  1. And Wilson was awful as he tried to make a case for getting into the Check Down Charley HOF. The Steelers are so screwed at QB.
  2. I didn't think Williams looked that good. Living down here in Cincinnati I watched the first half and I saw Williams go 3 & out the first three possessions when he faced mostly Bengal's starters. He was like 2 of 6 for 12 yards with a couple of really bad passes. It wasn't until the Bengals back ups were in late in the 2nd quarter that Williams did anything. I'll reserve my judgement. As for the Bears, damn they seem to be trying real hard to win their preseason games. Burrow didn't play and the backup QB was hurt so the Bengals went with their 3rd string QB and he moved the ball on the Bears 1st team D.
  3. So you're saying that a 2 yard TD pass is better then a 15 yard one?
  4. My favorite Allen pass was his 75 yard throw to Foster his rookie year as three Jacksonville D linemen were engulfing him. That throw told me Allen was something very different.
  5. Applying Analytics to the results of the 1st week of preseason is ridiculous. It's like putting ketchup on uncooked road kill - it won't help. Sorry but Turner and Cover 1 must be doing drugs to even bother looking at such data. For crying out loud they apply a level of precision, 34.8% not just 35%, that is laughably crazy for a game that neither team is actually trying to win.
  6. Also the weather will be much better the first half of the season which will make 4000+ yards a certainty IMO if Allen stays healthy (knocking on wood).
  7. Fair enough but do you think today's Bills care any more then the old Bills whether they win or lose these games?
  8. Against the Steelers last season they looked even worse IMO and that was in the 2nd preseason game. The Bills were down 14 - 0 at the end of the 1st quarter while playing their starters. It was 21 - 0 at the half and 27 - 0 at the end of the 3rd quarter. The only players to do better in last preseason's dud game were the 3rd & 4th stringers who mostly did not make the 53 man roster. And given the turnover in players this season it's not surprising that coming out of the gate in 2024 the Bills would be flat and get stomped in the 4th quarter by a team that had already played a preseson game.
  9. This is distorting why some wee annoyed with Diggs: * There are effective and not effective ways to be "demanding of teammates". Diggs approach appeared to be counterproductive doing more damage then actually getting your teammates to play better. * Diggs himself under performed in the playoffs. I believe that he had only 2 TD catches in 9 playoff games with the Bills. Even more alarming was that during the last two seasons (2022 &2023) Diggs production fell off sharply later in the season after starting on fire during September & October. Diggs appeared to be the Tua/Dolphins of WR's here.
  10. Which is exactly what coaches want for next weeks practice.
  11. That quick hitting WR screen to Samuel was just the tip of the iceberg of what that guy is going to do with that play in the regular season.
  12. A distinction without much of a difference. I'll rephrase my statement though: back in the day when they were going to Super Bowls the Bills had plenty of preseason games in which the level of play was bad.
  13. Why are people surprised that in their first live game, against a team that was playing their 2nd live game, the IOL which has seen an almost complete overhaul struggled to execute the run? This will be easily worked out by the opening game.
  14. Didn't the Bills have a combined 4 - 12 preseason record the years they went to 4 straight Super Bowls?
  15. Post of the thread. And last years Steeler preseason debacle was in the 2nd preseason game which is supposedly the "important" one.
  16. You are grossly overgeneralizing here. Again, I think it's pretty damn weird that a Bills fan can be libeled a "homer" on TWO BILLS DIVE for being optimistic about the WR group this season. You're the one calling people "homers" on TWO BILLS DRIVE. Seems like you're staking out the extreme position here.
  17. Yea, it's extraordinary that on a Buffalo Bills message board Bills fans, like almost every other fan-base in America, are positive and excited about a team with an elite QB that has gone to the playoffs 5 straight years and won 4 straight division titles. I just don't get it when there are so many reasons to be negative and miserable.
  18. I take that to mean that Allen may be about to make another big jump in performance similar to what he did in 2020.
  19. Leadership comes in many different forms. In football, performance in practice and on the field are big ones.
  20. I loved the addition of Samuel and think his impact will be on the order that Beasley's was in 2019. I also think Coleman will be one of those rookie WR's that has a big impact in their 1st season. Throw in the expected improvements of Cook & Kincaid, elevating both into the top 10% at their positions; a solid O line an improving Shakir and a reliable Knox and this always had the making of a good offense. Throw in Allen and it has the potential to be a great offense.
  21. You should see my shocked face.
  22. It also illustrates the sheer offensive brilliance of Andy Reid.
  23. Wow, I wonder if this will shut some people up. Those are amazing numbers.
  24. Not true. Given that it was a divisional round playoff game and a Bills win would have had them playing in their 2nd straight AFC championship game that loss, entirely on the coaching staff, is worth 10 regular season losses (which is equal to about 2 full Bills seasons over the last 4 years).
  25. Your first paragraph is talking about stuff completely out of context.
