The only good part about the scenario of McDermott drafting mahomes and it not working out is that McDermott is no longer here.

They completely blew it this game. Their 3rd down offense was awful. they kept getting behind the sticks with odd play selection at the juncture where they should’ve been taking complete control of the game (start of second half). They tried to make Brock Purdy the hero of the game and he wasn’t. It reminded me of Seattle vs the patriots where they kept trying to make Russel Wilson the hero. San Francisco could’ve called running plays 20 more times than they did.

The chiefs scored 17 points and beat the 1 seed, on the road. they held the 2 seed to 7 points in the second half, zero in the fourth quarter, on the road.

I’m not happy but at least I didn’t watch the last hour and a half.

The ravens scored 10 points….

And didn’t get a good version of any of those teams. I’d say the bills and niners had solid B games (as whole team grades). I guess that’s what happens when you have the best coaching.

I’m leaning this way, more like hoping. I think the niners have to be in control from jump if they want to win. If it’s close the chiefs will win.

Im hoping bean and co trade down and pick up some future early round picks. we need a LOT of new blood on defense. I’m hoping the staff doesn’t look at 2024 as “all or nothing”.

The two things aren’t mutually exclusive. The receivers sucked and josh could work on his touch.

Not to be a douche, but josh doesn’t really throw a receiver friendly ball. He only has a low trajectory fastball. The receivers ARE supposed to catch everything (being pros) but josh doesn’t do himself any favors.

The afc rep in the superbowl has zero wide receivers.

I don’t know how anyone who watches football can look at this year’s chief team and not come to the conclusion that it’s mostly about coaching in the playoffs. The chiefs are a good team, not exactly world beaters, roster wise yet they’re going to their 4th superbowl in 5 years after going to their 6th straight afc championship. robotic offense that doesn’t make mistakes and solid defense that puts all the pressure on the opponent to perform. josh is talented enough and has played well enough in the playoffs to have at least one if not multiple superbowl rings but has yet to have the benefit of a consistent top flight playoff defense.

I think McDermott should go but not because I think he’s an awful coach. He had his shot and it didn’t happen; for many reasons. we’re in purgatory and a fresh perspective is needed.
