Matt Barkley Will Be the Bills' Starter vs. the NYJ
Kevin1778 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If he wasn't capable he wouldn't be here. It isn't his fault the coach thinks a 5th round guy in his second year, with no offensive line, should be a starting quarterback. This guy is a young QB making nothing. He has shown at times like in Houston he can play. -

It isn't a roster spot unless one of your other two quarterbacks get hurt. He is there for games like the Patriots when a guy like Anderson goes down with 2 minutes to play. Remember, Allen is the quarterback, not Peterman. Anderson is Allen's backup, not Peterman. Peterman is the 3rd quarterback. Many teams don't even carry one. The Bills have to because their line can't protect the quarterback. Guys like Barkley don't go to the practice squad, guys like Peterman do. -

Wrong. His play on the field says he is a guy who is capable of coming in for a few plays in emergencies, and you get to pay him nothing, which allows you to play your top players. The third quarterback, getting paid the league minimum, is not supposed to be starting games. Only an idiot like McDermott does that. He is there to put on the practice squad and bring up a few times a year. -

I am for starting Peterman until Allen is healthy. Then keeping him on the practice squad if Allen gets hurt again and then pulling him up in an emergency. I won't be shocked if Peterman plays Sunday even if Barkley starts. Barkley will be injured by halftime. Keeping Peterman was fine. He makes no money and is a perfect backup who is supposed to only play in emergencies. He should have been the #3 QB like he was supposed to be. They had a veteran and he should have played until Allen was ready. With this line they need 3 quarterbacks. QB3 has to be one of these league minimum guys like Peterman and they only play in emergencies. -

McDermott and Beane do not do anything that makes sense. They have a line that can't protect the quarterback and go out and sign Matt Barkley, who was cut because he couldn't stay healthy. -

Of course he will get hurt. They all get hurt. They can't protect the QB. This coach is clueless. -

Because the starter is coming back this week or next week. If he gets hurt again you better just put a young guy in there that has proven he can stay on the field. Barkley was cut this year because he has an injured knee. Barkley won't last a quarter behind this line. -

McDermott really is an idiot if he starts Barkley. It is Allen or Peterman. If healthy, Allen plays. If not, Peterman plays. If Peterman plays terribly cut him next week and keep Barkley. If he plays adequately he stays on until end of season and only plays if Allen is hurt. Anderson should NEVER step on field again. He is here to mentor Allen. Not get hurt. If Allen gets hurt again just play Peterman. This idiot coach is going to start 4 QB's in 10 games. Maybe the quarterbacks aren't the problem. -
Anyone know this Bilal Chaudry that is raising money on Go Fund Me to get rid of Peterman? This loser is beginning to get national attention and it has the potential to raise some actual money. Bills fans can't allow this guy to raise money for himself, because we all know it isn't going to Peterman. Someone needs to make sure the Bill's Mafia leadership, who promotr fundraisers for various great causes, looks into this guy. Can't allow some con artist to not only embarrass the Bills but enrich himself.

Peterman actually played quite well!

The comment was moronic. Didn't call anyone a name. -

There are 32 backup quarterbacks in the NFL. Maybe 3 or 4 of them are good quarterbacks. And those 3 or 4 would look awful behind this line and with these receivers. -

Backups usually play 1 or 2 games a year if that. If you want to win you need a franchise QB. Brady, Mahomes, Brees, Rivers, all play virtually every snap all year long. The Bills future depends on their top 10 draft pick, not the 5th rounder making the league minimum. Peterman's job is supposed to be to hold a clip board. Not start 16 games. -

He is right. 1) Bears have top 5 defense. 2) Peterman has only started 4 games. 3) His stats were in line with a long time veteran like Anderson in his two games. 4) His line and receivers did not show up. 5) There was no running game. Is Peterman an NFL starting QB. No. Is he a more than adequate backup. Absolutely.- 192 replies

Stats for 3 Bills Quartebacks. Need a Quarterbacks coach.
Kevin1778 replied to Kevin1778's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why is a guy with 20 years as a receivers coach and no years as a quarterbacks coach the guy teaching Allen? They couldn't get him an actual quarterbacks coach? -
Why is Dave Culley, a former receivers coach, with no experience as a QB coach, coaching the Bills quarterbacks. Could they not find an actual quarterback coach? Combined 18 Turnovers. 3 Passing TD's. 4 Rushing TD's. ALLEN 5 Touchdowns 6 Turnovers 54% Completions 832 yards Passing 155 yards Rushing PETERMAN 2 Touchdowns 7 Turnovers 55% Completions 297 yards Passing 49 yards Rushing ANDERSON 0 Touchdowns 6 Turnovers 60% Completions 465 yards Passing -1 yards Rushing

Peterman might start against the Jets this week - McDermott
Kevin1778 replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly. Peterman should start against Jets. Then after bye you have healthy Allen and Anderson as backup. If Peterman is awful against Jets just cut him and move him to practice squad and bring him up only if Allen or Anderson are injured. In offseason find Allen a real backup and go from there. This is just what a rational team would do. You almost have to keep Peterman because line is so bad and you might need a warm body at QB late in season. Or they have no healthy quarterbacks. The QB situation is fine. They have Allen and Anderson as his backup. Peterman is doing a good job as third string quarterback. People act like Allen and Anderson were good or something. Peterman has only passing TD in 6 games.
