  1. I didn’t take his original opinion as race baiting in any way. I appreciated how he shares the topic. My main takeaway was that he wishes his race was better represented at the head coach position in the NFL. I get what he’s saying
  2. I think you need to watch again. He’s not implying that it was race related. Just that he wishes there would be more minority represention at HC. I get what he’s saying
  3. I like Nate Burleson a lot and think he’s smart and well-spoken. I guess of Good Morning Football he spoke on the topic on black coaches getting fired. He then recorded the video/tweet below as a way to continue the conversation. I think Nate did a great job presenting this topic and more diversity in leadership positions would be a great thing. In the video he cites the Wilkes and Joseph firings as being premature. I think the problem is that both coaches were not good fits for the situations they were stepping in. It is certainly interesting that these coaches lose their jobs, but the GM’s who made the bad hiring are in the clear. Then again, coaches like Jay Gruden, Doug Marrone (and to a lesser extent Jason Garrett) were given more time, when you could definitely make a case for all of them to be fired. So I’m curious to know what your thoughts are. here’s the tweet from today:
  4. Again, David Caldwell will Trade a Top 5 pick for a return of around a 3rd rounder. How he still has a job is beyond me!
  5. Thats how he does it. Take a look at the Rick Dennison firing. It takes a few days
  6. Barnwell is a biased, overly sensitive moron. I don’t care for him. That’s my opinion, and I’m sticking to it.
  7. Not me. Say what you will about Kiko but he is jacked. Even in his best shape, and with the super big helmet, I don’t think Kelso could take him
  8. BPA is a fallacy. Teams mostly draft out of need. If they didn’t you’d see teams take multiple QB’s high
  9. But the team was a dumpster fire this season and seems to be in disarray. Khan’s decision to keep continuity will be his undoing. If I was a Jags fan, I would be screaming this:
  10. You do realize this means David Culley is back in 2019?
  11. He’s got a pretty sweet deal. He’s basically a player/coach who gets paid the veteran minimum which is way higher than a QB Coach.
  12. Ok....so they got fired but will be paid millions of dollars to stay at home and NOT work for a few years. How can you not party!?!?! Im sure it’s a bummer, but most of these guys including Gase, will probably be better off in a new situation
  13. Ha! Well, I do think that Gase could be a good HC and is a great play caller. He definitely made some mistakes and didn’t get the most out Tannehill, so that was his undoing. He’s the type of coach I can see being better the second time around.
  14. A must hear clip! Kelso is angry at the Alonso. At the end, he says “I’m ready to go down their and take care of him.” LOL
  15. Right. This was a bad hire IMO from the start. I remember the Miami defense the year when Joseph was hired. They weren’t very good and were ranked like 30th in the NFL. Yet Elway thought it was a good hire to hire Vance.
  16. Yeah but then again, every analyst has missed. I think it’s hard to hold that against him. Also the draft projections are largely for entertainment purposes, I think it’s different when it’s your actual job.
  17. He explained it. McDermott said it was more important to given Kyle a Curtain call than it was to score points in that situation
  18. What do you mean a “terrible track record?” He’s never worked as an NFL executive
  19. Yeah I agree. We bicker and argue like the 1989 Bills at times but regardless of our opinions, it is always good to find a community of Bills fans to talk football with. Happy New Year and peace to everyone here
  20. Anyone who thinks 2019 will be McDermott’s last season have no idea they type of influence he has at One Bills Drive. Remember, when he came into Buffalo Terry gave him a ton on control and after his hiring you saw a lot of big changes happen within the organization which you could assume had his finger prints on (firing Whaley and Berchtold, bringing in Beane and Boyko). A 6-10ish season was definitely expected to clean up the cap, and I have no doubt that Terry is anything but 100% supportive of McDermott. Especially given the progression of Josh Allen. Anyone who who thinks a coach with this much power and reverence by ownership would suddenly be on “thin ice” next season is crazy. Short of a 0-16 season, I don’t see how McDermott and Beane don’t get 2020, and they’ll likely get to finish out their contract in 2021.
  21. You are too hard on McDermott. Also what does “winning NFL coach” mean? Are you looking for a retread like Mike McCarthy?
  22. Can Lamar Jackson though? His stats look similar to Tyrod, minus the occasional deep ball
  23. The original idea here does make a lot of sense. I couldn’t stand a few years back when fans would repeat Russ Brandon’s BS corporate mantra of “we need continuity.” It’s the biggest fallacy ever. If you have the wrong coach in place, and keep him there for the sake of continuity, the only thing that continues are the unacceptable losing. Jacksonville and maybe Miami are great examples of why a team should move on from a coach. The part with McDermott is an absolute joke though.
