This Off-season should be all about Allen
BillsSB2020 replied to BillsFan1988's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was under the impression we were going to focus on the secondary in the offseason. -
I don't believe it was so much a matter of knowing the playbook as it was scanning the entire field; ie recognition. He just didn't process what he was seeing quickly enough. Not a stupid guy(28 wonderlic), but he just didn't have that ability.

I tried google to no avail, but with all the talk of only spending 50 percent of the 80 plus million in cap space, I'd like to know if that would place the Bills in a situation where the money was forfeited? Seems like we've become obsessed with cap space. I expect the Bills to be pretty active in free agency. I think the regime may feel a bit of pressure to win in 2019. Not so much that they'll spend like drunken sailors, but billionaires tend to grow impatient. This is a pretty big season for McDermott and Beane and I expect Beane to come out firing. -
Report: Bills interested in UFA TE Jesse James

Right. I would assume teams would prefer to retain free agents that are worth a damn. Doesn't mean you can't outbid them/lure them to the B-Lo. Doubt Denver wants to get rid of Paradis. Doubt KC wants to get rid of Morse. Doubt Carolina/LAC want to get rid of Williams. Money talks. -
What's your 2019 projected offensive line

Ryan Jensen signed a 4 year 42 mil deal last season making him the leagues highest paid center. Wouldn't be surprised if it took something in that range to get Morse. Ideally you limit the guaranteed dollars as much as possible considering the concussions. -

LT: Trenton Brown LG:Dion Dawkins C:Mitch Morse RG:Wyatt Teller RT:Taylor/Risner/other draft pick Spencer Long as primary backup at all 3 interior line positions. -
Indeed. As I said, I like Manuel the human being, but he had a tendency to lead his receivers into collisions. A STRONG tendency. That will cause a WR mutiny every day of the week.

Agree with much of your post, but take exception with this particular analysis. Belichick's defensive philosophy is strenthfinder friendly in the sense that he's going to take away your STRENGTH and force you to beat them with your weakness. That does mean you need multiple ways to beat a BB defense, but I don't think it defies the notion of playing to your strength. And as you point out, he will run the ball or throw underneath to Edelman until you stop it. That is playing to the strength in that specific matchup. A bit different than the macro view of playing to one's strengths, but not exactly diametrically opposed to it. How many teams do we see run the ball/throw deep/throw underneath successfully only to "mix it up" for the sake of mixing it up? Belichick just keeps doing whatever happens to be working. Going to the well until your opponent stops it is also strengthfinder friendly. -

And all Tedford QB's suck! Not discounting your point, but you have to look at each player individually. I think Brown is a perfect fit because of his size and physicality. The fact that Solder didn't pan out doesn't mean Brown won't. -
I had to google it because I thought it was Chase Daniel, but it was Chad Henne. Henne is getting up there in age, so he's got a shot to beat him out I would think.

Agree. Just can't see them spending that kind of coin on Bell. Shady is the only elite back Reid has ever had. I think he knows they can win without an elite back and won't allocate those kind of resources on a RB. I guess it's POSSIBLE considering they don't have to pay Mahomes until 2022. My guess would be that they'd want to have some cap flexibility for the defense.

EJ was an outstanding young man during his time in Buffalo. While he's got back-up AT BEST ability, I wish him well. Not sure if he'll even make the team let alone become the primary backup, but it's a good thing that he's getting a shot.

Right. Human trafficking is disgraceful and should be punished to the fullest extent of the law, but it's naive to think there are not a lot of women willingly making these transactions. It's the oldest profession in the world. Ironically, Robert Kraft looks like the oldest man in the world so he may have been there at it's inception.
