How did Allen not dominate in college?
CincyBillsFan replied to C.Biscuit97's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bingo. I read that the only football camp Allen attended was at Fresno State and they put him with the kids they weren't interested in. Apparently Allen did not attend any elite QB camps or training practices. He was a raw talent coming out of HS and it was only after NFL level experts began to evaluate his tool set that they realized he could be elite. I clearly remember watching Allen play a number of times on the late night espn college broadcasts. I remember thinking that the kid was phenomenal and he did things NO other QB in college football was doing. I thought that the Bills should take a flyer on the guy and grab him in the 3rd or 4th round. Then a couple of months later I'm reading that he was a potentially high 1st round pick! I can truly say that I was thrilled when the Bills drafted Allen. -
Yep. Remember the bomb he threw that Foster lost in the sun and it went right through his hands? That would have been an 80 yard TD pass.
-
I suspect Allen remembers just how bad he played in that game. And Allen has a lot of Thurman in him when it comes to such things. It's going to be a tough night for the Packers in a couple of weeks.

Ken Dorsey is really really good
CincyBillsFan replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
Dorsey has eliminated any concerns the departure of DaBold raised. His game planning & play calling have been quite good. I also suspect that Joe Brady has contributed to this as well particularly in the passing game design. The good news is that after Dorsey leaves to take a head coaching job Brady will step in as OC. -
I suspect his answer would be "Allen".

So what's the over/under for penalties called on the Raiders to balance out that roughing the passer call?
-
He had the football in his hands. How do you suggest he avoid landing on Carr while maintaining possession of the ball? Levitate using telekinesis?
-
The problem with your reasoning is that Jones had the football in his hand. The only way he could soften the blow and not land full weight on Carr was to drop the ball and spread his arms out. Last time I checked that would have been a fumble by Jones. The refs should have huddled and once it was known that Jones had the ball in his hand waved off the flag.
-
Which only compounds the problem. The refs are bad and getting worse.
-
Keep it up KC fans. Boo this sorry excuse for a refereeing crew the entire 2nd half. These scum bags are going to kill the game of football. The NFL and he refs need to fix this NOW.
-
For whom? Baker or the coach?
-
It's way to early. Last year the Bills beat down the Chiefs who were reeling. Fast forward to the playoffs and KC has home field advantage. Say the Bills lose to the Chiefs. That makes us 4 - 2 going into the bye having played 5 teams with either winning records or at minimum are 500 (Chiefs, Titans, Rams, Dolphins & Ravens). Four of those six games will have been played on the road. And throughout this time the Bills have been hit with all sorts of injuries to key players. If we remain relatively healthy after the bye a 9 - 2 or even 10 - 1 run seems probable to me.

Agree 100%. What we saw yesterday was by design. And even if Pitt makes those FG's they score less then 10 points.
-
When you watch the replay Allen steps up in the pocket for the throw right into the face of a Steeler LB and takes a big lick as the ball leaves his hand. That the threw that pass 45 yards INTO THE WIND on target was amazing.
-
Do we know he's out for the Steelers game yet?
-
Give McD time.

I agree that the Steelers are very well coached. I would dispute that Tomlin and his coaches are much better then the Bills coaches.

NFL WEEK #4 - Bills at Ravens - Post Game Thread

And the refs missed an obvious roughing the passer call on the Bills 2nd drive that ended in a FG. -

At least 5 or 6 and probably more. As for Allen's stats - who cares - the only stat that mattered was the W and Allen was a key reason that the Bills gutted this win out. -
I disagree. In 2020 the Bills did very well in one score games and in 2021 they did not. That's a direct comparison over the last 2 seasons - hardly ancient history. As far as this season goes, one game is hardly going to tell us how the Bills will do in one score games in 2022. Get back to me at the end of this season and if the Bills are 1 - 5 in one score games then you'll have enough data to support your concern.
