  1. A big part of not selecting a QB in 2017 was the Pegula’s fault. McDermott is a defensive guy so it’s no surprise he elected to trade down. A big part of the problem was Whaley. He should have been fired in January and many have speculated that Terry and Kim kept him around until after the draft because of their friendship with him. If you bring a real GM in here in January then maybe they do a number of different things . Even if Whaley was a true GM, many have said he loved Mitch Trubisky and likely would have tried to do whatever it took to get him. Also, like people have already said, if it was known that Mahomes would develop into the QB that he looks to have become he’s go #1 overall. It’s so easy to look at things in hindsight, for some really it happens all the time with the Bills fans. It just doesn’t seem like the Jaguars, Jets, or Browns (Who also passed in the 2017 draft) fans pine for Mahomes the way some Bills fans do.
  2. He did have a spectacular fumble
  3. But doesn’t the fact that McVay was willing to move on from Sammy after 1 season speak volumes as well? I think that LA felt the same way a lot of Bills fan do, he’s just not good enough to get the money he wants. I have no animosity toward him. I just don’t think he was anywhere near as good as his hype, and even when he was healthy he never seemed to step up and take over games the way that a #1 WR usually does.
  4. No, but Sammy’s health is part of the equation. He’s been hobbled by injuries, so going forward I’ll take Foster’s upside and meager salary over Watkin’s injuries and bloated salary. He’s not worth the $$$$
  5. Right and he had a few costly drops in the NFC divisional playoff. He’s a good WR at full strength, but a considerable notch below the upper echelon reciever class in the NFL. Certainly he did not live up to his draft status. Like Rick said....”another Whaley gem.”
  6. Funny because Robert Foster as a UDFA was more productive than Sammy. If you are thinking 2014 Sammy Watkins, then maybe you are right, but 2018 Sammy Watkins can’t stay on the field.
  7. Dennsion’s Offense was just as bad. The difference is he had an experience QB, better OL, and a decent running game. Daboll started the year with a rookie QB, terrible OL, and worse receiving prospects. By the end of the year you saw gains in 2 out of the 3 areas (OL was still bad.). That’s a credit to Daboll.
  8. Coaching is an old boys club. Guys get fired and rehired all the time. Wouldn’t surprise me if there was a connection/mutual friend between him and Kitchens.
  9. Rick Dennison as OC = “Baaaaaaaaaad Things Man!” He was a terrible OC and rightfully fired
  10. No you are wrong, and this confirms it. He was hired on May 9, 2017. The NFL Draft was between April 27-29. Whaley was fired on April 30. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2017/05/09/buffalo-bills-hire-brandon-beane-as-general-manager/101486776/ I’ll wait for my apology. You are right...I’ll got further to say it’s not just Andy Reid. It’s also: - a great OL - one of the NFL’ s Top running games (before Hunt got released) - perhaps the best set of starting skill players - Great minds like Matt Nagy and Alex Smith (2017) Not to take anything away from Mahomes, but his success IMO was the perfect combo of time, talent, and team.
  11. And this was Doug’s Whaley alleged first choice for a Head Coach....after Rex ?
  12. When you gonna stop ducking my questions Gungy?
  13. He did not. He simply verified that Juan Castillo was fired on One Bills Live
  14. I think you’re “Really?” comment, shows that it is. By the way it’s a different topic. There are multiple threads about the same player or topic here.
  15. Thanks for the sarcasm We found it. The coaches are removed on the page but it’s odd because there’s no formal mention of the moves by the team or McDermott
  16. Yeah so that’s not true: https://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports/nfl/lions/2018/11/05/detroit-lions-fire-special-teams-coordinator-joe-marciano/1898566002/
  17. Look at his QB’s....Kaepernick, Tyrod, Lamar. All great on the run and limited passers. I think he gets the most out of these types of mobile passers. Roman’s the right coach for Lamar, though it does make you wonder if he can get him to become a different QB, or if he’ll stay with the run-heavy, option offense.
  18. Very bad comparison. Yeah it’s not really a ridiculous deal and they can get out of it after year 2. Anderson was signed for an extra year, for more guaranteed money than Murphy and this was nearly a decade ago. Plus as disappointing as Murphy has been, he triple the production of Anderson’s only season with the Bills in limited time. Also Anderson was signed to a 4 year deal and was so bad, he never played in the league again after year 1. They ate dead cap space for years since he was so bad. If you want to say both players are examples of disappoint FA Defensive Ends, then fine. But...these more are not the same. Anderson was worse
  19. So is it even certain that Harbaugh is back? Roman got a raw deal in Buffalo. I still think he’s a good OC. Really has never had a great QB to work with.
  20. I just think it’s weird.... make an announcement and let people know
  21. Do you honestly think he has s huge rookie season in Rick Dennison’s offense throwing to a rookie Zay Jones and Charles Clay as his top targets? I think Mahomes has a ton of talent but he was in a really good situation in KC, which contributed to his huge success
