  1. IIRC, the Bears also played at UILL's stadium for a year. I'm of the opinion that the stadium should stay exactly where it is, but vast improvements have to occur to keep up with the times.
  2. I will say I understand where they're coming from to a certain extent. We'd all love the Bills to be a roster full of admirable human beings. The reality is that winning teams generally have a few "characters." I don't want a team full of punks, but if it means the Bills are championship caliber, I'm perfectly fine taking on a less than perfect guy. I don't think AB is coming here, but I'd love to see it happen. Let him and Poyer work it out like men.
  3. You'd rather lose than have AB or Beckham? I don't understand that rationale, but to each their own. I'd love to see the Bills field a Superbowl winning team in my lifetime. Wouldn't diminish it one bit if we had a WR with an extravagant personality.
  4. I always thought Brandon Lloyd could have been a really good receiver if he could have stayed healthy. Who knows? Portis indeed had a nice career even after the Shanahan/Kubiak machine churned out 1000 yard backs like it was nothing. Seems like a bad draft pick though considering it made Mike Anderson look all world.
  5. Every Denver running back after TD!
  6. I get your point that they were competitive in the playoff game, but you could make the "worst" playoff team argument based on point differential.
  7. Yeah. Tate would be the more substantial signing, but even a Humphries would leave him in serious jeapordy. I don't see him as anything more than a slot receiver. Alot will depend on the players we're able to acquire, but Zay is not a lock to make the team IMO. I think he does still have some trade value. Sounds odd to get rid of assets at receiver when it was such a disaster last year, but I could see another team thinking they could fix his issues. Much will depend on Beane and McDermott's evaluation.(Obviously)
  8. If the Bills were to sign a guy like Golden Tate, Zay should probably start thinking about his future elsewhere. As much as I feel for those that suffer with confidence/anxiety issues, they really are the most difficult to overcome. Look at the guy the Sixers drafted 1 overall.
  9. Ouch. Nice catch! I actually prefer Mitch to Paradis because of his physicality. Just scrolled right on past his name I suppose.
  10. I don't think Tevin Coleman is explosive enough for his niche. Just my opinion based on watching him play. A small back needs to be more explosive. I hope the Bills steer clear.
  11. It may have lasted more than one season, but Dante Hall was the talk of the league for a short while. Human joystick stopped working pretty quickly.
  12. Mitch Morse is not even on this list and the fella from TB is listed as the top FA OLman. I believe Brown from NE should be a bigtime target for the Bills. Just wondering if we're getting caught up with certain players and ignoring others. Perhaps those in the know here understand Donavon Smith's contract situation better than I do or perhaps this list is junk. Interesting read nonetheless. Also noteworthy the number of DE's high on this list. If we could land any one of those pass rushers, we could turn our attention ENTIRELY to offense IMO. If we were to add a premier pass rusher, I think Phillips is adequate at 3T DT.
  13. I don't think a single tweet rules out the POSSIBILITY that the Cardinals deal Rosen and draft Murray. Not saying it's likely, but of course you're going to "support" a guy you plan on trading. Not saying that's what they're doing. Just saying IF they plan on trading him, it makes no sense to publicize any doubts.
  14. We SEEM to have trouble landing FA skill players, so this proposition makes perfect sense.
  15. Without the best players, there is no league. Where do you think that money should go? All of it to the owners? It's simple supply and demand. If people stopped attending games or watching them, then their value would diminish. Capitalism plain and simple. They are paid in accordance with their market value.
  16. I understand you perfectly well. What you're saying is that you don't want athletes to get paid commensurate with the revenue they generate. Not quite sure if you're serious or not, but this is silly.
  17. A) The AAF has no chance of overtaking the NFL. B) In the event that the impossible occurred, players in said league would be paid in accordance with the revenue generated. C) NFL players are multi millionaires because people want to watch premier athletes play football and they'll pay for it in a multitude of ways. It's called capitalism.
  18. I understand the drama surrounding that particular situation. Just noting that we shouldn't be opposed to acquiring a player who has a less than perfect past. The objective is to win football games. As much as I'd love to field a team of boy scouts, that's not the way the NFL works. If the Bills could acquire OBJ, I'd be ecstatic. Gotta surround him with premier talent. I think he's a tough enough kid to handle it.
  19. I'm a bit skeptical as to whether or not he wrote this message or if the fan wrote it and is trying to get attention. The "story" is that the fan asked him to write it. Either way, it's not a huge deal but I'd rather he avoid these kind of things. I love Allen, but I think he's gotta earn it before he starts getting ahead of himself. Seems like a very solid kid so I'm not really concerned.
  20. Isn't it interesting that we don't want to play against the likes of Brown or OBJ? Let's face it. Players like these make their teams better and the Pats run a tight ship so they get with the program. I believe McDermott is a strong leader and I believe he could handle these type of players. As much as I trust the process, I think we may need to acquire some top tier talent to compete with the big dogs. Let's say the Bills added Brown or OBJ. People would believe the Bills got better and I think they may just be right.
  21. I would throw Kansas City in with Indy and Cincy, but I don't think I'd include Jacksonville. Sorry to say, but constant sunshine adds value to a city that would otherwise be in the same category. Buffalo is definitely not behind KC, Indy, Cincy, Detroit or GB.
  22. Totally agree, especially with the last sentence. Those that don't view the DL as an impending issue or one to "put off" are being shortsighted. Let's just say the offense doesn't get going like they hope. Having a more dynamic imposing front 7 that leads to more big defensive plays is the best way to mitigate that. I think McBeane wants to win THIS season and this is a surefire way to ensure they're ultra competitive in all the games played. As good as the defense was last season, there was something missing in terms of big plays. One extra edge player could turn that around. Like you said, our pass rushers aren't getting any younger. Everyone knows that most of the resources will be spent offensively, but they cannot neglect the DL. Once you think you're all set on one side of the field, suddenly flaws start rearing their ugly head. Gotta stay on top of everything.
  23. I hear ya my man but my expectations are a bit higher. We've got our coach going into his third year who's already made the playoffs. We've got our QB going into his second year which has been money for QB's as of late. We've got the cap space to sign vets and the draft picks to bring talent aboard. We won 6 games last season. There's really no reason this team shouldn't be at minimum a serious contender for the playoffs.
  24. I don't think this is the right forum to be complaining about Atlanta weather!?
