  1. Meh. An old widow paying for some "affection." Not sure why it's such a big deal.
  2. Uhhh. He's not keeping his job. He'll never work in Hollywood again. Intellectual honesty is a dying virtue, but it's still refreshing to see.
  3. I'm in no way defending this clown and don't dispute anything you typed. Simply pointing out that I've been watching CNN(fake news, I get it) and have seen nothing but scorn for this man.
  4. The MSM is slamming this clown like nobody's business as well they should. There is virtually no-one "playing along" with his version of events. You may have seen something I missed though.
  5. That much is true, however Williams was actually graded higher by PFF because he's an elite blocker. You can never have enough weapons, but I'm pretty high on Croom and believe he could be just as good an option(if not better) than James as a receiver. My overall opinion is that I don't want to pay James TE1 money. The position needs to seriously be addressed and I don't believe he's the ultimate answer. That should come in the draft IMO. I wouldn't HATE signing James. Just leery. So if you draft the right TE and sign Williams, the room is the stud rookie, an elite blocker, and an athletic hybrid in Croom. And you paid substantially less than if you signed James.
  6. I liked Chandler, but I don't miss the way he'd stay upright, sometimes fighting for extra yards, sometimes the defense holding him up and punching at the ball. Seemed like a fumble waiting to happen. He was a nice player and a high quality individual, but this always bothered me. As to James, I think what most fans feel is that we'd be OK with the signing but don't view him as a talent worthy of an overpay.
  7. I see quite a few very good DT's on that list and a large number of good/not elite edge rushers. I'm not disputing the overall premise that the Bills as a whole need to be more offensive minded. I'm singing out edge pass rusher, the most important defensive position, as an area where they have not been great. As far as allocation of resources, they drafted Erik Flowers and Aaron Maybin in the first round in the HOPE that they'd be elite pass rushers. They failed. That doesn't change the fact that the defense has rarely been GREAT over the years and I attribute that to a lack of a truly elite pass rusher. It's especially important when you're facing the top flight QB's. Best way to beat em is to be in their face all day. Let's say they had drafted 6 first round QB's over that time frame, yet they all failed. That wouldn't change the importance of the position. It would just mean that they had horridly allocated the resources.
  8. To be fair, he only had 202 yards rushing his last season at Wyoming. Now I know college rushing stats include sacks, but I don't see how anyone could have predicted his elite mobility at the NFL level.
  9. Trump is a pioneer in this department and I mean that as a compliment. That's how you play the game circa 2019. I still believe Al Franken made a huge mistake, but there was so much heat coming from the #MeToo crowd that it may have been unsustainable at the time.
  10. FWIW, James PFF grade was above average. Considering he wasn't prolific as a receiver, I'm assuming he graded out pretty well in the blocking department. That makes this idea quite a bit more intriguing as I think a player like him needs to block well and makes him a good fit for the Bills. I like Croom as the hybrid receiving TE and I would like to see him continue to develop and I also expect a top tier TE in the draft. Still don't want to give him a large contract because I think he's limited.
  11. To be entirely fair, the right played the same game with Clinton and while it probably backfired in 98, it didn't seem to affect the 2000 Presidential race. I lean left and have been trying to tell anyone who would listen to stop the Russia hysteria. There was every chance in the world little or nothing was there and they'd look like fools. But in this day and age, most of it will be forgotten by Nov 2020 even if the left has egg on their face. Remember the Ralph Northam scandal? Seems like 100 years ago. So while I concur with the board that the MSM and many lefty pols will look foolish, it probably won't last.
  12. Who were the superstars before Mario and Dareus came along? Kyle was a stalwart, but the Bills haven't had a top flight pass rusher since Bruce Smith(Outside of Mario's brief success). Schobel is the best one we had and he wasn't exactly elite.
  13. I would be furious if the Bills invested a first round pick in a corner. We already have one stud and Beane has proven he can find gems for scraps. Taron Johnson is a fantastic nickel corner. The Bills need to address the defensive line this offseason, but I'm not concerned with any other position on that side of the ball. As far as Milano goes, I feel like we're watching two different players. The guy is all over the field. He's not perfect as he isn't great at holding up at the point of attack, but he flies around, makes plays behind the LOS, and is terrific in pass pro. The perfect OLB in today's NFL.
  14. So now we've equated murder and white supremacy with infidelity/multiple children? I think it's clear that Karlos has made some questionable life decisions, but these are strawmen arguments. This is a football team, not a church choir. I would have no problem kicking the tires on Karlos assuming he's gotten himself into shape. He runs downhill and he runs with a purpose. Again, this is assuming the conditioning issues have been addressed.
  15. Can he block? Because if you think Croom is gonna be on the squad in 2019, we're gonna need a TE that can block. My assumption is that we'll invest a day one or two pick and his primary duty will be as a receiver.
  16. I wouldn't be opposed to signing James because he'd improve the team. I would be opposed to a large investment. The Steelers went out and got McDonald for a reason. He'd be better than anyone we have, but it wouldn't be the kind of upgrade I'm looking for at tight end. I'd prefer to sign a guy like Maxx Williams and make a major investment at the position in the draft assuming James wants, say, 4 years/6 mil.
  17. Exactly. There's a good chance they'll find better LB depth, but it's a why not tender.
  18. Agreed that there are better far better G prospects in the draft likely to wind up in Buffalo. That's why I want them to go all in on Trenton Brown and of course one of the centers.
  19. Carl Pickens had 4 1000 yard seasons and 63 career TD's. Very underrated receiver.
  20. I don't hate Flutie, but I do have some animus towards the bandwagon fans that came aboard and didn't care about the Bills. There were LOTS of them. They would ho hum the defense(#1) and nothing was ever Doug's fault. I just found it irritating. He was a fun QB who excited the fanbase(the real fans) and he was effective but somewhat overrated. You'd watch highlights of a 13-10 Bills win in which the defense dominated and the one awesome jump pass he threw would be the only thing mentioned. No credit to Moulds or the defense ever. I think Flutie would have been more successful in this era where the field is so spread out and QB's are not trained to just take 3/5 step drops and deliver. That's why I believe Murray has a chance to be a special player.
  21. I think most posters get the gist. You want the owners to retain more of the profit and the athletes to retain less. I fundamentally disagree with this, but you're entitled to your opinion.
  22. We don't need no stinkin stars! I'm also not enamored with the idea of signing Bell, but I think we have to bite the bullet and acquire some top tier talent with a less than perfect background if we're gonna compete with the big boys.
  23. No chance! I don't have a horse in the race, but I don't see it happening at Cameron. Good luck though. I'm a Michigan fan so an NC win would be a GOOD thing when it comes to RPI.
