And who will likely get moved to guard. We could have had Metcalf and likely drafted a guard later in the draft

Rachel Bush, contract negotiator/agent

Agreed. But it makes me wonder whether there might be some doubt if the Bills will give him the type of deal he wants. Keep in mind, the team has Jaquan Johnson at safety and he has looked very good. After 2020 when Poyer is a FA, Johnson will be in his third year and likely pushing for a starting role. Are you going to break the bank to keep a very good 30 year old safety when there is a player on rookie contract on the bench? -

It wasn’t the play call. He ran out when Josh started scrambling -

Ok how about Josh’s fumble or the backward lateral or the pass to the FB? Like I said, it’s a combination of many things -

I’m one of the people who have been rough on Josh - but this is a Very good point -

Did Daboll call a bad game? Or did Allen play below average? Or was it both? It’s hard to say -
Mariota will never happen. If the Bills do bring in a QB as insurance it’s an indictment on Allen. I will tell you who I’d like to see - Kenyon Drake from Arizona/Miami. He would be the type of big play/home run hitter running back that this team sorely misses

Defense does matter but so does an offense that can score points and not just nurse leads. Both Buffalo and Minnesota got off to 10 point leads and stopped scoring for the rest of regulation. This allowed the opponent to get back into the game. Defense matters, but at some point you need to score points on offense

So again, to illustrate my point Minnesota was up 20-10 in the 4th quarter. New Orleans found a way to tie up the game. You can’t fault the Minnesota for letting them tie it up....this is what good teams do. But Minnesota responded with a TD in overtime- led by Kirk Cousins. This is what was missing in the Bills game

I would definitely say this it was depressing. I didn’t sleep well at all last night and woke up a few times thinking about the game. The annoying this is that there are some question around this team and we won’t know about them until the season starts in September. But I guess the bigger picture is that this appears to be a team on the rise. Also as I stated in another thread the way that the 2019 team had won games probably wouldn’t have worked well to sustain a long playoff run. Now if the Bills were a big favorite to win the Super Bowl and lost on the divisional round, then that would be super depressing

He has improved a number of measurable metrics but that still puts him in the bottom half of the league in those measurable metrics. I just thought that last night was a great opportunity for Allen to turn the corner and to put up points against a weak defense, he didn’t do that. It doesn’t mean he won’t get there but yesterday was a missed opportunity for growth and some wonder whether this is Josh regressing to the mean. Back to “Wyoming Josh.” It doesn’t mean that’s what happened, but this should be the #1 concern for Bills fans going forward.

To your point, Yes I do believe coaches are trying to hide him. The reason they “put it on his shoulders” ’is because they have no other choice to and the game situation dictates that. This goes back to formula for winning. They don’t want it to get to the point where Allen has to win the game, and I think this dictated some of the decisions that fans are calling conservative. But I also think earlier in the 3rd quarter they could have called better plays and gotten Singletary more involved and not used Gore. Where your argument falls apart is that Josh hasn’t been able to keep up with teams that score 17 points or more. It happened in Cleveland, Baltimore, NE and now today. He has not come through and while he does deserve credit for fighting to get they last second FG in regulation, you can argue it never should have gotten to that point. On the previous possession Josh lost over 30 yards and it took a solid defensive stand on 4th down to get the football back. Again this is just my opinion, but after the game last night, I think it’s fair to question of Josh can actually turn the corner and become a better QB going into 2020.
