  1. The way I look at it, it's really too early to say. The big money is pumping the line up, but I'd rather wait to see what the public is doing. Just my two cents.
  2. Yeah. I rarely do parlays but if I did, I'd be more inclined to take points. I even like to take 2nd halfs ML on a team that's already winning. I JUST got screwed on Florida International because I could have taken 2nd half plus 4.5 and won and basically lost because Toledo had a successful 2 pt conversion. Very annoying but you have to live with it.
  3. Thomas Smith is one of the most underrated Bills defensive players of all time. The guy was an absolute stud for a 4 or 5 year stretch. Hands of stone so he got zero love. My hunch is that he'd have gotten more props in the age of PFF.
  4. Exactly. It tests you in the moment but gambling like anything is all about the big picture. Of course you're pissed if the team loses by 2 catching 3 but if you have a long term strategy you just have to roll with it.
  5. I'm starting to go with far more moneyline dogs as opposed to taking the points. You have to learn to accept more losses but the hits are much better. I think it's a better approach.
  6. Are you sure it's not a Christmas SPIRIT that's hitting you? ? Go Bills!
  7. Clearly the Bills realized they couldn't part with one of their few pass rushers or they would have moved him. If the Rams wanted to get crazy and offer a first, Beane may have played ball. Otherwise, no thanks.
  8. I'm reading this and hating myself for feeling like I'm going to miss Brady. It's not that I want to see them go out on top, but he's been such a fixture that the NFL just won't be the same without him. It's certainly not that I feel bad for him personally as he's got the world by the balls. Just a weird feeling I find myself with. I do believe this is the last season the Pats have a chance to win anything and that's a stretch. It's over.
  9. Cam Newton is a patriot in my book for his stance on the anthem by standing when others bemoaned him for it, but that's for a different venue. Like I said, don't know much about North Carolina as my travels have rarely taken me outside of the midwest.
  10. I would think as a novice from the outside looking in folks would love Cam Newton in rural North Carolina for his anti-Kaepernick stance but what the heck do I know about North Carolina. Never been there. Wonder if the Panthers want Derek Anderson back?
  11. I think it's folly to try to emulate a "master plan" ie Seattle's great defense while Wilson was on a rookie deal etc. Most things that retroactively appear to be master plans were at least partially a result of good timing more than a "master plan." The best approach is to consistently acquire good players at reasonable contracts and the rest will work itself out.
  12. My ex wife is with a homely, broke, bum and it's almost worse! At any rate, EJ Manuels and Nate Peterman strike me as fine young men and I wish them the best.
  13. Got it and don't disagree. I think we can agree that he's a very young kid who'll get better at this over time. Certainly nothing I'm worried about.
  14. Do you not want to see the young man try to make a play? I understand that none of want to see him injured, but I didn't see Brett Favre throwing balls away very often and it turned out pretty well for him career AND longeivity wise.Maybe it's just me, but I like a gunslinger mentality.
  15. That makes a world of sense because there's been very little zip on his passes. Came into the league with a very strong arm and I've seen that from him his entire career until recently. Not the most accurate passer, but he's always had the zip.
  16. Wasn't this a topic discussed earlier this week? I'm new to the board, but I don't understand the admiration for Belichick and Brady. They've won 5 world championships and are not upstanding men in my book. There was an old TV show called 8 is enough and 5 is certainly enough in this case.
  17. I don't understand all this kerfuffle about hero ball. I understand Josh ideally stays in the pocket but he has no choice. As to the hero ball, Buffalo has needed a hero for nearly 20 plus years. It's high time the naysayers get on board. I don't listen to popular music but I know there was a recent song about I need a hero. Well Buffalo finally has one and some people seem to prefer mediocre at best. It'll be fine by me if my grandchildren grow up with a football hero and that man is Josh Allen. Plain as day if you watched the Miced up segment from this board.
  18. A lot of fans don't like Cam Newton because he bucked the trend and stood for the national anthem condemning those that don't. I'll leave the politics at that. He seems like a feisty young man but his arm looks really weak this season. Not sure what's going on. They don't have a top tier receiving core, but the OL is rock solid and Christen McCaffrey is a superstar in the making. Really troubling downturn here. Hope the man can pull it together for the good of Carolina fans(Unless they play my Buffalo Bills of course)!
  19. To me, you never neglect an entire unit. The defense has some flows for starters, but they're very good. That being said, neglecting an entire unit is a good way to ensure they're not what you thought they were.
  20. I appreciate this post. Losman struck me as a bit of a hothead and not the most likable fella. Both Manuels and Peterman strike me as good kids. They should both be applauded character wise and dismissed football wise. Heck, Manuels was a much better ball player than Peterman.
  21. It was the correct call mathematically. The only thing concerning is if McDermott doesn't coach that way in games that matter. Our win percentage skyrockets if we convert and only slightly ticks up if we make the FG. The odds of getting 2 yards outweigh the cost. Even if you fail, you're still down one score with the Lions pinned deep. I hope McDermott coach's that way ALL THE TIME.
  22. These young men fight their tails off week in and week out and give it their all. I think we can all agree they need to refrain from the hardened street drugs but this CDC oil doesn't sound like anything deleterious. I think the NFL has the best of intentions but they may be missing the mark on this issue.
  23. I like Leslie Frazier as a human being but I'm not so sure about his defensive approach. Sure we don't give up much yardage but I'd like to see Leslie be more aggressive in his playcalling. The defense is a fine unit and I applaud them but Frazier has the potential to really boost them to the next level.
  24. Why in the world would folks root for Tyrod Tailor's demise? He was an upstanding man as a member of the Buffalo Bills. Sure he had his shortcoming and I'm tickled pink that we have a franchise quarterback but there's no reason to pile on Taylor.
