  1. Matt Milano was (arguably) the best player on the Bills 2nd ranked defense. Seems like he's being casually dismissed. I'm just not keen on drafting a 6'1 LB at 9.
  2. I've been all about Tyre Brady since you pointed him out in a different thread. A little disappointed he was a DNP in the 40 and 3 cone drill. Probably in the 4.7 40 range. Ran a sufficient 4.25 20 yard shuttle. He's a much better football player than he is a workout warrior. Best hands in the draft. Think some team is going to get a steal in the 5th or 6th.
  3. I really don't care about the jacket fiasco. Haven't heard much criticism of his work ethic, etc. I would definitely like this pick and see it as a good possibility at 9.
  4. My rebuttal would be that his straight line speed makes him a threat to score on every play, especially if you pair him with Josh Allen. That makes it impossible for a corner to "cheat." Also taking into account his frame, a quick cut isn't nearly as essential as it is for an average sized receiver. He can simply outbody people on deep outs, curls, etc.
  5. James would be the better option, but Maxx Williams would be dirt cheap and is a strong blocker. Wouldn't be disappointed if we signed either one provided we're going to draft one of the better TE's in the draft. That's where it gets tricky though. I think the only "judicious" method to acquire either Fant or Hock is to trade back and that requires a second party. Hock doesn't provide enough value at 9 and he and Fant will be gone by our second pick. Irv Smith does nothing for me and there are no other top tier TE'S worthy of that 2nd. There will be some options in the 3rd. So now I've convinced myself that they need to be pretty heavy on James as a fallback as Williams doesn't provide nearly enough as a receiver. Ideally, you go into the draft with some flexibility.
  6. Oh, I know as well you do as an opposing fan that Gary wasn't necessarily wasn't tasked with "making plays." I'm not saying he wasn't an effective college player. Just not the kind of true difference maker you look for at 9 IMO.
  7. The adage that it starts with the trenches is as true defensively as it is offensively. Couple thoughts; as soon as you believe one side of the field is "fine," they're suddenly not. Secondly, you never want to reach with a top ten pick. Wouldn't dislike a trade back, but if the clear BPA is a defensive lineman, that's who you take.
  8. Not surprised honestly. He'll impress at the combine. I'm still very leery of a guy that never really made plays at the collegiate level. And this is coming from a guy who watches every single UM game. I hope you're correct.?
  9. Not quite THAT bullish on Fant, but I think there's a good chance he's a better NFL receiving TE than Hock.
  10. I'm late to the party, but really disappointed in the bench reps from Cody Ford(19) and Juwuan Taylor(24). Williams put up 23 and Dillard put up 24. A G Ford's size should be throwing up 28 and a tackle Taylor's size should be throwing up 27. Dillard and Williams did well for themselves, but I don't think any of the offensive lineman are particularly appealing in the first. We'll get better value in the second.
  11. I think Josh Allen and Josh Allen are better than Bosa.
  12. It depends. If Rosen doesn't pan out and Murray is a superstar, it's an excellent proactive move.
  13. Right. The return will largely depend on the number of interested parties as the Cardinals themselves won't have much leverage were they to draft Murray.
  14. Yep. You don't want to be impetuous, but you also don't want to stick with a guy too long. Dolphins should have moved on from RT a few years ago and I believe Tennessee should move on from MM.
  15. You just have to insert Parris into every post, dont you!?
  16. I would say the comment regarding immobility had more to do with the personal eye test. He had an AWFUL line, but would also stand there like a sitting duck ala Rob Johnson. I knew he was slow, but he was also projected as the most pro ready. I expected to see better awareness(again my limited perception.) A QB needn't be athletic to be "mobile" in the pocket. It's been said that Tom Brady is the most "mobile" QB in the NFL with the little shimmies and such. I wouldn't rule out Rosen developing as that would be premature. My OPINION is that he doesn't have what it takes to be a top flight QB. He was actually the QB I wanted in the draft, and fully expect at least one team to chalk it up to rookie season/horrible supporting cast. That also presumes the rumors are true and the Cards take Murray. Time will tell.
  17. Could be the case and I'm sure there are plenty of teams with that line of thinking if he really is available. As much as I personally didn't see it in Rosen, I doubt he goes for less than a late first.
  18. I don't know which was more shocking; Josh Allen's supreme mobility or Josh Rosen's extreme immobility. If a QB is that limited athletically, he's got to have well above average awareness/ability to slide in the pocket ala Brady and Brees. The Cardinals line was trash, but Rosen didn't appear to have any of that slow man's mobility in the games I watched.
  19. So we shouldn't write off a 2018 NFL MVP candidate just yet?
  20. Take your point, but Robby Anderson is a pretty formidable WR in his own right. The Jets would definitely be a tough match-up in the pass game with Metcalf/Anderson at flanker.
  21. Yeah. I amended it. Ha. Damn shame. Imagine Allen, Edmunds, and Metcalf all in a Bills uni. Nobody could say we weren't "talented."
  22. I'm starting to think Metcalf won't even be there at 9. I'm all in if he's there. The upside is through the roof. There is no such thing as a sure thing in the draft, so why not swing for the fences?
  23. I'm very interested in guys like Marquis Brown and Paris Campbell. It seems as though the more intricate modern passing schemes require guys that can get in and out of cuts and gain true separation. Size still has value, but not nearly as much as it did in the past where many attemps were go up and get it jump ball plays. Metcalf is just a freak so he's in a league of his own, but I'm not enamored with Harry or Butler. AJ Brown looks like a more fluid athlete than either if you're looking for a more prototypical WR. Campbell could very have a Cooks/Hill like impact.
  24. Something about the idea of taking Hockenson at 9 is irksome. The three best TE's(Ertz, Gronk, Kelce) were all taken in the 2nd/3rd round. I feel like the Bills would be giving up a lot of capital in the hopes that becomes as good as guys that were taken much later. I like Hock quite a bit. I don't like Hock at 9.
