  1. The Home Field advantage stuff was great. The other thing that stuck out to me, was when he started talking about Favre. If you block out the name, you would swear he was talking about Allen.
  2. Diggs needs to extend arms and catch the ball. Looked like he was trying to body catch it.
  3. Very true. Let's hope that holds up for 1 more week.
  4. It didn't make sense how bad he looked, in comparison to what we saw last year. Even if he wasn't progressing as much as we would like for a player going into his second year, it seemed at the time like a huge step back. I understand that we're not a good scheme fit, and how he might still be struggling with some of the zone concepts, but he was equally struggling with man coverage. Multiple times we saw him run step for step with Tyreek last year, and I think this is partly what added to our expectations for this year. All that being said, this doesn't erase Brandon Beane's comments over the off-season about his struggles. I don't remember the exact words, but when asked about Elam's struggles, or why he didn't have the job locked down, Brandon said....I wish I could say that he's not working hard or doesn't want it. Let's hope Josh Norman has been spending a lot of 1on1 time with him, and that the light is starting to come on. If the case, and healthy, we could potentially see a diff player on the field. Let's see if he gets activated within the next couple of weeks. That'll tell us all we need to know. I will also add, that the timeline makes sense. During training camp, he was starting to separate a bit, and it was a 2 man race for CB2. I forget if it was between him and Dane, or him and Benford. But one of them started to emerge and he faded into the abyss.
  5. I agree with most about the Special teams stuff, but we don't know how he's looked in practice, or how far he's progressed. Them opening up his window is definitely for a reason. None of us expected Ty Johnson to be getting the kind of work he's getting, but he's earned Brady's trust. Maybe it's similar with shorter. We know he's big, and a long strider, and the book on him at FLorida, is that he was very good at contested catches, so we'll see. Maybe not this week, but if we find ourselves blowing out the Pats or Chargers, he may get an inseason tryout.
  6. Don't get me wrong, I like our chances at home, but we can't discredit these guys. Dan Quinn was the HC, not the defensive coordinator. Even if he's in charge of the defense, he has a lot more responsibility than just that. The Cowboy's Defense was abysmal when he first took it over, and he completely turned that unit around in 1-2 years. Don't believe me, go check out the 2020 Cowboys Defense for comparison. As far as Spagnola goes, he always been known as one of the more creative defensive coaches. He hasn't forgotten how to coach, and it's not like we're talking about 70+ year old guy, who the game passed him by. As I said, I still like our chances, and think we're on the same side here, but this will be as tough a challenge as any. I think the Cowboys weakness is their LB's. Hopefully we can attack the middle of the field with our backs and TE's, and also use Josh's legs in this one.
  7. They had an embarrassment of riches. That being said, bad coaching can certainly restrict a team from reaching it's potential, no matter how talented they are. We can say that at worst, they at least got the job done, by helping the team reach it's potential. Also, the early signs with Brady are very encouraging. After a tough grueling game against a tough KC D, I'm interested in seeing how Brady bounces back against a Dallas team that is humming on both sides of the football. We seemed to be struggle against man coverage in the KC game, and I expect we'll see a bit more of that as we move forward. 2nd week in a row, where this offense faces a defensive coordinator who shut down the most potent offense in the history of the NFL to win the SB. Spagnola last week, who shut down the points shattering (18-0 Pats) and now Dan Quinn, who shut down the most loaded offense I could remember, the 2013 Broncos. Held the Broncos to 8pts to win the SB. I believe Manning threw 55 TD's that year, and over 5500 yds. Demarius Thomas, Eric Decker, Wes Welker, Julian Thomas, & Knowshon Moreno as the RB. Baptism by fire. Let's see what Brady could come up with this week. If we beat Dallas, we win the division. GO BILLS!
  8. Yes.....the curse was lifted, effective yesterday.
  9. Correct, but very unlikely. More than a few games, where the teams ahead of us play each other. There's also always upsets. This week alone,.Steelers lost to NE, and Hou lossed to the Jets.
  10. That's a good point, and you're right, I didn't factor that at all. Maybe a dominant win or two against a good team, and we can get our mojo back. I'm a big believer in the part that psychology plays into sports. If we do get in, and I believe we will. We'll be as dangerous as ever.
  11. I'm with you all the way, on how you feel post Dorsey, at least with the offense. Unfortunately overall a bit different. My confidence in this team winning a close game, is at an all-time low. For some reason, we either make the wrong decision, or have a miscue at a critical time. Josh had an incredible game, but couldn't close the deal. Now 0-6 in overtime. McDermott's job was a lot easier. Just give Josh a chance. The way he was playing, to take the ball out of his hands was inexcusable. Easy decision, keep your timeout, and let your QB do amazing things. He was built for that exact type of moment. 20 seconds and two timeouts is a lot of time for Josh. McDermott has used aggression on D at the wrong time often times. I'm ok with getting that wrong at times, but keep that same aggression on both sides. Last thing I'll address is the defense and their inability to make a stop. As much as I'm critical of McDermott, I feel it's been the construction of the defensive roster, that has cost us the most. The missed Elam pick, and the lack young talent in the secondary is hurting us. Hyde and Poyer really look old, slow and unathletic. When we were thriving on defense, it had a lot to do with Tre, Micah, and Poyer. Now it's an old and oft injured secondary. Sorry to be a downer on your optimism. I'm typically more optimistic than this, but those are the things I'm having a tough time shaking.
  12. I agree that Brady did make it work with average play makers earlier on, but the one constant was great Defense, and great oline play, that allowed them to always have a strong running game, no matter who was the RB. Let's also not forget that he had a HOF TE, best all-time in my opinion. I know Kelce is a better pure receiver, but Gronk was equally dominant in the run game as a blocker, or would block a DE at times in pass pro.
  13. Not to make excuses, but up until this year, Josh has been our running game. I think the best measure is passing TDs vs. Interceptions, if we're trying to compare him to other passers. That being said, I'm ok with the risk vs. reward here. On 3rd and 21, Josh will rather throw a ball 40 yds down field even if it's picked. I love Josh's attitude to play to win, and not to protect his stats. In comparison, when I watch Rodgers, I think he's become a total image guy, and fails to take risks. This has lead to a lot of early playoff exits in GB. I've seen a fair amount of this. Except for this year under Dorsey, I never watched Allen with the fear of him turning the ball over, because I know that at the most critical times, he's great at protecting the ball. However, this never really gets discussed. Let's see the breakdown by quarter, and I'm willing to bet those numbers are substantially lower in the 4th Quarter.
  14. He has a knack for missing in must have it games. He seems perfect in blowouts against inferior opponents. I do get Norwood vibes from Bass. I have very little trust in him.
  15. In my opinion, this is where the lines get a bit blurry. It seems like all the players and coaches genuinely liked Dorsey, and we're vested in his success. I think that because of this, he got a bit more time to try and overcome his shortcomings. Unfortunately it never happened, and it might've cost us the season. If you fire the guy too soon, than you also risk losing the locker room. Delicate balance. I feel like we did it a week or 2 too late.
  16. Same rules for QB and WR. Safety location dictates. Sucks because Gabe was having one of his best games of the year, up until that point.
  17. Yup. I will also add, that the safety bailed, and the middle of the field was completely open. Should've been an easy read and easy TD. I hate to say it, but it was beyond dumb by Gabe.
  18. Things that I have little faith in. 1. McD Defense making a stop at the end of a game. 2. Being aggressive at the end of a game. 3. Gabe Davis making the correct read on an option route. 4. Hochuli
  19. I'm glad we're the forgotten team, and everyone forgot we got the baddest man in the league. It's even sweeter that we're at Philly beating both the Eagles and the Zebras.
  20. I agree. The offense that showed up last week, can beat just about anyone. I'm also not as down on Josh, as many here are. I always put most of the blame on Dorsey.
  21. 1 game is a small sample size, but against the Jets last week, it sure looked and felt like the old offense under Brady. And that's against a better Jets D. When we play like that, even the 85 Bears would struggle with Josh.
  22. Warner has always been very critical of Allen and his style of play. All the video shows to me, is look...these are still the same routes. However, Warner fails to address the little tweaks that Brady made, to create better passing windows. Everyone also appeared to be in better sync. Spacing and timing go hand and hand. With Dorsey that seemed to be a little off. Over simplification by Warner if you ask me.
  23. I agree, but will also added that doing less RPO in favor of marrying the QB run to the pass, was a really nice and effective element. But like you said, it's def more about when we called what, and the purpose behind it. Brady showed that he was always thinking ahead. I think that's why our offense seemed smooth and natural.
  24. Spot on! Great analogy. If we're able to take out the Eagles this week, watch out!
