Allen did his part in the KC playoff game so IMO there's nothing he has to overcome in that regard.

Your heart is in the right place but this guy is obviously a troll. BTW you did a nice job laying out the situation with the Brown family.
-
Like I said you don't know the Brown family.
-
They don't hire QB coaches unless they need one and they're very patient with whoever is caching their team. They don't fire one guy just to hire another.
-
You don't know much about the Brown family (Bengal's owners) do you? Also Brady didn't become available until the middle of the season and last I looked the Bengals are still playing. So no,there was no way that Brady was going to the Bengals.
-
Brady was promoted to soon. Going from passing game coordinator/WR coach at LSU to NFL offensive coordinator in one year was to big of a jump. But what he did at LSU, a program with almost no history of a high octane passing attack, was exceptional. And the success of the players in the NFL that he coached can not be denied. As for Carolina, not sure Brady can be blamed for that #### storm. First off, the Panthers offense nose dived after Brady was fired. And Brady didn't trade for Sam Darnold or sign Cam Newton or injure CMAC. Hiring Brady was a great move by the Bills. He's clearly an offensive minded guy who can design innovative passing schemes. And he now has a burning desire to prove his detractors wrong. Oh and I assume Dorsey will be calling the plays not Brady.

They didn't have an opening.

Allen is very coachable and open to any ideas that improve his game. Joe Brady is well known to the QB's & WR's of the NFL because of that amazing season at LSU. Allen will appreciate the insight Brady brings to the table and Brady will appreciate that he's lucked into coaching the NFL's most electrifying QB. There is ever reason to believe that these two will make magic together.

Check out these highlights from the LSU versus Oklahoma playoff game in 2019:
-
It's easy to say today that Burrow, Chase and Jefferson were always great but the reality is that they were relative unknowns when Brady took the job as LSU's passing coordinator in 2019. The LSU head coach and offensive coordinator suspected they had something special with these guys but didn't have the knowledge to create an offense they could flourish in. Brady not only implemented an NFL stye passing game at LSU he called the pass plays on game day. And that LSU team went to have the greatest passing attack in college football history with the QB and both WR's having great success in the NFL. For me it's Brady's experience at LSU that is so exciting for what he might do in Buffalo with Allen. Brady recognized that he had an NFL caliber QB and WR's and he designed an NFL passing attack to take advantage. Go back and watch some of those LSU games in 2019, particularly the SEC championship game and the two playoff games to see how Brady coordinates a passing attack. Not only will Diggs love what Brady brings to the table but Davis s going to really emerge as a threat in a Brady passing system.
-
I suspect that as more Bills fans become aware of Brady's history and what he did at LSU they are going to get real excited about the possibilities here. IMO this could be a perfect storm that results in a historically explosive NFL offense.

This might be the most important under the radar coaching hire by the Bills in the last 20 years. Joe Brady is a phenom when it comes to designing an elite passing attack. What he did in LSU in one season with a transfer QB and a couple of unknown WR's is the stuff of legend. LSU did not have a reputation of being a passing team. They were a play great defense and run the ball type of program. That Joe Brady was the sole architect of an LSU passing offense that was the greatest ever seen in college football history is beyond dispute. Both the LSU head coach and offensive coordinator were novices when it came to implementing an NFL level passing game. That's why they hired Brady. Obviously going from Saints Offensive Quality Control coach to Passing game coordinator at LSU to offensive coordinator at Carolina in three years was a classic case of being promoted to fast. Now we have a guy who was thrown under the bus by the Panthers getting a chance to take a step back and show the league what he can do. We should all be very excited at what Dorsey, Brady and Allen will do together. I suspect we're about to see history made.

Webb is not our QB coach. Speculation was wrong

Signing Brady is huge. My understanding was that he was an offensive quality control gopher for the Saints when he impressed then LSU coach Ed Orgeron after he presented a seminar on creating a successful NFL style passing attack. He was promptly hired as the passing coordinator for LSU (they already had an offensive coordinator). Brady went to a college with NO history of being a passing program and in one summer molded a transfer QB named Joe Burrow and a couple of unknown WR's named Chase & Jefferson into the greatest passing attack in College football history. After that one record setting season he was hired as offensive coordinator for the Panthers and then fired (thrown under the bus) a year later. It was clear Brady was promoted to quickly to NFL offensive coordinator. Now the Bills are getting a real talent that understands how to create an explosive and effective NFL passing attack. This might be the most important off season coaching hire by the Bills in years. -
Don't be surprised if Josh Allen has a bumpy 2022

Nick, Nick Wright, is that you man? Boy you must be real pissed off the way the Chiefs and Mahomes choked in the 2nd half against the Bengals. I would be to if Allen wet the bed in the same way. -

It's funny how creative these Allen "hate" threads have become. And I do mean HATE. Oh sure they couch their words carefully and throw out some insincere praise - "Allen is good BUT........" - still it's clear they're throwing shade at Allen and trying not to look completely ridiculous in doing it. Sure anything can happen next year. But how can any thinking Bills fan not be optimistic about our QB situation? I just don't get it. Now you've lost all credibility. Judas Priest are you serious here? -

Okay I'll bite - Allen is already getting the Mahomes treatment of a two deep safety shell. The difference is that Allen's otherworldly arm talent and his running ability can negate that defense. I think most of the Bills "turbulence" we saw this year had less to do with Allen and a lot to do with a franchise learning how to be consistent at the top of the heap. This is why the comparisons to 1989 are so apt. The Bills had to shed their underdog image and learn to win ugly when they were the favorites. Their season ending four game winning streak to claim the division title included astonishing performances by Allen twice against NE. And then the loss to KC which was simply a fluke with Allen again playing almost flawlessly. Next season Allen will struggle a couple of times but the Bills will win ugly because they now know what it means not to get home field advantage. Allen will shine in most of his games next season. I think he will be the front runner to win the MVP. I don't see Allen struggling next year I see him growing fully into the best QB in the NFL. -
-
This is a great point. Going back to Allen's rookie season think about all the receivers who had their best games/seasons with Allen throwing to them. Diggs, Brown, Beasley, McKenzie, Sanders, Davis and Foster. Allen is the very definition of a QB that elevates those around him.
-
I always hear this as a way to downgrade current QB stats compared to those from the golden age. But were those 1960's/70's defenses as sophisticated in their coverage schemes and blitz packages as today's defenses are?

Bills interviewing Raiders WR coach Edgar Bennett for OC
CincyBillsFan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
More impressively he actually got production out of Zay Jones. -
This would explain Tee Martin as his time with the Ravens involved a lot of off schedule pass plays.

I think Payton was referring to funneling the ball to the middle with defenders there!- 154 replies

Interesting stat: Allen is now the number one ranked playoff QB in NFL history edging out number 2 Mahomes.
