  1. anyone see the episode of Real Sports on HBO where they talked about NFl players and guns?...most players carry guns now to protect themselves...a lot are scared about what happened to the players who were killed, shotup , lost limbs, and assaulted in just the past year...add to the fact that most grew up in really bad areas and still have family that live in those areas...its easy to say "dont go there" when they now have money and can move there parents and siblings to wherever, but you cant expect them to move there whole families everywhere they go...at some point if these players want to see there families, they are going to have to go back to where they grew up...as for not haveing a permit for the guns, thats just stupid, but I dont know Lynch's history and something might have happened that would not alow him to have a permit...I assume a lot of the NFL players have some kind of a "checkered past"...so there are probably a lot of players carrying without permits...I suggest finding the episode from Real Sports and watching it...its very insightful on how some of these players feel about guns....personally I dont think much will happen to Lynch about this...those of you who think Buffalo will cut him for it are just loopy...carrying a gun in the NFL is just a common thing now...as one player stated in Real Sports..he says that people tell him that the team has security, yes, but they dont fallow him to his car in the parkinglots or to his home or to the resturaunt he eats at...outside of the stadium hes on his own in this world
  2. well from what I understand...they dont have much cap room...so for them to get rid of 2 high priced rookies for just 1 might be a bargain...only problem is that there wont be a rookie QB worth moving up to our spot to get...both stafford and sanchez are mocked to go in top 3...however..the Jets may still try to do this trade with the Rams...but I highly doubt the Rams want to go from pick 2 to 17 and lose out on Crabtree...plus at 17 the Jets have a shot at taking Josh Freeman, QB, Kansas State...they also have a shot in the 2nd round to grab Nate Davis, QB, Ball State...so most likely it wont happen.
  3. I know the trade stated that NY could not re-trade Favre to any team in Packers division....is there anything written anywhere that after 1 season and he reitres that he couldnt go to the Vikings?...Im pretty sure he'll be wearing a Vikings jersey next season...I dont think he ever intended to stay in NY...his plan was to get traded and then retire and then come back to the Vikings...
  4. truth is is that there really isnt any QB out there that really gives you that feeling of they could be the next franchise starter on any team...its a really crappy year for haveing to find a backup capable of comeing in and starting if needed...most of these guys look like career backups on teams with a legit starter and some look like career 3rd string QB's...all we can do is hope that Buffalo brings in someone that can fill in for 2 - 4 games per year and not kill us to badly...the talent at the QB position just isnt there like it was in the 90's
  5. how many teams would actualy fit that scenario that needs a QB?....Earlier I mentioned I could see Leftwich going to Chicago...They definatly could use his services, but are they a team that could go to superbowl, most definatly...so lets go by division and see who could use his services: AFC East - only team I can see here that he could go to is the Jets...If Favre decides to retire , the Jets will need a replacement..I could see them starting Leftwich and grooming a rookie AFC North - no teams would need him as a starter AFC South - again I dont see ay teams that need him as a starter AFC West - Kansas City could pick him up as a starter to groom Thigpen, but I dont see that happening..They currently have 4 QB's on the roster with Damon Huard and Brodie Croyle to help Thigpen..also a lot of mocks have KC taking Sanchez in the draft this year...KC would have to cut 3 of there QB's loose and keep Thigpen and grab Leftwich to Groom Sanchez...If they did this you can add Croyle and Huard to the list of available QB's...Another reason I dont see this is because Leftwich wants a contending team and KC would not be that for atleast a few years. NFC East - no teams that I can see..I think only one that could fit would be Washington, but I think they are happy with Campbell NFC North - now heres a division that needs QB's...if Favre decided to retire, the Vikings will have a new QB next season with Favre...otherwise they could use Leftwich as well...The Bears I've allready stated could use him...Packers are set and the Lions are not a contending team NFC South - Tampa is the only team I see here...If Garcia walks, Leftwich could start here NFC West - Hmm..Cardinals have Warner, but they might not next season...I wonder if Leftwich would start over Leinhart...49er's could really use a real QB as well, but they are not contenders...The Rams could use him, but thats the same boat as going to Lions or KC... so thats as I see it, and I'm no football guru
  6. heres a list of 2009's free agent QB's: Quarterback: Patrick Ramsey, UFA, Denver Broncos Kerry Collins, UFA, Tennessee Titans Charlie Batch, UFA, Pittsburgh Steelers Kyle Boller, UFA, Baltimore Ravens Matt Cassel, UFA, New England Patriots Rex Grossman, UFA, Chicago Bears Byron Leftwich, UFA, Pittsburgh Steelers J.P. Losman, UFA, Buffalo Bills Kurt Warner, UFA, Arizona Cardinals Jeff Garcia, UFA, Tampa Bay Buccaneers Charlie Frye UFA Seattle Seahawks Brooks Bollinger UFA Dallas Cowboys Chris Simms UFA Tennessee Titans J.T. O’Sullivan UFA San Francisco 49ers Matt Gutierrez UFA New England Patriots Gibran Hamdan UFA Buffalo Bills Luke McCown UFA Tampa Bay Buccaneers Brock Berlin RFA St Louis Rams Shane Boyd RFA Houston Texans I believe Leftwich goes to Chicago...Cassel obviously is off the board...I read that the Chicago is actually going to keep Grossman, but obviously if they grab Leftwich he wont be retained...Garcia most likely stays in Tampa now that Gruden is gone...I see Collins staying in Tenn. atleast 1 more season and then Simms might step in...Warner will most likely stay in Arizona... Im going to go with Boller...he has a lot of start time under his belt and obviously Flacco is the man in Raventown now...Ive always liked Ramsey but I dont think he has enough talent to go in for an injured trent...I wouldnt mind Simms either...but Ill go with Boller
  7. Im not going to be like everyone else and say its "not" going to happen, but I will say it most likely wont happen....anything can happen in the NFL...as Chris B. says " Buffalo usualy brings in 2 big name FA a year..I wouldnt be surprised to see 2 this year"(not an official quote)...if thats correct and it does happen..I could see Haynseworth and Birk as those 2 big names and thos 2 big names would be huge for our lines...
  8. com'on ppl..its skooby...u cant believe anything he says..hes to busy poseing for pics and driving better cars than any of us..I mean really
  9. inside sources...we really need some better ones..why?..because none of the ones weve heard from so far have been right...
  10. ok nvm..I see what your saying..I never played JMT...I went straight from STB to Madden..I was a nintendo player...I believe ( like I stated above) that JMT was a sega only game.
  11. I second this comment wait...are you talking about video games?...Im 35 so I was arround for Tecmo Bowl (and yes this game was awsome)...and I seem to recall a game with Montana....I wanna say it was for the Sega system...ok so if ur talking video games..what about these games are u talking about...you lost me...lol
  12. well then hes like the only one in the sports business that doesnt...but any way you put it, Buffalo should get a good C in this draft with C being so stacked this draft
  13. not that Im saying I know better than him, but hes missing a few players from what I can see..wheres: C - Antoine Caldwell, Alabama ... TE - Jared Cook, South Carolina ...TE - Chase Coffman, Missouri
  14. so what??..this crap about how much each player costs is crap and something us fans shouldnt need to worry about...money paid to players is a FO worry not mine...I want to keep players that can play and stop getting rid of them.
  15. didnt they have Don Beebe also?...however its spelled
  16. not bad...but I like the idea of tradeing our #11 for Detroits #20 and 2nd round pick better...this would be doable seeings this would alow Detroit to grab one of the top OT's at #11...plus Buffalo has some good ties with Detroit so it could more possable to be done...Buffalo could get Larry English, DE, Northern Illinois ..Tyson Jackson, DE, LSU or Michael Johnson, DE, Georgia Tech at #20..grab Chase Coffman, TE, Missouri with 1st pick in round 2 and grab Antoine Caldwell, C, Alabama with Buffalos 2nd round pick...leaving round 3 for Clay Matthews, OLB, USC...of course this is going by your mock...some mocks have Detroit taking B. Cushings in the second wich could be our pick with this scenario..plus any of the top DE's could fall to us at #20 except Orakpo and Brown of course. 1- DE - Larry English / Tyson Jackson / Michael Johnson 2a- TE - Chase Coffman 2b- C - Antoine Caldwell 3- OLB - Clay Matthews
  17. Well it is a possability they might like to trade Parrish..but it might be they arent very happy with Jenkins...I wouldnt be surprised to see depth show: Evans, Reed, Johnson, Hardy..then 2 of these 3 depending on what happens...Parrish, Sam, Jenkins...yea ok no brainer right...biggest thing im saying there is the order of the top 4 WR's and then secondly Im saying Parrish could be traded and thirdly Im saying Jenkins is cut and Sam takes his place..then again Sam might just be camp fodder like Skooby says...but who the hell trusts whats Skooby has to say anyways
  18. wheres CP when you need him?
  19. I wouldn't say he'll be cut until we know what his cap hit would be...obviously he makes a lot of money, and a lot of money could be lost by just cutting him...out of our best 3 DE's I would think the cut order would go : Kelsay, Denney, Schobel...per performance, but that might be different if you look at it per money paid...If Buffalo brings in only 1 new DE I'll say none of the 3 gets cut this year..If they bring in multiple "good" DE's then its possable 1 gets cut this year...Also on the possable cut list is Ellis...we havent seen anything from him in his rookie year at all..maybe a few plays...its possable that Buffalo drafts DE in 1st or 2nd round and dumps Ellis and keep Kelsay, Denney and Schobel..main point is at this point of the offseason we cant determin what Buffalo is going to do...we need to wait for FA and the draft..but its still fun to speculate
  20. personally I think the Bills will be fine going: Evans, Reed, Johnson..then throw in Parrish...Hardy will get back into the mix around game 4 or so maybe...really only need 3 WR's or 4 to play at any given time...especially when u add Lynch and Jackson as possible receiving targets and then add in TE Fine and any new TE we grab this offseason...I don't see Buffalo going with any 4 WR set so they'll be fine till Hardy is ready...only reason I would get a WR in the draft would be to replace Jenkins or Parrish...and they really don't have the luxury of doing that in this years draft...yet...gotta see what they do in FA still...on the Parrish part tho...Id rather see Bills either keep him for his punt return skills or trade him b4 they just let him go in FA( whatever year that is hes a FA)
  21. well excuse me mr.perfect speller....all i was saying is don't tell me I'm being stupid for trying to figure out who Buffalo has a real shot at..I didn't know Baltimore's numbers...this post was more of what I was looking for to say why Buffalo actually would have a chance at Brown...your other post was just BS banter trying to make yourself look more important.
  22. wait a minute..you mean they guy who came up with the dream offseason thread where you have rediculouse scenarios is telling me I cant be realistic and think about who Buffalo can and cant get...the reality is that as of right now both Birk and Brown are free agents...unlike your dreams, I look at whats real...I'm not a downer..I'm trying to see who Buffalo cnan actually go after...if you want to sit at home dreaming thats ur choice
  23. ok just to add...I also took a look at Vickings roster...seems they have John Sullivan rookie center to replace Birk...so I guess Birk would have to be the center Buffalo could actually get with the right money...he just played his 11'th season... a 2 year deal for Birk and drafting any of these 5 centers in April: Mack, Luigs, Unger, Cantwell, Woods seems the best scenario for Buffalo to me...I just cant see Baltimore letting Brown go.
  24. Ive seen a few ppl saying Brown would be a great choice for Bills to go after in FA...well along with Birk...I'm wondering if anyone has any info on the Ravens which would say why they would let they're only center go in FA...I looked at there roster and Brown is listed as there only center...I see like 4 guards listed, is any of these guards a center as well?...I just cant see why Baltimore would let Brown get away if hes so good and especially since I don't see any other centers on the team roster...so saying this, is Brown really a pipe dream and someone the Bills really have no hope of getting?
