  1. Joe Brady has just used up all the good will he generated in the first 3 games. What the hell was he thinking? You never and I mean never line Curtis Samuel up behind center when the gene is turning your way and you may be on your way to a grate comeback. What the hell goes through the head of these guys in the booth?
  2. Both the O and D line are getting whipped up front. Raven receivers are getting high school open. Two holding penalties on the o line. The only good so far is Allen who in spite of almost no support on the field is making plays and Bass for drilling a 50 yard FG.
  3. The answer to the question posed by this thread is YES, in fact HELL YES.
  4. The entire D line has been missing in action. This is the worst defensive performance by a McD coached team in Buffalo. The fumble by Jackson was more about his carelessness with the ball then our defense.
  5. I think he was better prepared then Ruhle. As I recall Carolina's scoring went down after he was fired. At the same time that was one hell of a jump from Saints quality control to LSU passing game coordinator to Carolina OC.
  6. I suspect that Brady won't be to quick to take a head coaching job unless it' the perfect spot. He was promoted from college to be an NFL OC way to quickly and he wasn't ready. He suffered through getting thrown under the bus and has to consider himself lucky to have landed with Buffalo. I doubt he makes the same mistake again.
  7. Looking at the score sounds like he beat the hell out of the Vikings prevent defense.
  8. What I took away from last nights game was that the NE defense looked very slow and tackled very poorly. They will be lucky to win 4 games this season. The Jets looked like a solid 9 or 10 win team.
  9. There were two throws on the 85 yard Bills drive that put them up 17 - 7 and set in motion the beat down that showed that Allen will still take a chance with a gunslinger type throw: 1) The first was at the start of the drive facing a 2nd & 11 at their own 14 whch could easily turn into a 3rd & 9 and then a punt Allen fired a missile to Shakir who was in tight coverage for a 16 yard gain. Poyer then laid on the late hit and the Bills were at the 45. 2) Later in that same drive facing a 3rd & 13 Allen extended the play and made a great throw for 33 yards to Johnson giving the Bills a 1st & goal at the 1.
  10. Herby still does college football which he's quite good at.
  11. It was the one play where Allen had to be superman and he delivered. We're leading 10 - 7 and it's 3rd and 13 from the 34. If we don't convert it's a long FG try. Miss it and game momentum turns on a dime. Instead he makes a spectacular throw to the one yard line and a play later Cook scores to make it 17 - 7 and we now have control of the game.
  12. That may be harder then it sounds given that Allen can go into beast mode when needed.
  13. I'm not sure that the hand was bothering Allen all that much. He took a lot of snaps from under center and he made a couple of wow throws like the one to Shakir where Poyner had the PF and the 34 yard dart to Johnson.
  14. Kincaid caught 2 passes in the 2nd half.
  15. He was asked to be Superman on only one play and he was. 3rd & 13 at the Dolphins 45 leading 10 - 7 and he throws a 34 yard dart to Johnson to the one yard line. Bills go up 17 - 7 and the game was effectively over. This is the complementary football McD is always talkign about and I could grow to love it.
  16. Reed came through big time in the playoffs which is why he got into the HOF. Diggs has been at best average in the playoffs.
  17. I think if CMAC was on the field a couple of those 49 FG drives would have been TD drives and it would have been an even bigger blowout. The holes that were being opened in the Jet D line were huge and CMAC likley would have also taken one to the house from distance to. Last night was a bad sign for the Jet's D as they were awful.
  18. I would say the Bengal's and Andy Dalton ended the drought by going into Baltimore and against every reasonable expectation beating the Ravens.
  19. Imagine CMAC running through some of those holes the 49's are opening up. I'm actually stunned at how bad the Jets D is playing considering CMAC is out and two key players just signed a couple of days ago.
  20. Wait, so the Jets might not win the division?
  21. The Bills are very tight lipped about this sort of thing so I'm not surprised we haven't heard any details yet. I suspect though that if it was bad news that would seep out and we would be hearing stuff by now.
  22. The difference is what I would call the danger of penalizing a virtuous cycle. The other calls you mention broke both ways (on the play before the Allen fumble there was a clear hands to the face by Cards DT on a Bills O lineman that was not called) and involved the usual subjective issue with calling late hits on the QB, holding & PI. What makes the screw up on the Murray "hit" different is that the NFL has elevated this to a special status as a way to prevent injury. College & High School football have done the same. This is the one penalty they have to get right or as others have noted you might as well nail the guy. College football employs a replay for this one penalty and the NFL should also. As I said anytime you get away from rewarding (no call) virtuous behavior and penalize it instead you introduce a rot to whatever system you're trying to run.
  23. Not sounding an alarm just noting why the line may have moved a point. Like I said, some key pieces were out. As for Murray's stats I would give the Bills D line and the wind some credit to.
  24. I'm not sure I would agree that the Bills secondary was fine yesterday, I would characterize them as a work in progress with some key pieces out. In the first half they were pretty bad and had a very bad blown coverage on Harrison late.
  25. What made that call so bad is that in the future coaching clinics are going to use it to show how DB's should react to a last minute slide by a QB. Even though Ingram had very little warning he used great athleticism to avoid hitting Murray. That call needed to be overturned by NY in the moment. Instead the gross incompetents penalized a player for doing the right thing.
