  1. He's going to the Raiders. What does that tell you? Salt on the wound fellow "Vegan." I'm gonna go to every game and boo him mercilessly. That'll show him!
  2. If they make an offer, I sure as heck hope it doesn't go public because I don't think OBJ would play here either. I'm just trying to be realistic. That would be a double whammy PR nightmare.
  3. This 100 percent. I'm glad Beane is willing to take a shot on a marquee player with some character issues. This is a football team, not an advocacy group. I'm disappointed how things turned out and how it may affect other FA's. At the same time, I have MORE faith that Beane knows he's got to think outside the "culture" box in order to become a winner.
  4. This will probably be very unpopular, but I think the only way to overcome the weather/small market impediments is to draft/acquire players with cache. I know many fans my age don't like some of the younger fellas antics, but those kind of players will make Buffalo a more attractive free agent destination. And I fully agree with the poster who cited the social media mockery of the situation potentially factoring into Brown's decision. Of course winning is the ultimate cure all, but winning requires talent. Every team needs a couple dirtbags and a couple characters.
  5. AB nixed a trade when it's clear there aren't very many suitors. Not like he was a free agent. I would have thought he'd love to play with a QB like Allen. I will say this; Buffalo will never be a glamour city, but winning solves a lot of free agency/reputation woes. So as to your statement, just win baby!
  6. Yep. Unfortunately, we are at a disadvantage in terms of acquiring players. Sad but true. I'm impressed that Beane was willing to go out on a limb and take a shot on a less than perfect human for the betterment of the team. It's unfortunate that it didn't come to fruition, but very happy with Beane.
  7. My recommendation would be to see if there are any alternatives to this particular school assignment.
  8. Nevada has legalized marijuana but the major employers still test and deny applicants for positive tests. I believe federal legalization is right around the corner. Certainly with the next political administration whether that be 2020 or 2024. It's just asinine for the NFL to concern themselves with something as harmless as marijuana while hooking players on much more destructive opiates. For the record, I do not smoke weed and really can't stand it. I prefer to get obliterated on booze.
  9. Exactly. If they DON'T make some big time moves, they're wasting cap space. They should be big time players in free agency with the QB on a rookie contract and tons of space.
  10. I'm not at all surprised the Bills are interested in Paradis. They should be. I'm more curious as to how interested Paradis is in the Bills. Seems like he wants to be a Bronco but MONEY talks.
  11. I'm speaking more of the bogeyman version of socialism that's being portrayed. These programs would all quality. You're likely referencing government controlling the means of production and such, which very few understand on either side of the aisle.
  12. It's certainly not capitalism. SSDI/SSI are definitely "socialistic" and redistributive as is Medicaid/Medicare. These programs have been around for quite a while. The debate is really about how to handle these programs, many of which have been around since the 1940's.
  13. Yeah. He ran a 4.65. I know he was one of those players that was ultra productive in college/questionable NFL projection. Still a bit surprised that he's basically off the map.
  14. I really can't believe how far Bennie Snell has fallen. After the season, some considered him a 2nd round pick. Now he's not even a top 20 back? He had a terrible combine, but that's pretty crazy. I would love to snag him in the 7th or as an UDFA if these reports are accurate.
  15. On a special teams play IIRC. Terrible call as well.
  16. Didn't he have some off field issues as Mayor of San Francisco? Excellent on ball defender though. In all seriousness, I'll never question McBeane's CB assessment. They took a shot on Davis, but that was their ONLY miss.
  17. We've had elements of socialism since the 1940's. Social security, federal minimum wage, medicare, medicaid, unemployment. The debate is whether or not we want to embrace and add to those programs or start gutting them.
  18. I'm honestly stunned that BB would go out of his way to slay Casserly. That seems uncharacteristic. I'm used to the Belichick that talks about our backup tight ends like they're a match up nightmare.
  19. I do actually. He was a bit flamboyant so it turned some people off, but nobody can question his loyalty to the city and the team that drafted him. A California kid repping Buffalo. He seems like a terrific human being. He was the first name I thought of when I heard of Phillips efforts. Will it pan out? Nobody knows. But I think it's especially important for a small market team to have guys spreading positivity.
  20. The coach may very well believe Rosen is not the right guy for his offense. I wasn't declaring Rosen a bust or projecting Murray as a franchise QB(although my OPINION is that he'll be a special player.) Just chiming in on the Cardinals situation. Maybe they'll trade Rosen and live to regret it. Who knows?
  21. The one card they would still have negotiation wise is the "we'll just keep both" schtick. It wouldn't be an ideal situation, but it's a chip. Main point I'm trying to make is that while it's not some genius move to send these smokescreens, the org. may as well play the game as long as possible. Same reason the Browns didn't just come out and say they were taking Mayfield.
  22. I like him as a prospect, but I'm leery of the production. 8.5, 4.5, and 10 sacks for a pass rusher with his build are not impressive. Didn't put up big TFL numbers either.
  23. You can't possibly dismiss an entire draft. It makes no sense. As much faith as I have in McBeane, they're entering win now mode.
