  1. heartbreaking,... really.. A few more years of playoff purgatory for the Pats, please and thank you
  2. this is a bad idea for countless reasons this is a bad idea for countless reasons, many of which have already been stated. trust the process, McBeanes will bring you your precious SB , but only in the context of ongoing quality, productivity and winning on the field. this is a bad idea for countless reasons, many of which have already been stated. trust the process, McBeanes will bring you your precious SB , but only in the context of ongoing quality, productivity and winning on the field. this is a bad idea for countless reasons, many of which have already been stated. trust the process, McBeanes will bring you your precious SB , but only in the context of ongoing quality, productivity and winning on the field. this is a bad idea for countless reasons, many of which have already been stated. trust the process, McBeanes will bring you your precious SB , but only in the context of ongoing quality, productivity and winning on the field. this is a bad idea for countless reasons, many of which have already been stated. trust the process, McBeanes will bring you your precious SB , but only in the context of ongoing quality, productivity and winning on the field. this is a bad idea for countless reasons, many of which have already been stated. trust the process, McBeanes will bring you your precious SB , but only in the context of ongoing quality, productivity and winning on the field. this is a bad idea for countless reasons, many of which have already been stated. trust the process, McBeanes will bring you your precious SB , but only in the context of ongoing quality, productivity and winning on the field. this is a bad idea for countless reasons, many of which have already been stated. trust the process, McBeanes will bring you your precious SB , but only in the context of ongoing quality, productivity and winning on the field.
  3. but this D does lead in turnovers, thats the point. its a point of emphasis, not just "hope we get some" ; its a way of playing. One turnover is worth 2 punts. Protect the ball on offense, turn them over on defense. Its not luck, its a strategy, an approach. Fanbase needs to get over "Chris Jones" syndrome. there are like 5 guys of that type in the entire league (Vea, Simmons, a couple others) and that is it and they are locked up. Sure Beane will go back to the draft to get one, but drafting in the 30's ain't getting that done. What the Bills do is an alternative to having a Chris Jones and it is working.
  4. Typically, agents of top RBs at this stage of their rookie deal have them hold out for a new contract. Don't come to OTAs, the whole bit. Expect Cook to do that in the spring.
  5. i think we've kind of worn out this topic. They're playing the attacking, penetrating style of defense that fits the personnel they have and the offense they have. Is what it is. I'd rather this than Reggie Ragland three steps behind RBs and Kelce every down. You need to make a choice. As long as Josh lights 'em up on offense (and 9 out of 10 times he does) , this D scheme works just fine.
  6. Dorian will not be playing MLB, he never has. I believe the depth chart is Spector then Buffalo Joe, maybe Morrow? This could end up being a problem.
  7. yeah me too. whoopee no flag football
  8. this guy has more money than g-d, who gives a crap if he puts another 1.5 on top of it
  9. I am betting Josh goes superman this tournament season and gets the Bills through the NFL tournament. But a bunch of uncontrollable ***** could happen in one game (Josh gets hurt, LBs go down one by one, refs sh-t the bed, Bass loses his mind) and we're out. Who knows in a single elimination tournament. Complete crapshoot.
  10. Other than Bosa, Bosa, Watt, Hendrickson, and a couple others who are locked up, those guys don't exist. Beane shot the cap on Von and Tre and was rewarded for going off script and off cap with expensive, injured, probably washed $50m cap hits. So stop with the "we need Bosa" stuff, we have him but he's on offense. Lets go break the scoreboard and win that way. Works for me.
  11. They've done it (ie: built a dynasty). They have been winning 70% of their games for 5+ f ing years. Who else has done this? KC maybe I guess, but whatever. The Bills are "built to last"; McBeanes trust their process and it has paid off big time. Screw the ad-dollar-media dollar driven single eiimination "tournament" at the end of the year; if that's your only definition of success in the NFL, you must be a very sad person. Get on your hands and knees and be thankful these two guys showed up 7 years ago.
  12. yes they are. Beane and McDermott have built a fine organization and stuck to their process re: the type of players they want and have not wavered. Win or lose this playoff season. and: the rest of this board needs to do a better job of just enjoying this ride...
  13. Agreed. KC is back healthy and loaded. They will be an incredibly hard out in KC. But the Bills have done this before with a lesser roster.
  14. yep, that's what it is yep, that's what it is yep, that's what it is yep, that's what it is
  15. there you have it. Well put. As long as the roster is healthy and Josh and the O execute, the D will be fine playing their way, against anyone. I actually tend to go get food and drink when the defense is on the field, why be concerned? . The Offense is the show in this franchise and its not even close. And I fully expect the O to score (a lot) on anyone (as they have demonstrated for 4 months) , so we are good here. Not an issue. Go get the win, Bills.
  16. not terribly interested in major league single elimination tournaments, per se. Kind of a bullsh-t TV-ratings advertising game to boost audiences. the 5 month regular season is where the real work gets done, IMHO I see the "playoffs" as just an extension of the regular season. go compete and do whatever it takes to win the game. if you run out of games to win, yeah I guess they give you a trophy. not a big deal. After so so many years of suck, I guess I am still wallowing in the post - drought "Process-driven" week after week after week success. Go McBeanes. Keep us winning 3-4 out of 5 games like you have for the past 5 years. Lovin it
  17. I agree that the Bills depth was instrumental in them being a top 5 regular season team for the past several years, perhaps turning in the best regular season in the league. Having a top 5 QB is a huge factor as well. I am thoroughly enjoying the Bills beating the crap out of the rest of the league. "The Process" everyone on this board likes to sh-t on, ie, continual roster improvement 12 months a year with quality/high character guys has made it so. Beane and McD have made this happen, no one else. Unfortunately, the NFL is not like the Premier League where No. 1 in the regular season is No. 1, period. My point to the OP is that Depth doesn't mean much in the league/media-manufactured, single elimination tournament that is the NFL Playoffs. If you don't win the Super Bowl, so it goes, your season is a failure and your team and organization needs to "figure out what went wrong!" and change a bunch of sh-t. . What a bunch of BS. All kinds of random events can swing that one playoff game that you win or lose The real test of success in the NFL is how you come out of a 4+ month regular season playing 17 games. That test tells you who built the best organization and team , including the depth (as pointed out in the OP) needed to win when your starters are out. As Belichek always says, "you are what your record says you are" . He doesn't talk much about Super Bowl wins. He talks about preparation, winning, doing your job. The "process" that leads to winning, and yeah, maybe a couple tournament wins as well , to boot. The media asks "well, you didn't win the tournament, therefore something is wrong and needs to be fixed now!'. So many fans fall into this trap as well.
  18. These rankings don't mean much for the top 4-5 teams; any of them can come out on top of the other in a single 60 min game. Unfortunately in the media driven world, unless you win the season-ending tournament, the regular season doesn't mean much.
  19. plus you are starting over with an entirely new staff, new schemes and new players to fit those schemes. When you're 7 beers in, hard to think about that I guess.
  20. totally agreed. Terry has a personal situation I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. In fact, the last thing i want is Terry knee-jerking this stuff and screwing up the Bills as well. McBeanes have this thing on autopilot and Terry will let them run it. McBeanes have been and will always be a package deal, you get them both or you lose them both. Fan base needs to get over themselves. This team is killing it. Be happy people.
  21. pretty much. I am willing to go with that. we're in a better place than anyone predicted, so I am good. This entire board had this as a 're build' year with super low expectations. Now, its SB or fire the coach. Make up your minds, please. What a strange bunch.
  22. shocked I am. In WNY in mid-January? Impossible
