That's exactly why I like Brian Thomas from LSU.

Greg Cosell - “I don’t think they have a number 1 WR”

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Diggs have a similar 2nd half slide last year as well? -

No....but they bully everyone in the trenches. Still don't expect them to beat KC. -
It was all around bad. The worst it's been, considering all that we invest in special teams.

Josh made the right call to go for the TD
Allen2Moulds replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't disagree with you, and also preferred that we picked up at least another 1st down. But I think we're talking about optimum outcome, which is different to me. Let's bleed the clock all the way down, and now let's score. Chiefs have been a top defense all year, and after they made some halftime adjustments, yards and points were at a lot higher premium. I don't compare it to the Eagles game for 2 reasons. He took that shot on 3rd down vs. the Eagles. Always been a pet peeve of mine, to throw the ball 40 yds, when you only need.a few to keep the drive going. The 2nd thing is, Gabe and Josh hadn't been on the same page all year. I had a lot more trust in Shakir to be were Josh expected him to be in that moment. All that being said.....I get your point, and can't push back to hard on it. -
Josh made the right call to go for the TD

I think most of us are basing it off of how he was playing. Playoff Josh is more accurate. Look at the prior deep throws that same game, 2 of them were spot on, and the the 3rd was catchable. The DB wasn't draped to Shakir, it would've been uncontested. No argument that the end result wasn't good, but the decision was right. Especially because it was second down, and we still had a shot at getting the 1st down. I know I could get flamed for this, but based on what we had been seeing from Bass, and how poorly our defense played that night, I would've preferred going for it on 4th down. As soon as I saw the kicking team, I knew it was over, whether he made it or not. -

TDs are too hard in the NFL, to pass up an opportunity if given. let's say he throws to Diggs and we end up tying with a FG. Do we not bring up, that he should've went for the TD, and point out an open Shakir. It takes all 11 guys to do their job, overall the oline played exceptionally well, but lost that one key rep. -
I couldn't agree more. Not only a good year for WR talent, but this is a BIG class, opposite of last year. I just started YouTube scouting and haven't made up my mind, but it already seems like the general consensus is 1. Harrison 2. Neighbors 3. Odunze. These 3 are likely to be long gone, and not even trade up targets. The next 2 that I like that could be mid to late 1st, are Legget from SC, looks like an AJ Brown type to me, and Brian Thomas from LSU. LSU guys seem to always transfer well to the NFL. What are your thoughts on WR?

Is it the drafting or the player development?
Allen2Moulds replied to Low Positive's topic in The Stadium Wall
You guys can love or hate McDermott all you want, but for me it's about the draft. Beane has done a good job drafting. The problem is, the teams we're competing with at the top have done even better. If we're grading Beane, he's likely top 10. However, we are missing 1-2 more impact players to get us over the hump. I could be wrong but this is my theory. Guys under McDermott generally give it their all during the regular season, but the stakes are elevated during the postseason, and guys around the league kick it into another gear. We hit our top gear during the season, except for maybe Josh. I think that's the reason for it looking like our Dline no shows every year against KC/Cincy. Besides coaching, the current difference between the Bills and Chiefs, is that the Chiefs have a true game wrecker in Chris Jones. The guy makes a play in critical moments of every big game their in. We don't have that anywhere. -
The WR#2 Market (Spotrac Breakdown and Comparison)
Allen2Moulds replied to WhitewalkerInPhilly's topic in The Stadium Wall
Wish it was that simple, but WRs need to read coverage as well, in order to be on the same page with the QB. We've all seen what that looks like, when that doesn't happen. That being said, I agree with swinging for the fences and going after a physical freak in the draft. Now who that Is, I don't know, but do hope Beane and Company are spending a lot of time evaluating that position. -
Beane & McDermott end of season press conferences
Allen2Moulds replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
Of course if the board falls right, I would love to go WR, and than safety with back to back picks. I believe safety is far and away our biggest need, and typically you can still find some high end prospects on day 2. -

Allen2Moulds replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
I share that same sentiment about the ints, but also believe that Josh turns into a diff QB in the playoffs. His level of focus increases, and the turnovers disappear with or without Gabe. Gabe does need to be replaced, but do believe he could of provided a chunk play or 2 on Sunday. The bigger issue for me is the Dline. We've poured a lot of capital into our Dline, and it's the 4th year in a row, that they've been a no show against KC/Cincy. They were getting pushed and thrown around just about on every play. I don't know how much of that falls onto scheme/ McDermott, or the players. -

I have to disagree just a little bit here. I view Kincaid as a Dawson Knox upgrade, and Shakir is the slot receiver we had been looking for. Outside of Gabe, we don't have that down field threat, that makes defenses pay, when they go cover 0 on us. I never thought I'd say this, but not having Gabe on Sunday really mattered. Sheffield tried to fill that role, but failed miserably. Not big or fast enough. -

I'd like to see them double down, and do both. An upgrade to Gabe's role, and a succession plan for Diggs. I guess the question for me is, any prospects in this draft class that offer both, and are not top 5 picks? -

We need a Tee Higgins type of clone. -
Sure.... everything points to Diggs best football being behind him at this point, and there's an obvious need to add to the position. But Bass needs to go. He just doesn't have it. There are so many good kickers in the NFL currently that don't even blink in that moment, and I had zero doubt that he would miss. Last week it looks like he had the yipps, and didn't expect it to miraculously go away.

Spags didn't think Josh could stay patient
Allen2Moulds replied to beebe's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was at the game and couldn't believe he missed the pass to Shakira, but then I rewatched it and see that he was able to step into it. Dawkins was pushed into him as he threw it. It was the right decision, Dawkins just needed to hold up for .01 seconds longer. But the real problem of the game was that our Dline was once again a no show against KC. And of course we need a new kicker. I think we all saw that coming. -
Agreed. Chiefs/Bills winner, wins the SB.

I don't see it that way. McDermott has been one of the best at containing Lamar. Lamar is far from Mahomes -
Ravens don't scare me. Not impressed

Allen2Moulds replied to chongli's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree with this, and will add that we are weaker at CB, but they are weaker at WR. We have a better oline, and they have a better Dline, but only slightly. In order to win this game, we have to do a better job with protection, than in the first matchup. -
I agree, it's hard to tell, but I think there's a small subtle hitch in his walk. Still a great sign if we advance.
