  1. Actually I thought he made a lot of on target throws that this group of WR's couldn't make a play on the ball because it's a WR group of special team players, developmental rookies and practice squad guys. Remember the ball hitting Coleman in the helmet on that read option play? If Allen is sick it's that unless he carries the ball himself 15 times they can't run an offense with what they have on the field.
  2. Total lack of talent of the Bills WR's without Shakir.
  3. I've been told that we have one up in the booth though it sure looked like a catch to me. Also at that point in the half we had the TO to spare.
  4. And at their worst the Chiefs haven't fielded a WR group as bad as this one. With Shakir out that is a practice squad group. I'm hoping Coleman will develop but Samuel looks like a bust like Harty & Sherfield.
  5. You run the ball three straight times. Hell maybe you pick up the first down. You likely gain at least a couple of yards. They use all 3 TO's and all you have to do to force OT is protect the boundary. Given the almost total lack of talent at the WR position even getting a first down with 3 straight passes was a long shot. Like I said before I was agnostic about McD but this was so bad that combined with his failure to challenge the Kincaid catch I'm done. The Bills could do better, a lot better.
  6. I wouldn't have been mad. When they downed the ball at the 4 there was no realistic chance they could get into FG range. In fact there was more of a chance that the Bills would hold while Allen was in the end zone and lose the game on a safety. Run three straight times and you almost guarantee OT.
  7. Disagree. Three straight runs would have likely gained 5 yards and even if the punt is the same they have 7 seconds with no TO's. Protect the boundary and anything competed on the playing field runs the clock out. For me, who has been agnostic on the matter of keeping or firing McD this is the straw that broke the camels back.
  8. 10%? How about 1%. What were they thinking? So today McD doesn't challenge the Kincaid catch along the sideline and then whatever the hell that was at the end of the game. How long are we going to put up with this crap?
  9. Three straight runs uses up all the Texans TO's and they can't run the play they did. Fire McDermitt
  10. Wow, Darnold has turned into the Darnold we all knew.
  11. A real limitation of older QB's like Rogers is that on both 3rd & 4th & short he doesn't represent a threat to run.
  12. Yea that approach worked so well with Jerry and the Boys!
  13. Are you ignoring the first game?
  14. Actually better then I expected. I think we're now the solid favorite to win the division and get at least one home playoff game.
  15. This is a simple concept that IMO the Bills have completely disregarded in favor of playing complimentary football (balanced O & D). If the goal was to just outscore your opponent then the Bills would have needed to do what Miami has done and directed the lions share of their resources to the offense. Of course Miami has not been as successful with their approach as the Bills have been with theirs. The intriguing question is IF the Dolphins had Allen would their approach have worked better? I think the answer is yes.
  16. But didn't Allen make a couple of his best throws to Coleman after the trick play and his taking that hard hit?
  17. The three throws to Coleman were fantastic also. Even though he was running for his life Allen was actually sharp tonight. I am concerned at how little separation we saw out there from the Receivers.
  18. Yep that was a 33 - 6 beat-down in 1991 which was probably the best of our 4 Super Bowl teams. The Bills only had 2 FG's that game and the Chiefs out gained us 397 to 211 yards (info from Sal Maiorana's outstanding book RELENTLESS) Another bad Super Bowl era beat down was when the Bills lost 23 - 0 to Pittsburgh on Monday Night Football in 1993. More recently the Bills lost to the Colts in 2021 at Orchard Park 41 - 15 and a 42 - 16 prime time loss to TN in 2020.
  19. I thought Bishop acquitted himself well. Might be time to go with him and take your lumps with a rookie at safety.
  20. It's a long season. That record we have in one score games was bound to end and it did spectacularly tonight. The fact remains that if the Bills go 12 - 5 they've had a fantastic season and will win the division. Brady's trick play was a bad call and I'm not saying that in hindsight. When Allen is on the field no one believes he isn't ending up with the ball when Samuel is behind center. The Raven defenders flew to Allen on that play and blew it up. The only trick plays that will ever work is if Allen touches the ball first and then the trick play happens. Like those throws back to Allen for TD's that Beasley & Brown made. In defense of Brady though he had been excellent for 12 straight games (including playoffs) so he was due for a clunker.
  21. It's only one game but tonight the receivers are getting almost no separation. half of Alleyn's completions have been fantastic throws.
  22. But in today's NFL it wasn't a lot to ask.
  23. That miss is unacceptable in today's NFL.
