  1. Two things: injuries reducing the level of play of the offensive unit and more importantly defensive coaches noticing things and adjusting their defensive game plans to take away the easy stuff Allen and the O were getting.
  2. Which means that in deciding what QB would be better for Buffalo the intangibles drive the decision. And IMO Allen has the perfect temperament for Buffalo. I'm not sure that Mahomes does. So I would never trade Allen for Mahomes.
  3. QB's even Mahomes go through rough patches every season. The reasons for Allen's drop in production are those that you outlined: injuries to Allen and other offensive players - but also include a tough schedule & bad weather. And I don't believe Allen is "refusing" to take what defenses are giving him. At least I've yet to see compelling evidence of this. As for Knox, it appears he is desperately needed to shore up pass & run blocking. When you take an honest look at the Bills offense from top to bottom it's been a case of smoke & mirrors where the elite play of Allen & Diggs has masked a great many deficiencies. It's not surprising that defenses have adjusted to what the Bills actually can do and made it harder for them to keep doing it.
  4. To put 40 seconds back on the clock.
  5. These announcers are so dense. The Seattle challenge is more about saving 40 seconds then gaining 6 yards.
  6. Wow. The 49's have dropped at least 2 INT's and now Seattle returns the favor.
  7. I guess only time will tell whether that is really a concern.
  8. To be fair to Dorsey that worked because the 2nd fake was to McCaffrey and he always draws a crowd.
  9. They gave up a 2nd, 3rd & 4th in 2023 and a 5th in 2024. Would have been worth it IMO.
  10. Any people out there that still think McCaffrey wouldn't have been a huge addition to the Bills offense?
  11. Do you know what the NFL wants - a big TV audience for the game Saturday night. IMO a snow storm will only add to the number of eye balls watching the game. This weather forecast propels an already big game into the stratosphere by injecting a uniquely interesting twist. It makes it must see TV for football and sports fans. The NFL loves that.
  12. Sorry but I disagree with your entire premise. Allen is putting up great numbers and his team is winning in spite of having only one elite skills player on the roster. Even more impressively Allen is doing this with at best an average offensive line. There are limitations to what any QB can do, including those you call "a great QB". For the record, Allen is a great QB. Of this I have no doubt, do you? And finally are you really comparing 2022 Allen to 2022 Russel Wilson? I find that this seriously discredits your argument. IMO while the Bills have had some inconsistencies in their offensive performance over the last 6 games the QB play is least responsible.
  13. The last thing Allen needs to do is "get over himself". This guy has repeatedly shouldered the blame for anything that goes wrong on the offense and has never to my knowledge thrown a teammate or coach under the bus. And for the record Allen does a great job looking at the field. Particularly considering that as WideNine points out he is often running for his life to escape initial pressure.
  14. There are always receivers open. A QB can not be expected to always see them. And if a receiver sometimes runs the wrong route or doesn't finish it off correctly or drops the ball a QB may be less likely to look there way to see when they're open.
  15. Correct. Second and 4 beats second & 10 every time.
  16. Especially on 3rd and 5! Remember the throw to Cook against Detroit that almost resulted in Allen's worst interception of the year? I suspect that screw-ups by the receivers in the middle of the field has been occurring more then we realize and is on clear display in the film room.
  17. You heard wrong, it's jet sweeps that Beasley will be running all night.
  18. As an aside all this Beasley hate is an interesting social phenomena. I would think that given the facts that have emerged since the end of the covid outbreak Beasley's comments don't seem quit so controversial today. As to whether or not he was a distraction, I agree with other posters who point out that there is absolutely NO evidence that Beasley was a distraction to the Bills football team last season. And if he can add just one additional 3rd down conversion per game that the Bills would otherwise not have gotten his signing will be more then worth it.
  19. Of course Beasley's skills were deteriorating in 2021. We could all see that. Yet his 82 catches, many for first downs and at critical times in a game, were far more productive & consistent then we've gotten from the slot this season. Beasley's greatest strength is his ability to read zone defenses prior to the snap. Here his relationship with Allen is crucial. His presence on the field immediately increases our chances of converting 3rd and short and extending drives. We're at the point in the season where extending only one or two drives will be the difference between winning and losing a game. IMO those that are hostile to Beasley's signing here are just pissed off that he took an unpopular stand on covid vaccination. How do I come to this conclusion? Because there is no logical football based argument against signing Beasley today.
  20. It was a question of cost versus productivity. Clearly Beasley was to expensive going into 2022 and his skills were deteriorating. The Bills recognized that they needed to replace Beasley's production with a younger and cheaper slot guy. Crowder was signed and Shakir was drafted. They also hoped McKenzie could grow into the role. But Crowder got hurt and McK/Shakir haven't been able to take up the slack. Signing Beasley at this point in the season is dirt cheap and the risk even if it turns out he can't play is minimal.
  21. Have you been watching Bills football the last 4 seasons? Beas brings a special skill set, breaking down zone coverage's, that we badly miss. There is no one available on a practice squad that brings Beasley's special set of skills: like knowing the O, knowing Allen, having great hands and is sneaky good at finding the open space in a zone.
  22. Allen has done it the right way whereas Rogers has gone public in a big way. From day one Allen has seemed wiser then his years.
  23. This is also an admission by Bean and McD that the current crop of WR's is not productive enough. People can claim that Allen made this happen but even Allen couldn't get Brown & Beas back if we were seeing good production out of the slot and were stretching the field more. This also indicates that game film was not kind to the WR's & RB's running patterns and trying give the Bills a semblance of a slot receivers production. They didn't go after McCaffrey for his running between the tackles. I give McD & Bean credit for swallowing their pride and bringing these two guys back to help the team. Even though this action signals that Bills management failed in the off season to upgrade or even maintain the production of the WR group.
  24. Not necessarily. This move might actually free up McK to be the gadget guy again whose best plays in the passing game are when a play breaks down and Allen goes off script. I suspect that the ineffective two RB formations on passing downs will be replaced by more 4 WR formations with Diggs, Davis, McK and Beas. This will give Allen & Dorsey a better layering of the field on pass plays.
  25. And we need him to CATCH a 5 yard pass on 1st down and set us up with a 2nd & 5 rather then a 2nd & 10. I also think this might actually help McK out. Rather then ask him to run the precise, sit down in the zone, routes that a Beas can execute to perfection McK is now able to freelance more which is in tune with his gadget player mode.
