretty good with this move.
  23. I hear you man. But the problem is, even though he’s 20, I’m not seeing much incremental improvement week-to-week like I have been seeing with guys like Allen or even a Tauren Johnson before he was hurt. He seems to be the same LB he was at the start of the season.
