Justin Houston released by Chiefs
BillsSB2020 replied to No_Matter_What's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly. In terms of acquiring pricey talent, this IS our window. They absolutely cannot afford to whiff this offseason. -
You know, the more I think about this, the more I think it's tied to technology and societal changes. With virtually everything available at your fingertips, there's far less need to actually attend these kind of events. Don't need to leave the house to buy things, watch things, etc. Not sure if it's good or bad, but this seems emblematic of the larger societal changes. The only value, as others have alluded to, is the player interviews.

Exactly. The post you quoted makes it seem like the skeptics among us don't want to see the Bills succeed. I'm starting to think there are some posters who would prefer to cry than see the Bills succeed. To each their own. I'll continue to call it like I see it. -
He started 7 games and threw for 1200 yards. That's 171/game. He played a few snaps in each of the other games, but nothing substantial. He wasn't a prolific passer, but that number is incredibly misleading.

Bills have interest in Seattle DE Frank Clark

I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I believe every team needs a few dirtbags. This is a little different than a guy with a dark past as a football "dirtbag" doesn't necessarily have to have off the field issues. Just so happens that they often do. Look at Cogs; tons of off the field issues but he brought a certain swagger/toughness to the offensive line. I believe we need more of that. -
What is the exact time negotiations can begin?

He's got 215 followers. That pretty much says it all. -
They drafted him in the first round and I don't think he gave them any reason to doubt he was the player they drafted. This is the kind of deal you swing with a QB on a rookie deal. Whatever TBD thinks of LJ, he's the Ravens guy so they're gonna operate accordingly.

If he doesn't sign his tag and actually holds out til the end like Bell, they won't have him for 16 games. If the Bills can do this deal for a swap, I'm all in. The D would go from rock solid to downright imposing with one move. -
I think Arians is gonna resurrect Jameis, but Vrabel is not gonna stake his claim to Mariota. I see them moving on from him. JMO. The Dalton/Tannehill model is really the worst; guys that are good enough to not dump but not good enough to get over the hump. That's why I want to surround JA with talent ASAP so we know what we have.

Take it to PPP buddy! -
If you listen to the AB interview, the thing that stuck in his craw was the public criticism/excuse making by Ben (However you spell his last name). Always been flamboyant, but never once heard a negative word about his football character before 2018 when the Steelers became a circus. Didn't work out, but I'm glad they tried. If they do go after OBJ or JJ, which I'd love, they damn well better find out if they wanna come to the B-LO. Cannot take another PR hit.

I was butthurt Friday night when I heard all the nonsense, but I got over it pretty quickly. So much is going to depend on Allen. The Chiefs are not as poorly regarded as the Bills, but they're kind of in the same obscure boat. When you have Patrick Mahomes, they become the talk of the league. If Allen is Mahomes,(or even close), good things will follow. But how are we gonna get those weapons if nobody wants to play here? The life of a Bills fan my man. We gotta hit on draft picks; point blank. -

It's odd when you see an argument and both parties are more or less in agreement. The draft will ALWAYS be the deciding factor in the Bills success or failure. It is what it is. -
I'll be fine if we actually land that stud WR. There are certainly no guarantees. To the point, I think if JA is the guy, AB wouldn't be able to derail his career via psychological mumbo jumbo. Overall, I would have liked the move, but whatever. I don't want to let yet another season pass with a crap supporting cast and more excuses than victories. Bottom line; they really need to hit on the WR they choose in the draft. I'm impressed that Beane went outside the character box, so that's the silver lining for me personally.

What's your off-season worst case scenario?
BillsSB2020 replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Based on the one tweet AB LIKED, he didn't want to play with Allen because he believed he was a run first passer. Guess he didn't understand we had no weapons or watch the last 6 games. It sucks that we don't play the Raiders this year so JA could give him the Rasmey treatment. We need to find guys that fit the scheme, but also not be hesitant to look for players with less than stellar reps. At the end of the day, talent wins. I think we'll have more success with Olinemen in FA'cy.
