Bucky Brooks’ Top 5 Draft Prospects by position
BillsSB2020 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ed Oliver as his number 4 DT is somewhat against the grain. He and Metcalf appear to be perhaps the two most polarizing figures in the upcoming draft. -
What do you want to see this offseason: DRAFT
BillsSB2020 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As much as I like Hockenson, it would be somewhat disgruntling to have to draft a TE so high. Most of the top tier guys at the position were nabbed in the 2nd round or later. -
Hearing Broncos will let Matt Paradis test FA
BillsSB2020 replied to Patriot Killa's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think there may be something of a ripple effect if we can land a bigtime player like Paradis early in the process. Crossing my fingers. -

I too believe we will be competing with the Jets for the services of Paradis. There's a good possiblity Long was signed to play guard or could do so if we're able to land Matthew. As much as I love what's going on, I'm gonna be a tad disappointed in OBD if we can't lure him to our fair city. -
Ravens trading Joe Flacco to Broncos
BillsSB2020 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As I've heard on Twitter and it rings true in a comical way, Elway appears to want to ensure that he's the greatest QB in Broncos history! -
What do you expect from Trent Murphy in 2019?

Pass rushers and quarterbacks always shoot up the board! -

I totally agree that it was not a terrific signing. I'm just pontificating on the best course of action now that the deal is already done. -

I like that fella from Old Dominion in perhaps the third round. Not sure that would be the kind of investment that would move Murphy from the roster entirely. I'm not a fan of cutting guys just because you're not terribly happy with the contract. It's already a done deal. -
What do you expect from Trent Murphy in 2019?
BillsSB2020 replied to GreggTX's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think he was maybe slightly above average when healthy and pass rushers are hard to come by. I don't think it was a terrific signing, but if they determine his knee is healthy, I think you could make a case for keeping him around. There's no way to predict injury, but they could at the very least get the docs to take a good look at that knee. -

I always lose track of Shaq's contract. There is no reason he won't be on the roster based upon your statement. I suppose Murphy would be the odd man out if they were to go DE early. That's if they cut one, which will also depend on what they do in free agency. So many moving parts! I like Murphy as a player, but it's really tough to justify paying the guy when he's so frequently injured. -
What do you expect from Trent Murphy in 2019?
BillsSB2020 replied to GreggTX's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes. If they go DE in RD 1, there's a chance BOTH are gone and a cheap replacement is found as depth. I believe they would keep one even if they went DE. I'm starting to believe the pick is going to be DK Metcalf, so that would certainly change the calculus. -
What do you expect from Trent Murphy in 2019?
BillsSB2020 replied to GreggTX's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes. That's why I stated "when healthy." If I had to choose, I would take Lawson. Now depending on the draft, it's entirely possible they keep both. If they take a pass rusher early in the draft, I think one will go and that's where Murphy's health is a major player. I suppose he could bounce back. I've seen a guy coming off injury struggle to stay healthy the following year and then get back to full strength. The fact that he's been oft injured is a major concern though. I do believe he's a solid pass rusher which are hard to come by, which is why I would hesitate to up and cut him. -
Bills sign C Spencer Long to 3 year deal
BillsSB2020 replied to One Buffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It seems as though there's been too much focus on the rough stint with the Jets, which was largely the result of injury, perhaps position. As to the contract, it's really not exorbitant. You can't look at these numbers as if it's 20 years ago. -
What do you expect from Trent Murphy in 2019?
BillsSB2020 replied to GreggTX's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's the concern. I think the staff needs to do it's due diligence on the health of his knee and if it doesn't look good, perhaps cut bait. I've read that it was a team friendly contract. Lawson isn't the pass rusher that Murphy is, but he's available and he also made some strides last season. Maybe they keep both, but I could see them having to decide between these two young men. -

I expect DK Metcalf to be the first receiver off the big board. Some team will fall in love with his combine numbers/physique. His bloodlines certainly don't hurt. Wouldn't be terribly disappointed if the Bills went this route. He's got the most upside much like Allen and Edmunds. -

He was pretty effective when healthy. I'm just concerned about his availability. He's a solid pass rusher when he's able to suit up. -
Report: Jets to pursue Jim Harbaugh for HC
BillsSB2020 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't care for some of Jim Harbaugh's antics, but he's a fine coach, most especially to start his tenure. I would prefer he not be coaching in our division but that's not my call. Harbaugh, despite the khakis and self picture photographs is one heck a coach. It seems as though his message wore thin in San Francisco but that doesn't mean I want to see 3 years of "good" Harbaugh. Hopefully the boys in Anne Arbor make him a couter offer if this comes to some kind of head. -
Father Time is finally catching up with Brady
BillsSB2020 replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just don't see the same pizazz from this Patriots bunch as years past. Our boys didn't play their best ball and yet Brady couldn't hit the broad side of the barn with most of his passes. He's had a distinguished career, but with Brady looking so fragile, it's tough to see them competiting with the hungrier upstarts. I suppose we're gonna find out if Belichick is as good as he's made out to be. If they hoist the Lombardi with this bunch, he deserves even more credit than he already receives. -
A tough week for Buffalo Sports Teams
BillsSB2020 replied to Big Curt's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That fella from Marquette just got red hot. Almost like one of those video games. I'm still pretty excited about the potential of the basketBulls. -
I wish Ruben Foster would a had a pair of those shades when the ball got lost in the sun.? It seems to be that Edmunds is a fresh faced rookie and the expectation is that it will all slow down for him next season. Perhaps they need a run plugger for the middle and a jackrabbit out of the backfield to shore up the middle areas but those guys are usually available on the open market.

Again people..... This is the first year of a REBUILD
BillsSB2020 replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills brass didn't draft Allen number 7 overall to be a pencil pusher. He's shown every bit the promise you'd expect from a young up and comer from a small school. The offense is growing right in front of our eyes with Daboll calling the shots. All youngsters take their lumps in Foxborough. I was a bit bummed out but if you keep it in proper perspective, it all makes sense. I was a bit perturbed by the rushing defense but Belichick must have exploited our injuries but I'd like to see our boys put forth maximum effort and it was lacking. -

BillsSB2020 replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm encouraged by many of the cultural changes happening at One Bills Drive and believe this offseason they will grow leaps and bounds beyond what we've seen in the past. I'm not going to wag my finger at the naysayers but this time is different. Whaleys left us in a terrible cap situation, although he was trying to compete. The Beane Man came in and decided the roster needed an overhaul not a bandaid. As long as we've got our franchise quarterback set in stone, the sky is the limit. -
I thought Josh played a fine game. Some of our ball catchers need to bring their A game to the table if you ask me. Charles Clay was hardly missed and Crooms had the critical fumble. Now I don't lament Crooms for putting forth maximum effort but know when to say when. I'm a little worried about the diminutive nature of our receivers because they seem to get knicked up a bit too frequently. Could just be a bad coincidence. I know Beane will have a fresh fleet for Josh in 2019. Allens is making lemon out of lemonade but I suppose the numbers crowd have some gripes with his performance. The Crooms fumble reminded me quite a bit of a Scott Chandler fumble many moons ago. He was also putting forth maximum effort but he coughed it up in similar fashion. Give the young man an arsenal and the sky is the limit! You said it mister. Manuel was a good off field guy and did a heck of a lot for the community as did Edward but I never believed they could compete with the top enchiladas. Allen at the very least provides legitimate hope.

I like Baltimore's chances. I expect a big night from both Todd Heap and Eric Metcalf. Humpries is having a great year but I expect McCalister and company to keep that Chargers offense at bay.?
