  1. yeah the rosters are way too small vs the preseason to treat it like a preseason game (like 30 less guys) . Some positions, yes, but all? No. Plus IMO they're not good enough yet on offense to further than the second round (which would be awesome, compared to where they were a year ago) so lets get out there and continue to work.
  2. the national media is still reading from the same sheets ; he's inaccurate, blah blah. once they write the book on you, it never changes. Just win games.
  3. correct. Bills aren't quite ready for top 5 football because they don't have all the pieces and experiences yet to score more than 25 points per game. Beane will get the new bodies they need and McD and BD will make all of the offense better. The NFL at the highest level is stacked towards and all about offensive football. Trust the Process of continually improving the offense. They are in no way finished. Play the starters Sunday. They need the work.
  4. yep. injuries kill seasons. Indy is prime example. I wonder what the Bills record would be this year if they had had a normal number of IR type injuries to starters?
  5. nah, not happening this year. but the process is paying off this year, instead of next year. always thought it would take 3 years minimum to recover from Rex/Whaley debacle and build a culture of disciplined cap management , solid drafting and locker room rebuilding. they did it in two years. they will simply continue and the results will improve. Now is not the time. They cannot score enough points to beat the top 5 teams. But the day will come as they will stick to their conceptual framework and continue to improve across the board. Wins and success will just "happen" as a by product of their process.
  6. I don't think he's much of a runner. Not terribly elusive, just a straight ahead runner. NFL safeties and LBs will eventually kill him and turn him over until they do. Good change of pace guy like the guy in Philly, not much more.
  7. Next year they finish their last drives against the Ravens and Pats. They still don't have the potency on either side of the ball. The offensive roster will be better. My guess is they continue to improve the roster on offense and defense and Josh will be one year better. The process of building a great locker room and competing every game is and will pay dividends. Hopefully McBeanes will stay the course, don't overspend for shiny objects, draft extremely well and coach better. The wins will be there if they do.
  8. This gets fixed in the offseason IMO via draft and free agency. Offense not scoring enough points for Bills to be a top 5 team. Not sure what they will bring in, but based on the history they will bring people in.
  9. Not sure. Probably play it like a 3rd preseason game? Be interesting to see what advice McD gets from all his confidants in the coaching ranks. Did Carolina ever have this situation when he was there?
  10. Just keep running him over when he does the obvious pick play. One of these days he won't get up. and that will be the end of that. the players police themselves.
  11. Yes he has a ways to go, but the team around him is very good, playing complimentary football and competing. He may always struggle with accuracy, but he is compensating for it to this point. He is a gamer. They are winning games. Go Bills.
  12. yeah you lose your starter at QB and the season usually goes to sh-t. no surprises there. steelers, lions, jags, all kaput bc of long term key injuries to key starters.... whatever. can't fire the players, so you fire the front office guys -- no cap hit there! whatever. turnovers lose games. key injuries to key starters lose seasons.
  13. exactly. Jordan can be more readily replaced. Guys like Star are few are far between. Scouts and teams know this. Will be an interesting test for Beane to handle this one, along with a few others (Milano, the O Line guys, etc. ) .. Next up Challenge for the McBeanes is can they hang on to their hand picked guys who have made the locker room as tight as it appears to be. Trust it. They will figure it out.
  14. Pro Bowl is a joke. The reason the Bills have 90m in cap space is they are a team, not a handful of $100m pro bowl shiny toys surrounded by low end talent. I'll take the super bowl over the pro bowl every day. and WNY will never be hailed, respected or even acknowledged by the TV ratings focused national media in our lifetiimes, so forget that. Just enjoy it. This is a special year free from injuries, team playing well enough win 2 out of every three games, seems like a great tight locker room. This doesn't come along very often for most teams. Sit back and enjoy.
  15. I just want consistency of scheme and terminology, which means you elevate a position coach to DC or OC if LF or BD get jobs as HC, which obviously you hope they can aspire to for the sake of their own careers. Maybe the fact that BD is from WNY will make some difference. Leslie F. has had a taste of the HC job, so he may be looking for another shot for sure.
  16. tremendous. thanks! seems to work down here in the D.C. area.. yay!
  17. Anyone know how to get this online? Without paying for it (seems ridiculous to pay for a radio feed) . I am losing my mind with the anti Bills national sports media bias. Plus I need a few "Carubba (sp?) Collision "ads to go with my bills experience. thanks
  18. yes, i need to start paying for that.. anyone know how to get it for free online.. ?? This media bias can only get worse from here on out, win or lose.
  19. Same. I said exactly the same , ok , well, 20 times. Media bias. Why the h didn't he just say it; " Duck Hodges is not an NFL quarterback". Man, I was literally turning the sound down between plays. the next guy that says "second playoff appearance this century", the set goes out the window. I miss Ian Eagle and the C team.
  20. Yeah, OP comparing the Bills to Florida and Dome teams with GOAT QBs is what's pathetic. Go get me some useful comparison data and come back. Everyone bitching after a loss and then buying SB tickets after a win. Dawson Knox and Motor are huge breaths of fresh air at those positions. They're rookies who will get even better at their positions. Go Beane. Great drafting, seven solid starters in 2 drafts. Coach 'em up McD. These are early days. Trust the Process.
  21. they were right with the anointed "hottest team in the NFL" right to the very last play. competing like crazy. And Allen played like crap. I am super encouraged.
  22. yep, everything being said about LJ now are the same things said about RGIII. and then he got blown up and it was all over. Neither RGIII nor LJ can be a star from the pocket. Josh can be a star from the pocket. LJ's "wildcat " days will come to an end sooner or later one way or another. Take my current backyard, the D.C. area. Kirk Cousins played smart and got a zillion $ contract. RGIII is effectively out of the game. Both drafted the same year, (by the same team, no less) just like JA and LJ. My guess is we will see the same result eventually.
  23. Yeah, just play the game. Everyone picked Cowboys over Bills as well. I am guessing they stack the box against Jackson, taking him away and making him a passer, where his weaker arm will struggle in 20+ mph winds. He's never played in WNY in December. Let's see how he is in those conditions against a pressure defense. Allen can throw the ball through the wind. Not sure LJ can. One of the reasons Allen was drafted by the Bills. We shall see. No more talk. Play the game. Let's see who comes out on top. I am sensing this is a special year where things are falling into place for the Bills. No injuries, weaker schedule, great unified players+coaches. You don't see these things come together in a single season. Watch and enjoy.
