The Bengal's new safeties look vulnerable to me.

And earlier the announcers were saying how only Tua was throwing the ball better then Stafford. And then they flash a stat with Stafford having 1 TD and 2 INT's! These talking heads are just plain stupid.

A lot of comments about Burrow being hurt yet he's attempted 31 passes in the first half. Are we looking at a 60 pass night in a game as far away from being a shootout as the moon is from the earth?

But this is also what makes Allen special. More importantly Allen's chances of connecting on those harder throws are better then almost every other QB. They are not as low a probability of being completed as if it was Danial Jones or Kurt Cousins taking them. Like most things in life moderation is the place to be and for Allen that means not taking the easy throws all the time.

I liked your review as usual. My only quibble would be on the Allen shot to Knox in the end zone. I think it was a great call and Allen made the right decision and he fit the ball into a tight space as only Allen and 1 or 2 other QB's in the NFL can do. It was absolutely the right amount of aggression on 1st down at the 19 and it should have resulted in a TD. Not catching that ball is what keeps Knox, who is a very good TE, from being elite. If he starts catching those more regularly and/or Kincaid can make that type of catch then the Bills will be seeing elite level TE play. That will make our offense even harder to stop, particularly in the Red Zone.

Multiple Bills have talked about playing to the weakness of the team they're facing. In this type of game where the weather at the outset was iffy and your D was expected to shutdown the opponents O settling for FG's in the Red Zone is no bad thing. Against a better offense, like Miami, you need to play more aggressively and get TD's. Of course the greater aggregation can also lead to more Red Zone TO's. The risk is worth it against a high powered offense. Against a team like the Commanders it wasn't. And in hindsight against a Jet's team without Rogers any payoff for Allen's aggression wasn't worth it.

I think that the NE playoff game has permanently spoiled and distorted Bills fans about what NFL offenses should look like week in and week out. Yesterday it was raining in the first half and the Bills faced one of the top 5 defensive fronts in the NFL. Of course the offense won't look like a well oiled machine on every play. I thought for the nature of the opponent and the way our D was playing the Bills offense was quite good. When we were left with the ball at our own 1 & 2 yard lines the Offense put on nice drives to move the ball into Redskin territory. Only a couple of penalties and a dropped pass prevented us from scoring more then 3 points on those 2 drives. The Bills appear to have made some major changes in their offensive philosophy. This fact makes their performance over the last 2 games all the more satisfying. Yea and Dallas, with what the national media is calling the best Defense since the 85 Bears gave up 28 points to some Arizona QB named Josh Dobbs!

And the Bills drafting over the last couple of years is looking better and better. You have Brown, Cook, Barnard, Benson, Torrence, Kincaid & Groot. If the young guys keep getting better the Bills SB window is wide open for the foreseeable future.

What I found most interesting about this video was Warner's insistence that Allen played well in week one against the Jets. He made the case that except for two bad decisions Allen had a solid game. And the stats kind of back him up where Allen did complete 71% of his passes against the Jets and for periods of time did show patience and take the "lay ups".

Herbert increasingly reminds me of Cousins: very good QB who puts up great stats but in the end the results don't seem to match the production.

I agree 100%. This is how I've been thinking about what playing great defense means ever since that perfect weather day in Rich Stadium in the 1991 AFC championship game against Denver in which our O loaded with future HOF layers could only manage 3 points. The defense won that game and put us in the SB.

Bingo. We all agreed that Allen really struggled in week one and cost the Bills the game with his careless TO's. Where a lot of us parted ways was in taking that one game and extrapolating it to all sorts of gloom & doom scenarios. Allen's track record over the last 3 seasons speaks for itself and it should have reassured people that he was going to bounce back in a big way.

That was a very bad game from Watson. It's fair to say that he lost the Browns the game. Going back to last year Watson has played in 8 games and has 11 total TD's and 7 TO's. This includes a pick 6 and a lost fumble run back for a TD. Right now it's a battle between Kyler Murrey & DeShaun Watson as to who is the least productive and most overpaid QB in the NFL.

Give credit where the credit is due: Watson with a Pick 6 and a fumble 6.

And this is where elite, special QB's like Mahomes & Allen make a difference. The Bills scored two Red Zone TD's as a result of jaw dropping plays by Allen as their long drives appeared to peter out.

Yes he was and the announcer even asked why a flag wasn't thrown. Also did anyone else think it was stupid for Adams to be playing on that last Raider drive? I mean the game is over so why are you throwing the ball to your best offensive player over the middle of the field?

I thought starting the game with 2 straight runs was less about putting "Allen on a leash" and more about breaking tendencies. The Bills almost never run the ball twice in a row. I don't get the insistence on perfection in a sport whch has only seen one team in it's 100 year history go undefeated. The Bills were lethal in the Red Zone yesterday. Failing to score on one drive from the 1 yard line should not constitute a problem in the context of how all the other Red Zone visits went. There was no need to throw the ball deep. The Raiders stubbornly and foolishly stayed in their shell D hoping that the pundits were right and Allen would grow bored and throw a couple of INT's.

Two factors are in play here: 1) Social media and streaming has led to a proliferation of so called NFL "experts". As their numbers have increased the football IQ of their discussions has plummeted. 2) From before the 2018 draft there has been a negative take on Allen that refuses to disappear. Allen's extraordinary play has pushed it into the shadows but it springs back after even mediocre games and explodes back into view after a rare Allen bad game. I don't know of another QB who gets this kind of treatment. I guess when you make your living delivering hot takes on the NFL and you get it as wrong as these guys got it with Allen you can never let it go.

You more then most should know that transitive properties don't apply in football. BTW, in the 2nd quarter Sauce dropped what would have been an easy pick six. I got a feeling that last Monday night he wouldn't have dropped that same pass from Allen.

The truth is they aren't happy. They were probably thrilled after the Raiders went up 7 - 0 and the Bills went three and out and then roof fell in.

And when needed Allen made a couple of his patented special plays.

Judas Priest this game should scare the crap out of the AFC. How long can teams scheme to force Allen to be patient when: * He's 31/37 for 274 yards & 3 TD's * The offense scores 38 points being beyond patient. * The Bills have OVER 40 MINUTES of TOP! * The Bills rush for 183 yards and 2 TD's. At some point teams are going to have to bring safeties to the LOS. And you know what that means.
