  1. Not sure you can blame the first coin toss (or even the second in OT) for the loss. But nice work with the stats, very interesting. This is going to be a stretch but is there any correlation with increased points scored or wins? Seems like there should be with extra possessions. Would be cool to see how much of an advantage winning the coin toss could be (theoretically of course).
  2. Allen outplayed Mahomes no question. There's nothing more he needs to do, or can do for that matter - he was let down by the so called #1 defense and bonehead coaching moves.
  3. I vividly remember a few plays where our D-Line didnt even rush. They just stood there and barely moved. Literally could not believe my eyes. Someone is going to argue that they were gassed but isnt the point of the d-line rotation to keep guys fresh? Overall, thought the gameplan was atrocious. Daboll locked up a job, Frazier probably lost his.
  4. These wont even be surprises. If all 3 arent gone our FO has lost it.
  5. That was pathetic last night. Thought his play-calling was suspect at best. Couldnt even get his team prepared for a playoff game.
  6. So you're the reason we lost Tre... I suspected someone's superstition was the cause of his demise
  7. Agree with most of this. We need to get away from looking purely at stats and include context - garbage time stats is a great example of how yards could be skewed. Another example is how Josh threw 3 picks last week and everyone is saying how careless he is with the ball. One of the announcers yesterday actually added that 2 of those balls were tipped - granted, Josh takes some of the blame, but it was just 2 bad bounces. You could even look at Jameis Winston 2 years ago when he threw for over 5,000 yards and 30td but had 30 picks with most of his good stats coming in garbage time. With that said, we didn't have really any garbage time games where numbers were inflated so you really have to recognize Josh is doing something special. 10,000 yards and 80 td's in 2 seasons truly is great. Offense is definitely struggling. But again, even with our struggles, we're putting up 25+ points. Regardless of how bad the opposing defense is, that's a positive. I'm hoping Daboll was calling it conservative today - no designed JA runs or Mackenzie sweeps that have been implemented in the past few weeks. Things will open up this week in the playoffs.
  8. Gotta beat the best to be the best. NE was high on my list to play in the playoffs. Would love nothing more than beating the pats and belichick in the playoffs.
  9. Are we better this year than last year in the RZ as a whole (including field goals)? or is that just TD %?
  10. I think play calling is the biggest issue down there. Daboll likes to call plays that need space to develop and there just isn't enough of it down there with so many guys within striking distance of making a tackle. It's almost like he ignores the situation and calls what he wants to call (similar to when Josh hurt his foot against Tampa on a scramble and a few plays later he's calling another designed run). I'm sure they practice RZ scenarios but the entire offense, including Daboll, seem to panic when we get down there.
  11. Can't disagree more. Allen started his career on the most inept team possible. Zero weapons, zero protection and a coaching staff that didn't know how to use him yet. He was set up to fail and somehow, bills fans were able to see he had it. The guy has improved dramatically and literally wills his teams to wins. Had better numbers coming in second place in MVP voting last year than Lamar did 2 years ago - take away Rodger's amazing season and he already has an MVP. The so called "experts" in the league and not experts - they're glorified statisticians. After Allen's first 2 years, every "expert" was saying how Allen was still going to bust because they saw a low completion %. Anyone who watched him play knew he was something special and just needed a little more time and maybe some actual receivers. Allen is absolutely worth the money. While this season is slightly down from last season, you can't argue he's not producing at an elite level. If we waited to give him a contract, he'd probably command even more because he's proven last season wasnt a fluke.
  12. Would love it. He's got such a cushy job though. No doubt he works hard but makes his own hours and not a lot of pressure. Cant say I'd move on from that.
  13. Dont think he'd move laterally. He's in line to take over as OC if/when Daboll leaves so they'd have to offer him OC of the Bears in which case i would be very upset.
  14. Pats will definitely throw more but I want McD/Fraizer to at least practice a run stopping package so theyre not completely unprepared like last time. Maybe not to the extent of the monster defense but I definitely wouldnt mind 4 DL and 3 LB's with Klein in there.
  15. Yup. There are plenty of nonprofits that actually make money. They're classified as "nonprofit" because their end goal isnt to make money, it's to provide resources for others with the money made. And then you have examples like the NFL, which up until a few years ago was a nonprofit and didn't get taxed. Don't get me wrong, they do a lot of good stuff, but their goal is definitely to make money for the owners.
  16. Agreed. He's not going to steamroll anyone but the fight he puts into every run is exactly what this team needs.
  17. Play calling is the biggest issue. Daboll crumbles when he has to call plays inside the 20's - his offense relies on space and there isnt any down there. Sure, JA has missed some open guys but Daboll isnt putting his guys in positions to succeed.
  18. Our coaches don't have schemes that account for the bad weather. Daboll's offense has no balance - if weather isnt a factor (and it really wasn't last year) then go ahead and do what you want. His inability to adjust for the elements is our downfall. Same with Fraizer - the fact that we werent prepared to run a heavy defense to stop the pats when every fan knew the weather was going to be horrendous a week before the game shows how out of touch he is.
  19. I like to think so and then I remember how bad our lines are. The Giants had a dominant d-line. We don't. As good as Josh is, he alone can't carry us to a superbowl.
  20. Exactly. If every call was made correctly, the NFL loses it's ability to control the flow of the game. For example, if the NFL wants more scoring, they can change some rules in the offseason or just tell refs to swallow the whistle when it comes to holding and make an immediate impact. Could even be as extreme as favoring certain teams in close games that would allow better playoff matchups in terms of ratings.
  21. I dont necessarily agree with that. I used to think RB's were only as good as their line but look at Najee Harris. He's still productive and Pitt's line is just as bad as ours.
  22. Given what's on film, he literally looks for blockers to engage with. And it's not just a here or there thing, it's every game. You're right in the sense that he's not instinctive at all but Fraizer should be able to coach him up enough to try and avoid blockers instead of running into them head on. Just look at Fournette's long TD run.
  23. I think you're right by saying Frazier wants him to play like this. Time after time Edmunds finds a gap and immediately engages the nearest blocker instead of attacking the ball carrier. It's like he's taught to take on blockers to free up the secondary to make a tackle.
  24. Went to the Halloween game. Was surprised at how little they looked at everything. Aside from flashing your vaccine card/whatever pass you have, everything else was pre-pandemic.
  25. Star needs to play. Haven't heard anything about his status yet
