  1. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been re-examining the 2018 draft to read the evaluations of Josh Allen. In doing so, I came across the article below which included the drama which came out about the old Josh Allen tweets. Back then I felt that it should have been a non-issue considering that date of the original tweet and the fact that what we wrote was seemingly meant in jest. https://sports.yahoo.com/offensive-tweets-josh-allen-surface-hours-nfl-draft-024847843.html Fortunately Allen and the Bills both handeled that situation very well and rightfully it’s now a dead issue. We’ll never know who exactly leaked the tweets. What we do know is that Allen’s management team had him delete the tweets last January as he was preparing the process of entering the NFL draft. It’s no coincidence that the screenshot of the old tweets were released just 24 hours before the actual draft. These screen caps of deleted tweets didn’t just randomly appear the day before the draft for no reason. But what do you think was the motivation for doing it? I have thought of 2 possible scenarios: 1.) Malice - someone (either a fan, competing agent, or journalist) was holding onto these tweets for months (maybe years) and waited until the last minute to release them to the press to hurt Allen’s draft status, in turn costing him millions of dollars and potentially sabotaging his career before it gets started. 2.) Strategy - the tweets were strategically released by a competing agent or an executive of an NFL team positioned toward the bottom of the draft. The idea would be that the negative press would scare the teams at the top away, allowing Allen to fall to the bottom of the Round 1 much like Laramie Tunsill. Essentially they would get a Top 10 pick at the bottom of the round without having to trade up. There’s also the potential it could have been a strategic reason by a competing agent. With Allen dropping, it could allow other clients (possibly other highly rated QB’s) the opportunity to get taken higher, make and more money, which in turn allows the agency to profit. I would like to think that members of NFL teams are on the up-and-up and would never stoop to such unethical measures for professional gain, but I’ve been surprised before. Any any other suggestions? Either way, whether it’s Allen or Tunsill, I think the way that people deliberately try to make these young athletes look bad is terrible. Especially when you consider the type of character than Allen appears to have shown this season. Very glad this behind both of those athletes and I hope behavior like this does not become common before the draft.
  2. Probsbly makes more as an independent consultant/QB coach too
  3. Where Rusty Jones when you need him!?!?!
  4. There were a handful of runs right up the guy too and you can visible see Edmunds getting blocked out of the play. He was responsible to fill those holes and he did a really terrible job. Until he gets that part of his game taken care of, I think the jury is still out
  5. I think he’s staying LOL????????
  6. Imagine having to fire Terry. He looks like such a nice, grandfatherly type. It would be tough
  7. We have no idea what happened. Like someone said, he is 65 years old Haha I know. It was a joke
  8. It doesn’t sound like it, though nothing has been announced
  9. New WR and ST coach.....Steve Tasker
  10. Except it really isn’t. We don’t quite know whether you can attribute the improvement to Terry or something else. We have to trust the decision. Seems like McDermott has been pretty good with his staff so far
  11. Disappointed to read someone with an unbelievable name was fired today. I guess Joey Clinkscales, who was Reggie McKenzie’s right hand man in Oakland was axed today. To be honest, I never knew that he even existed by his name sounds like a character from Goodfellas.
  12. At least it wasn’t as bad as this guy below. It’s parody account that is no unfunny, you can hardly tell it’s satire: I guess a bunch of fans created their own make believe network called GGSN. Kind of cute, kind of scary:
  13. Good summary. My concern is, if he isn’t the run stuffing thumper, than how the is defense going to stop running attacks like we saw in New England? He definitely needs to improve in this area
  14. I was very critical of Edmunds this season. Yes he is 20 years but it seems like every time he screwed up that’s all people would say and it became a bit of a cop out. There were a lot of times when he was the biggest weak link on the defense both in pass defense and against the run. I am a bit concerned about his ability to fill holes, take on and get off blocks to make tackles. I think a lot of the yardage on the ground is a result of his struggles to successfully stuff the run. But when you look at his work over the course of 15 games, I think like Allen there is a reason to be optimistic, though I feel he has a long way to go.
  15. No it isn’t. There’s turnover every year on NFL Coaching staffs, especially for teams that finish 6-10.
  16. Heres the ironic thing though. Jerry has the second fewest sacks in this group and half as many as Ford, Watt, and Jones who have the same amount of pressures. Donald: 21.5 sacks, 106 pressures Cox: 10.5 sacks, 95 pressures Ford: 13 sacks, 78 pressures Watt: 16 sacks, 75 pressures Hughes: 7 sacks, 74 pressures Jones: 15.5 sacks, 73 pressures Graham: 4 sacks, 70 pressures Anyone know why Jerry isn’t getting actual sack numbers the way that Jones and Watts are? I can recall a few times when he has come close to a sack but didn’t finish the play. Anyone know why his actual sack numbers were so low this season and last?
  17. Nice to see “Mr Grand Island” Joe Marino has a podcast
  18. I get the impression they are leaning toward keeping him to atleast compete for the 2nd CB position, unless there’s a CB they really like at 9
  19. Yes he has. I was in the camp that wanted Rosen but was basing that purely on the majority of the coverage I was reading online. Most of the coverage was terrible on Allen and analysts were predicting that he would bust before he threw a pass. I also knew that there must have been a reason why several teams were high on him, despite the negative press from people like Jon Ledyard and “Mr. Grand Island” Joe Marino. I still dont know whether he will work out but I think we can agree that for the most part he exceeded the very dismal future that many predicted.
  20. So now what will the excuses be from the “Anti-Josh Allen” camp? - “He only did that because he was playing Miami and they suck.” - “He still was inaccurate” - “He threw a terrible pick six” - “He’s a great runner but will never be an accurate passer”
  21. I tend to agree, though I do think the touch argument is a bit played out. The recievers on the Bills A.) need to adjust for harder thrown balls B.) aren’t the most skilled pass catchers. This was constantly reinforced to me anytime I watched good offenses play this season. Even from very good QB’s like Brady, Mahomes, Watson etc, passes we’re not always between the numbers, but receivers made some great adjustments or by diving or leaping for the ball. Allen probably is never going to be the most accurate QB in terms of ball placement, so it will be important to find my recievers with good hands/catch radius
  22. Right, but it goes back to the Chris Ballard argument from last season. If you trade back in the draft, you lose out on a “premium pick.” So if you trade back, you have to consider what you’re missing out on by doing so. Basically the return has to be excellent, unless you don’t rank any top prospects
  23. Ha! Ok how about in your opinion? It might be Jason Croom? Of course, when he’s not so sure handed after he makes the catch!
  24. Came across this the other day. It begs the question, who is the most surehanded reciever on the Bills roster? Ouch
  25. Right, but McDermott made the picks...not Whaley. Also if you want to credit Whaley for the picks, you also have to fault him for not taking Mahomes or Watson. Add that to Whaley’s resume.
