  1. 5-2 IS a mirage. No one disputes that . no one with a brain believes right now it is a top 5 , even top 10 team . no way. These guys are maybe halfway through the rebuild. They have a foundation of solid, good character new talent, (including coaches), now they are going to work to get better. They are at the stage where they can beat the bottom half of the league any given Sunday, but not good enough to beat the top third. Makes perfect sense to me. It's pretty well established that NFL teams don't have the time to make big scheme and tactics changes from week to week in-season. You pretty much are what you are once your into the guts of the season. Bye weeks and offseason is where you make meaningful changes, scheme and roster. This thing is going to take time and diligence. I am sure coaches will change in the off season if they didn't get it done this year. they are definately trending up compared to last year. That is what you want this season , next season and the season after that. no flash in the pan, just steady progress and sticking to their plan. they are building a program, not just a roster. they have one of the younger teams in the league when you factor out gore and zo. rex and those before him spent years screwing it up, may take years to fix it
  2. oh stop. Allen's played what, 16 games or so? Edmunds is what, 21? I peg this rebuild at a full 3 years. This is year 2, Allen's 2nd. This team was hot garbage 12 months ago. I'll take 6-2 at mid season. Wouldn't you?
  3. well, they threw him into the fire (been starting since he showed up), they are giving him weapons (complete replacement of every offensive skill position since last season), and they are seeing what they have (Josh is still raw as hell but learning fast, as everyone expected) . offense won't be as good this year as it will be next year, Josh is still a work in progress. What the h-ll did you expect, 15-1 this season? you were all ready to fire everyone last year at this time. Looks like excellent progress since then. yes I am happy. this team is a helluva lot better prepared to win than it was last year at this time. Man, lose a game and everyone on this board wants to blow it all up. You people are all Crazy . They'll be 6-2 at the halfway mark .. all good. Hopefully they'll grab another WR before the trade deadline, who knows. Josh is still so raw, so not sure it matters. To me, the Philly game proves that this is not the "breakout" year. The roster is just not there yet. and Allen is way too raw, making too many mistakes in his own end. coaches still figuring out what he can and can't do. The process continues. Trust it. McBeanes know what they are doing and what they are building. Watch it happen.
  4. Yeah, my fear was this team is not ready as they cannot score enough points yet. It's a process. The offense is better than last year for sure. Beane will continue to improve the roster and McD will continue to coach them up. At this time last year we wanted to fire them all. So, see, things are better! That Allen fumble on the short field was inexcusable there in the second quarter. Daboll will learn from that. I;ll bet you never see that play called on our side of the 50 again. Everyone is learning. non conference loss. no big deal. Trust the Process.
  5. as I've said many times, this is probably not the year. they look good. the process is working. they aren't ready for the top 10 teams yet... It's ok. sucks that they do it on the national game tho. always seems to be the way
  6. the all white with the standing bison is still the best, but all one color is OK. blue moreso than red, but red is my favorite color, so liked that too. If it were me , I'd alternate the all whites (standing bison), all blues and all reds. guess I like color
  7. once they start beating good teams, then the national TV media (not print or online) will start taking shots at the weather, piles of snow on the sidelines, the rust belt stuff, the only-been-to-the-playoffs-once-in forever, etc. The national TV media's playbook stock narrative on WNY was written 42 years ago with the handling of the "77 Blizzard.. It's not going to change anytime soon. trust the process. forget the TV media. they are looking for ratings and those come from the big markets; to the TV media, Bills/WNY are a sideshow of oddities and contradictions that they hope viewers will find "curious".
  8. yeah but what if Daboll is calling all the plays into Josh's headset at the line? what exact progress is Josh making if he's just a puppet on a string like Goff was???
  9. so when the playclock is down to 15 the headsets have to be turned off... thanks.. i'll pay much closer attention inside and outside of that mark ... "Omaha" means a lot more to me now...
  10. Wow, so McVay was changing the play in Goff's headset at the line? Wow, didn't know Goff was a total robot. So McVay maybe ruined him by not allowing him to learn from mistakes, not allowing him to checkdown, etc. based on what the defense did? McVay simply changed the play at the line based on the defense McVay saw and Goff just obeyed? That kind of control? Wow... Maybe that is why young QBs seem to be running around a little lost if the original read isn't there? did not know the headset is not on all the time.. never knew it cuts off at a certain time in the pre play. Does anyone know what the headset turn off timing is?? That would be super good to know when watching the play clock wind down. Interesting. Thanks OP. Does Daboll do this with Allen? I hope not. If he's just a puppet on a string, how much and by when will he really learn to do on this own?
  11. John Brown is a beast. My son and his college roommates were big Cards followers during the Carson Palmer greatest show on earth years (brown, boldin, Fitz ) and turned me on to him. He was injured a bit, but when healthy was the only guy I ever saw who could chase down Palmers long ball. We will see, but hopefully he will still be fast when Josh's brain catches up to his longball.
  12. A run this year? Nah, don't think so. Jets, Phins and Titans all had them beat. Mariota had his foot a foot over the line or that game is lost. Jets def holding saves the Bills in that one, and Fitzy is Fitzy at the goal to screw up 21-9. Trust the process, these guys are not as good as the record. Now the schedule looks favorable, no doubt, but that would be the only reason they "make a run". Keep your high draft choices Beane, you are an excellent drafter of talent. That is the only way a roster in WNY can be built for the long term. Pats are trying to win a Super Bowl. We are just working to get back to the tournament this year.
  13. Not sure this is the year, bc the offense has a ways to go....McBeanes need another offseason to keep building the offensive roster talent... getting there. Isaiah Mckenzie is not an NFL player and neither was Zay Jones.. Gore, Brown, Beasley and Kroft are NFL players. Singletary, Foster, Duke and the rookie TEs might be, can't tell yet. Kroft needs to get going. Lotta very raw young guys runnin around out there in the offensive skill positions (including the QB) which means things will come and go They are getting there. Can only do so much in one offseason. Plus Allen needs to mature, and he is. I can see the top 10 teams holding them to under 15 points without too much trouble. Allen just isn't there. He's still running around a lot thinking about the long ball.. he'll be ok.. just needs some time, so does Singletary
  14. We'll see. Phins go up 21-9 , not sure Bills make it back. They were close to losing to the Jets and the Bengals. Things breaking right for this bunch. no complaints, but lets just keep winning. They beat the Eagles, people will start taking notice. Probably not until then. Maybe this is the year they go far, simply bc the AFC is beat up or rebuilding. Could be 6 10 win teams in the NFC.
  15. McBeanes lookin good yet again Trust the Process
  16. plus they get a nice locker room cancer Bills fans need to be thankful they have McBeanes. they wouldn't go near that guy
  17. This is Great! thanks! Anyone remember ice filled cases of OV Splits handed over the bar at Brunners on a Thursday night? I do ( i think i can remember that far back)...
  18. Wife and I in town this weekend to visit 90- something moms. Prob can't get away to sit in my old seats at the Ralph, but prob could get out to a saloon to watch. Any suggestions of new places to watch? thanks. 8&8 Forever (AKA, ProcessTruster)
  19. Trust the Process, but the OP makes a point. Go win some games, things might fall into place this year. Way too early to tell. Keep the popcorn popping. Go bills. Will be in town this weekend to visit two ailing moms (mine and my wifes) . What is the best WNY bar to watch the game now , get some wings, you know, the usual?
  20. in the NFL ,as long as you stay clean and don't become antonio brown, if you can play you can play, so he will get his shot. Gotta love a big WR with great hands. we shall see
  21. Rex is such an opportunist and self promoter. Gotta hand it to him. He makes a fortune at it.
  22. relax. It'll be next year, after another draft and FA period, and after Allen's second year, before the offense catches up to the defense in terms of talent and effectiveness. Still have questions on the O Line and WR, and Allen is obviously still pretty raw. For McBeanes, this is all just a process of roster upgrade after roster upgrade. Will take a full 3 years. This is year 3. Next year is the year, IMHO. This year, just get to 10 wins and get in the tournament again. they ain't winnin' anything this year. at this time last year, you all wanted to fire the whole lot of them.. keep your pants on Trust the Process.
