I don't think the drought teams were more fun, but watching this team run with a dropped cylinder week after week is really tough to watch. I would just love to know what Pegula thinks of all this.
-
McDermott would throw his mom under the bus if it would mean Clappy keeping his job. Coaching change or no coaching change, this team is going to need a fairly substantial retool this off-season. If we wait another year or 2 and THEN fire McDermott, it will likely be too late relative to Josh's career.

Fire McDermott - 12 On the Field INEXCUSABLE
Nextmanup replied to WEATHER DOT COM's topic in The Stadium Wall
This was a must win game when you consider our position in the standings and the tough games coming. And as Troy Aikman said, we "didn't show up." It's inexcusable. I would love to know Pegula's barometer reading with McDermott right now. It will take a few years to retool this team and get a new coach's system in place. The time for regime change is now. -
Not to mention, the "Patriot Way" seems to not work so much anymore! Maybe this guy was trying to be part of the solution up there.

Why does this have to a mutually exclusive type situation? Can't Josh have a bad night while we still had a typically mediocre coaching performance?
-
I still can't get over how amateurish and 30 years behind the times the NFL is in terms of fitness/nutrition for its players. It's a total bush league operation for most the league. The Bills should have a team of nutritionists/fitness guys working 1-on-1 with EVERY player on the roster, with custom developed work out concepts and importantly---DIETS. I can't believe they just ignore what these guys eat, how they eat it, and when they eat it. Hell, the NHL was ahead of that stuff 50 years ago with team pasta meals in the afternoon on game days. Turns into an energy dump during the game hours later.

I mentioned an incident in the game here last night, with mixed comments. Someone mentioned that Diggs and Josh had a coming together on the sideline prior to OT. I went back and watched the TV broadcast again and I saw what that guy was referring to. Diggs was very clearly "instructing" Josh to stay calm, and be smart. He literally pointed to his head (Diggs) and you could read his lips: "BE SMART." He knows Josh's weakness better than anyone on this team apparently, and he was doing his best to keep Josh under control at the most critical moment of the game, heading into OT. That should NOT be Diggs' job; as it is, I think he HAS to do it. This aspect of the team is a bit of a tire fire; it's totally on McDermott to sort this out and at least be aware of this situation. Perhaps McDermott is too afraid to confront Josh directly and function as his boss. McClappy did not have any problem whatsoever throwing Josh under the bus last night in his post-game PC, when he very passive aggressively pointed straight to the 4 turnovers as why it was "tough to win in this league"....did it 3 times. I don't like that guy... 😂

Where is the data to suggest that things will change?

"keep composure" ??? What does that mean? People writing insightful posts pointing out flaws with our team's construct are not "losing composure" and even if they were, who the hell cares? This is a message board for Christ's sake, filled mostly with low IQ posters. If you can't B word and be stupid here, where can you!? 😂 -

A number of folks have made comments, similar to one upthread in this thread, talking about a lack of a disciplinary voice within the Bills coaching staff for Josh. Someone to keep him sharp. Someone here last night said his problem is he views Dorsey as a peer and not a boss type figure. I think there is really something to this; a change needs to be made. This is 100% on McDermott to make it happen, and fast. Will he? I don't think he is smart enough to be that insightful, assess the problem, and find a good fix for it. Expect more of the same inconsistent play from Josh, and plenty of wild-eyed hero ball. It won't be every game! It will come and go. -

This is possibly the most Kool-Aid drinking comment I've ever seen here. I'm guessing nothing about this team--ever--upsets you. -
The thing is, we have been saying this for several years now. Josh is never going to break himself of this; if he was, he would have done it by now. Of the elite QBs in the league right now, he is by far the most inconsistent. You don't know what you're going to get game to game.
-
If that's true, then why the hell can't we get one of them in here, while Josh is still young-ish. What is supposed to be special about Dorsey?
-
He's definitely regressed; I do think Dorsey and Daboll are related. Josh misses Daboll who was a much better OC than Dorsey, and seems to have had some sort of special relationship with Josh keeping him on the rails. That seems missing now.

Ah yes, Kelvin Benjamin. I forgot about him. I recall the enthusiasm this board showed for him the day it was announced we acquired him. I was urging caution saying he's not particularly good...and taking flak for it....as usual....

Beane’s failures on full display

Wait. Whaaat? -
Josh Allen since the KC win last season….22 TD’s and 16 INT’s.

The thing is, he is as good as any of them, some of the time. He really struggles playing up to a very high level consistently. That's the problem. -

That was a really strange play. There was no way it was going to achieve a first down and there was no reason to do the jump, period. He should have just gone down; fold up, like Diggs loves to do; avoids injury. And after he has publicly said he will protect his body and play smarter, etc... 🤷♂️ -

Interesting perspective if it's true, regarding Josh seeing him as a peer. I think the bigger problem (though what you argue may well be true) is that Dorsey is just not very good. -
The broken offense devoid of identity is a much bigger problem, but yeah, we can't stop the run, and that is a problem too. If only we had spend more money and assets on the DL. 🤣
-
You think he was "bored?" I'm not sure that's the thing.
-
I don't know how you watch this game and then find strength to pound Bernard of all people... He's not in the top 5 reasons why we lost.

I have now said this in 3 different places tonight (I think) but I genuinely am wondering if they would make an OC change mid-season....it's going to be desperately needed. No need to piss away this entire year b/c McDermott doesn't have the balls to admit he made a poor choice with Dorsey.

Start the Diggs hates Buffalo stories again.

How would I know? I'm repeating what I heard. How about coming up with some evidence to support your position?
