  1. Brees is slipping right now, but I don't really disagree with anything you said. Drew seems to have gone downhill since that whole silly in game ceremony. Not a fan of those.
  2. Not quite sure that anyone has ever had such an underwhelming college career as a top recruit that ended up flourishing at the NFL level. I would be shocked if it's ever happened. He would most certainly be a complete outlier if he keeps it up.
  3. When you see a strange spread like that, there's usually a reason.
  4. This must be a generational/cultural thing because the younger people I know love them and call them dope. I'm neutral. They flash out at the beginning of the game but seem to look worse as it goes on. Kind of weird.
  5. Every metric matters. Fitztragic and his INT's will always rear their ugly head when it matters most. But the guy can be a prolific passer.
  6. Zay Jones is starting to remind me waaaaaaay too much of Josh Reed, and not in a good way. I really like the kid, but he's got to start catching the football.
  7. YPA is right on par with completion percentage as a metric. Who cares if you go 1 for 2 if you hit an 11 yarder to move the sticks?
  8. That was NOT the Stevie Johnson game. I think Stevie was about 13 when the game referenced was played.
  9. I thought this was gonna be the setup to a joke about them walking into a bar. I'm starting to sour on Jones, Foster is improving every week, and McKenzie looks like he'll stick as well.
  10. The best get both. He's well on his way.
  11. If Zay Jones were not a draft pick, I wonder if he'd even be on the team. We all want the kid to succeed, but I'm getting really discouraged. A guy with his physical limitations MUST be sure handed.
  12. Pitts is such a dirty player. Poor Gronk was probably headed over to White to compliment him on the excellent coverage.
  13. Yeah. Like I said, they know much more than I do as a casual observer. If Allen feels like he's helpful, it's worth it to keep him around as a 1m mentor.
  14. I just don't get the mentor thing with Anderson. He isn't particularly bright and he seems like kind of a jerk. I know he doesn't really want to play anymore, but I also sort of question his commitment to the sport. It seems like he gained the reputation as mentor by virtue of being Cam Newton's backup for so many years. I could be wrong and McDermott knows a heck of a lot more than I do about what's going on, but I don't see it. Barkley appears to be the perfect back-up QB for this team and this situation.
  15. Absolutely. There were many times during the game where I was hoping and imploring(as if that makes a difference) them to let him sling it. I just don't know that the instant gratification would be worth the long term risk. He was considered a guy who needed time coming in and many feel it would have been better to let him sit. In a way, this is a perfect situation. He gets to face real bullets with a simplified game plan. Excellent analysis by the way.
  16. As fans, we all WANT to see Allen sling it 50 times a game, but it's probably wise long term to keep it relatively simple. He's getting invaluable experience and the last thing we need is to rattle his confidence or get him killed behind the OL.
  17. One of the few times they showed the downfield angle, Jones was running a go route matched up against Slay. It looked more like Slay was running the route and Jones was in coverage. I would ditch the go route for Zay unless he's matched up against a safety or a LB. Certainly not gonna work against a top athlete.
  18. I've been burned too many times to say Brady is done, but....Brady as an ELITE quarterback is DONE. He may have one last great postseason in him, but I doubt it. When it's over, it comes FAST. It doesn't usually happen incrementally. See Peyton Manning. I hope and expect Brady to come back next season and I don't expect them to win the SB. His ego, which aided his five SB wins, will also be the thing that prevents him from admitting to himself that it's over.
  19. Even a broken clock is right twice a day!
  20. There's absolutely zero reason not to give Lorax a one year deal. I think both parties would be fine with that. Great pickup by Whaley. Yes, he made a few!
  21. You really would have thought the Eagles would be dead tired after last week. They are defying all odds. They may not win, but they've got some serious fight. They won a title for a reason.
  22. Josh ALLEN has all the tools in the world. Looks more impressive physically than any of the rookies, including Baker. Baker has poise, but Allen has by far the most potential.
