EJ Manuel: What went wrong after year 1?
BillyWhiteShows replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The logic here is flawed, because you imply that EJ has the potential to be a great QB. Many draft analysts would disagree with that point. Many had EJ at a 3rd or 4th round talent level. My take is that he never was a 1st round pick to begin with. It was a total over-reach by the Bills and a really terrible idea. He never had the potential or talent to be a great QB in the first place, so your take about veteran QB’s and coaching is moot. -
https://www.newyorkupstate.com/expo/sports/erry-2018/12/e8b0c72f33ea4/what-bills-brian-daboll-said-a.html To anyone that doubts the interest in Brian Daboll as Head Coach next season, there have rumors and a reporter asked him about the opportunity. Daboll didn’t directly answer the question. He only said, “this is my hometown and I love it here” before trailing off. Call me crazy but I think there might be a chance (though not a huge one) that he gets a head coaching job.

EJ Manuel: What went wrong after year 1?
BillyWhiteShows replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The problem was that EJ never was a first round talent to begin with. 2013 was a very weak year for quarterbacks and rather than taking in the 3rd or 4th round, Buddy made him a 1st round pick which set the bar way too high to begin with. It didn’t help to have Whaley double down as trade for Sammy the next season. I don’t think anything went wrong for EJ. He just wasn’t good enough to be a starting QB in the NFL and the Bills were so desperate they reached huge for him. I do agree - he was put in a really bad situation though I doubt he had the talent to be a good NFL QB to begin with -
16 questions with Bills Legend Roscoe Parrish
BillyWhiteShows replied to TucsonBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would not say that people are hating. Just that the praise Parrish received recently here is a bit over the top. Calling him a “legend” or comparing his to Antonio Brown is a bit of a stretch don’t you think? I fell that most have Roscoe correctly pegged as a player that had a lot of potential but never put it all together in large part because of his numerous injuries -

Again, maybe it’s just me but “legend” is a bit of a stretch Thats ok, the original message made it hilarious ?? -

Ummmm I hope I never find out about any of the QB’s he “layed” with ???? As far as the QB’s he played with, fine, but consider Roscoe’s stats over the course of 16 games compared to Lee Evans. He consistently had higher numbers in receptions and yards. So while if the bad QB’s didn’t hinder Lee’s numbers very much, why did they hinder Roscoe’s? Again, my whole point is that some here are exaggerating Roscoe’s actual body of work for the team. I don’t quite get the comparisons either. They are both smaller, fast WR’s who are good punt returners but the production is no where near close -
...You mean including a player that’s actually underutilized!?!? I never said anything about contracts or about division rivals, just a player that’s under the radar and Drake fits the bill. I also feel that James White would be a good choice. Your joke about Mahomes wasn’t really smart, funny, or witty, which is why I appreciate those here who provided good choices. The hits keep on coming. I think some here missed their calling as comedy writers

16 questions with Bills Legend Roscoe Parrish
BillyWhiteShows replied to TucsonBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A bit of a hyperbole. Yes Roscoe has his issues with injuries especially toward the end of his career but read his stats. He did play a full 16 game season a few years and one 13 game season. Again, he never amassed more than 35 receptions. He usually was under 30. So again, you can say that he had potential or was a good route runner but to say “uncoverable” is a bit of an exaggeration. I wouldn’t say that a reciever with 30 receptions over 16 games was uncoverable. That’s the truth. My point is Bills fans sometimes look back and remember players for being better than they were I actuality -
16 questions with Bills Legend Roscoe Parrish
BillyWhiteShows replied to TucsonBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The difference is that Hester and others have about three times the returns that Parrish does. Why? Because he was often injured and didn’t get the chance at as many returns. Also you say he could catch the football? His best season was about 35 catches. Again, people are exaggerating his abilities here as they often do with former Bills players. I will say that he had the potential to be a really good gadget player if he could stay healthy. But the comparisons to Antonio Brown are revisionist history. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/P/ParrRo00.htm Success as a slot reciever? Since when does less than 35 receptions in a year equate success. He was an OK reciever that never really made a significant impact. -

Its really hard to call Roscoe Underrated because he was always injured. pretending that a former Bills player was better than he actually was is just revisionist history -
I often find myself thinking that a certain role player would be perfect on the Bills. It’s not usually an All-Pro or even a standout player. But a guy who flies under the radar as a role player that would be ideal for the Bills. My choice is Kenyon Drake in Miami. I feel he is criminally underutilized in Miami, as bruiser backs like old Frank Gore or Brandon Bolin get more carries than Drake. I doubt Miami would trade w/n the division but man I would love to see Drake in Buffalo. I would make Drake the feature back in the Bills offense. He could carry the load at RB and could help Allen in the short passing game to beat the blitz. who are some other options?

Edited title: Winds of Change for AFC East

This song is atrocious but so bad, it’s almost good. The lyrics are so cheesy. Just like Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing.” -

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001004510/article/nfl-head-coach-candidates-names-to-know-for-this-hiring-cycle So I’m reading this article on NFL.com for head coaching candidates. They basically name a ton of candidates, some of which probably won’t get any interviews. So take it for what it’s worth. But they list Leslie Frazier as a potential candidate for Bills HC: “Leslie Frazier, Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator, 59: Longtime NFL assistant was 21-32-1 with one playoff appearance in Minnesota (2010-13). Brings a calming presence. Interviewed with the Colts in February.” Ironically they don’t mention Brian Daboll who some have speculated could interview for openings this season. They did reference former Bills DC George Edwards who currently is the DC in Minnesota (though Zimmer runs the defense.). I just remember that George’s defense in Buffalo was absolutely terrible and unlike Minnesota, he was the only one calling the plays. Chan’s loyalty to stick with George a year longer than he should have was a big factor in his failure in Buffalo. Pretty confident George is not a HC in 2019: George Edwards, Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator, 51: Biggest factor working against him is Mike Zimmer calls the defense. Plays a big role in game plan. Interviewed with the Bears a year ago and impressed. There are some names that I think will be legit contenders and others that I’m not quite sure are on the list.

I thought this was a completely BS lawsuit but these two might actually have a case. If what they allege is true, it’s not as though they were chanting racial slurs or anything overly offensive. Also I’m not sure their behavior warrants the physical reaction from the security they received. To me it seems as though the security overreacted, but again it’s their perspective so what know what really happened. In the grand scheme of things yelling “you f’n suck” to a team as they enter the tunnel seems like the least of the problems that could occur on a stadium of 80,000 people

Looks like Shady will be a Bill in 2019
BillyWhiteShows replied to Starr Almighty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah this title is a bit misleading because it’s not like McDermott said he would definitely be on the roster in 2019. He alluded to the fact but again, he spoke mostly in generalities. Not sure what they’ll do yet but this quote is a far from a certainty that he’s on the team next season -
Brady says he plans to play in 2019 and beyond...
BillyWhiteShows replied to The Senator's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We’ll see, but I get the impression that he wants to go out a winner. Things are definitely trending downward and I think we all can see it. If he wins the Super Bowl this year, I would bet he calls it a career but we’ll see
