  1. Drew Lock from Denver was being reported as testing positive and missing today's game. I heard the report on the Sirius NFL channel at 8:45 am.
  2. Judas Priest, that sky looks like a November Orchard Park sky!
  3. White looked okay. The TD was a blown coverage but he did make a couple of nice throws on that drive. On the first drive he should have been intercepted.
  4. Allen is a little bit boring which is exactly what we want here.
  5. How many times during the great 20 year drought did a Bills team flash some life in the first half of a season only to lose a game like yesterday and then go on a 3 game losing streak ending the season early and triggering draft talk for the next season? You would have a 4 - 3 Bills team host a team they should beat, everyone would be sky high and Rich Stadium would be rocking. The Bills would get off to a slow start and be tied 3 - 3 half way through the 3rd quarter and then the wheels would come off - a big INT, the D gives up a huge play and in the end the Bills lose 17 - 6. Yesterday we saw what a serious Super Bowl contender with a franchise QB does in a similar situation - outscore the team they should beat 23 - 8 in the last 20 minutes of the game and walk away with the W.
  6. It's automatic at that point in the game and with that score. In theory, if the Bills get the 2 it becomes a 3 score game and the Bills win. If you kick the EP there is still a very slim chance that the Dolphins score 2 TD's in the last minute and get 2 two point conversions and you're in OT. I've seen stranger things in my life of watching college & NFl football.
  7. Oh please that last score sealed the deal. And don't forget it was a division and conference opponent and point differential might come into play.
  8. It's not about people hating on Murray. He's actually a very good player who is exciting to watch much in the Flutie tradition. And comparing him to Fluties is NOT a putdown. Whether that INT was on Murray or Green or both doesn't change the fact that under the circumstances that was a dangerous throw to make in that situation. The rule of thumb is that if you don't see the guy wide open you put the ball in the cheap seats behind the end zone. Had Allen made an identical throw that was intercepted against the Titans at the end of that game many of the usual suspects on 2BD would be decrying Allen's "hero ball" or "lack of accuracy". So we call Murray out in part to remind these folks that every QB does stuff like this.
  9. Maybe. But watching Murry play he just throws the ball up. A 50/50 ball like that is dangerous in that situation at the end of the game. Bottom line is that Murry throws a ball up with a DB in the hip pocket of the WR.
  10. I don't think that was on Green. Murry just throws the ball up if he's under pressure. My guess is that the pass was going to the other side and Green was just running a diversionary route.
  11. They also know that the running game is not a Bills strength either. You only "invite the run" in the Red Zone when you don't fear a teams running backs.
  12. "Just gets a finger on it"? He knocked the ball back towards Winston - some finger!
  13. Maybe the left side of the Bills line should take some tips on how to block the sneak from NO. Maybe the left side of the Bills line should take some tips on how to block the sneak from NO.
  14. Memo to NFL officiating crews: when you blow an illegal motion penalty on 4th & 1 wait at least a couple of plays before calling a make up holding penalty.
  15. Most folks would agree with this. What this thread starter has thrown out there is an interesting observation. This is the first time Mahomes has faced real adversity as the QB of the Chiefs. I think he'll respond just fine and by the end of the season he'll be back among the top 5 QB's in the NFL. But it is a fair observation especially considering that some Bills fans over the last 6 weeks on 2BD have speculated that Allen: * has regressed and last year was just a mirrage * can't play in "big" games * can't play in front of big crowds. So if we have to listen to that sort of dribble speculating on what the future holds for Mahomes is certainly warranted.
  16. I don't agree with this at all. Allen isn't playing well? Really? Some folks watch Allen through a magnifying glass noting every little thing he does wrong. Then they apparently watch the rest of the NFL through a curtain not seeing that EVERY QB misses open throws; that EVERY QB doesn't see open receivers and that over the course of a game EVERY QB makes plays that contribute to both winning & losing a game.
  17. I don't agree with this. IMO the Bills did a terrible job in developing Allen through the off season camps, preseason and the early part of the 2018 season. The Bills clearly didn't expect to or want to play Allen his rookie year. They completely tore down their offense in preparation for the rebuild. The last thing I suspect they wanted to do was throw Allen to the wolves with the worst collection of offensive talent in the NFL that year. Allen did not take many first team reps throughout training camp and the preseason and the competition for the starting job was between Peterman & McCarron. When McCarron bolted, rumors claim he didn't want to babysit Allen, the Bills were left with starting Peterman! Arguably the worst QB in the NFL. But given how fierce the defenses were in the first 4 games of the Bills schedule that year - Ravens, Chargers, Vikings & Packers - the Bills opted to start Peterman. The problem was Peterman set another horrible NFL record to add to his most INT's in a half. The offense did not get a 1st down through the first 9 series. Allen went in and to avoid a fan revolt they had no choice but to start Allen the next week. Making matters worse there was no veteran QB to help Allen out and his "top" WR dropped at least 3 TD's during Allen's first few starts! It was only after Allen got hurt that the Bills got their act together and: * dumped Holmes and Benjamin at WR who were killing Allen's confidence with their drops * brought in two veteran QB's to stabilize he QB room and provide Allen with much needed guidance. That Allen survived the Bills mismanagement and actually was thriving by the end of his rookie season is a testament to his fortitude. It is true that after his rookie season the Bills have been brilliant in developing Allen and providing him with the tools to succeed. But the notion that the Bills organization was smart in developing Allen early in his career is not supported by the evidence.
  18. I think he might be referring to the Bills/Bengals game from 1989? The Bills won that game 24 - 7 and I was at Rich Stadium for the game. I remember it rained a bit and it was cold/windy. I checked the stats for that game and Collinsworth didn't have a catch.
  19. He's not disappointed anymore!
  20. So you can smack QB's in the face mask now?
  21. Not only rain but wind and landslides and poop running down the streets and four evil looking dudes on horse riding up over the hills!
  22. The best thing for Wilson would be to sit and watch the games for the next month. Allen benefited greatly from his 4 week break his rookie year. Rushing Wilson back would be another sign at just how screwed up an organization they are. And I'm not saying this because I want him to miss the Bills game. With or without Wilson wouldn't matter to the final score.
  23. After coming out and leading the Ravens on a great drive to open the 2nd half and throwing a beautiful 39 yard TD pass Jackson disappeared from the game. The Bengals would outscore the Ravens 28 - 0 after Jackson's opening 3rd quarter drive. I do think Jackson is a special talent at QB who is a better passer then some think. BUT, today a passing shootout broke out in the second half of the game and Jackson was MIA. Similar to his disappearance in playoff games, today's loss was a big deal within the AFC North. With a few different bounces of the ball the Bills could easily be 6 - 0. On the other hand a few different bounces of the ball would leave Baltimore at 3 - 4 or even 2 - 5.
  24. Fields had 5 turnovers today - 3 INT's & 2 lost fumbles - that's Petermanesque!
  25. Wow the NFL is a week to week league. Baltimore is getting absolutely blow away. Bengals have over 500 yards of offense.
