Tyler Bass named AFC ST Player of the Month
patzen replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
My favorite thing about the Colts game is that in the previous offseason both the Bills and Colts were looking for a new kicker. The bills took Tyler Bass in the sixth round while the Colts went the UDFA route with Rodrigo Blankenship. In the playoff game Blankenship missed a 34 yarder and Bass hit a 54 yarder and the Bills won by 3. We won because Beane made the right move and Bass executed in the clutch. -
First of all on the touchdown, everyone knew we were running a play and not kneeling so if they can't stop us they can't stop us. As for the 2 point conversion, if you get it there's literally no chance a team can get 3 scores in a minute with no timeouts. If you kick the extra point there's an absolutely minuscule chance that a team could get 2 TDs in a minute with no timeouts. We were just trying to win the game.

Well if anyone could identify horrible coaching performances it's Rex Ryan.

Speaking of dumb ways to lose a football game...
patzen replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall
Every time a team that's not the Bills goes to spike it I hope the QB gets confused and kneels instead. Pretty great to see that it actually happened. Unfortunate for that kid and team but I've been waiting to see it lol. -
I'm curious as to how those stat people do their research because New England in 2007 had a better point differential over a 4 game winning streak than us. It was only by one point but it still happened. In week 7 they beat Miami 49-28 (21 pts), week 8 Wash 52-7 (45 pts), week 9 Indy 24-20 (4 pts), week 10 bye, week 11 Buffalo 56-10 (46 pts). Add up those point differences and you get 116. We've outscored our last four opponents by 115 points. So we just missed out I guess.

Wallace was out last year as well. Norman was our #1 CB lol. They had him matched up one on one against AJ Brown at times and that went poorly of course. Also, John Brown was out and that was significant because Andre Roberts had to play and Josh threw an early interception that went off Andre Roberts hands. I believe they immediately threw a TD to Brown while he was being covered by Norman. We have better depth and better health this year. Should be a very different result.

Literally nothing negative to say about this team or that performance tonight. Time to get another huge conference win this Monday night! Go Bills! -
Diggs sets new Bills and NFL record(s)
patzen replied to SlimShady'sSpaceForce's topic in The Stadium Wall
Passing TDs don't count as points scored. Whoever actually scores the touchdown gets the points. If they gave it to both the QB and whoever he throws to they would end up giving out more points scored than actual points scored in the game. -
Possibly. The bad memories tend to stick out a little more sometimes for whatever reason.
-
We were 5-0 in them last year and 2-1 in them the year before. Hopefully that makes you feel a little better?

That second play Baldy talked about was one of the best plays I've ever seen. Two guys coming free as he's rolling left so he stops and goes back right while making the rushers miss and throws a 40+ yard frozen rope to Diggs right on the sidelines. It was absolutely unreal and he makes that kind of stuff look easy and routine.

3 Yr Anniversary of “The Leap” 9/23/18
patzen replied to NoHuddleKelly12's topic in The Stadium Wall
Thanks for the reminder. I loved this game. I remember that the public was convinced we were complete garbage because not only did we look pretty terrible through two weeks but Vontae Davis also retired at halftime of the game before so people believed that McDermott had lost the locker room. And then we ended up reverse covering that monstrous spread. Another notable aspect of this game is that Adam Thielen got over 100 yards due to the Bills allowing a ton of garbage time yards. This is notable because Thielen would go on to tie the NFL record that year for most consecutive games with 100+ yards receiving and he wouldn't have tied the record if not for those yards in garbage time. -
Tua bruised ribs (update: fractured, headed to IR)

Oh absolutely. I'm not trying to say they should start Brissett over a healthy Tua, just that at this moment in time that I think Brissett is the better QB. -

Brissett was getting hounded all day and did a nice job evading the rush and making people miss and making throws under pressure that I don't think Tua would have been able to make. Brissett is very limited in his downfield passing, true, but I think he is the slightly better QB at this point in their careers but I think Tua will surpass him soon. -

His injury allowed Miami to put the better QB in the game IMO. But wishing him a speedy recovery. -
9/19/21 Week 2 Gameday Thread Bills @ Dolphins 2nd Half
patzen replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's like Miami's trying to run the clock out on themselves lmao. Great game! Go Bills! -
I agree with his overall premise that Josh regressing could mean just statistical regression and not regression of his play as a whole. But I don't necessarily agree with his assumption that Josh's stats are going to regress even after his week 1 performance. Last year Aaron Rodgers was 16/35 for 160 yards and two picks against Tampa Bay and still won MVP with one of his finest seasons ever. Also last season Tampa Bay was throttled 38-3 against New Orleans and went on to win the Super Bowl. Sometimes bad games are just bad games. Josh could still have an unbelievable statistical season. We just don't know yet.

Bills, Steelers week 1 temperature check
patzen replied to QBorBust2018's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
TJ Watt is holding out for a new contract, yes. Sadly, Stephon Tuitt's younger brother was killed in a hit and run accident about a month ago so he has chosen to not participate in practices but he is there for meetings and doing conditioning on the side. -
If we have to choose: McDermott or Daboll?
patzen replied to Westside Madness's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We have a top 5 head coach, a top 5 GM, a top 5 WR, and a top 5 QB. Our OC position would be one of the most coveted jobs in the NFL. I'm not terribly worried about replacing Daboll. But we'll probably just promote Ken Dorsey anyways. -
Game Balls Bills v. Bears 08/21/21
patzen replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Trubisky Rousseau Singletary Spencer Brown Wildgoose Epenesa Dawkins returning really helped our tackle depth look much better than last week and our defense and pass rush looked great. Very encouraging stuff all around. -
In regards to the OP I find it very difficult to believe we could go 14-3, lose to the Chiefs and win the 1 seed. That would require KC to lose 4 other games and I just don't see that happening. If we went 14-3 and beat the Chiefs I could see us getting the 1 seed. That scenario would require the Chiefs to only lose 2 other games. As for my prediction, I also believe we'll go 14-3, but a 15 or 16 win season is possible for this team but it's difficult to predict that because key injuries could cause us to lose a game or two here and there. I also would be shocked if we win fewer than 12 games this year. Should be a fun year! Thanks for the prediction OP!

Bills v. Lions 8/13/21 Game Balls
patzen replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rousseau Motor Bass Webb Very few injuries -
I'm pumped! Really looking forward to watching the D-line tonight. Lots of depth and potential there and we need people to step up in the middle and on the edge. I'm also going to nervously watch our offensive tackle depth (or lack thereof) and hope Brown and Doyle perform well. Should be a good one!

I bought two tickets for the last Jets game that year before the season started and they cost a couple hundred each and by the time that game started you could get tickets for 15 bucks a pop. And then we got blasted and had that super embarrassing kickoff gaffe. What a nightmare. It was a very nice day for the time of year though.
