Lots of bad blood re: Edmunds and Star on this board. Today's "locked on Bills" podcast has Joe Marino joined by BruceNolan talking Bills defense ; so much value there I won't repeat it all here. Marino is big on stats, Nolan is smart and has good takes. Listen to today (Monday). Some smart thinking here that will add a lot to this discussion. For tech phobs out there, just get Stitcher for your phone and search for "Locked on Bills". Not stumping for all of Marino or Nolan's stuff (some of their content is non football or stuff we already know), but this particular episode was excellent.

Non-football Football Sunday Dolphins @ Bills 1980 (2fer)
ProcessTruster replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think someone with a bottomless, ancient Bills game tape collection should put one of these up every Sunday. Very entertaining (esp one that has all the commercials recorded as well (hilarious). Would make the offseason more tolerable. Just any game, garden variety. Would be fun. -
What are the different types of contract adjustments?

Paying out the giant SB is what can change a great player into a fat, satisfied player. Beane has been wise to minimize this. -

Kareem Hunt: Cut candidate. Possible 2022 Bill?
ProcessTruster replied to filthymcnasty08's topic in The Stadium Wall
McD not putting a guy like that on his team -
yeah if they cut him, we sign him for whatever we want. that is the attraction.

I think Edmunds and Milano are perfect for a base nickel defense. Keep everything in front of you, deny the big play, run the width of the field, force all passes to the middle, do not attack , make them go the length of the field if they can. Drive fans crazy bc no splash plays. Then fans get pissed at the players, but it's the "boring" (from a watchers perspective) scheme they should be pissed at. Only KC, Brady and Rams (superior talent, O schemes) have really been able to (barely) beat it. There is no "middle linebacker" in this defense. It's a total team defense scheme, everyone does their part and it works. No one player is asked to dominate, quite the opposite. What this means is Edmunds doesn't get top LB $$, as he is not asked to be a dominator, just a piece of the puzzle on D. So there's that benefit. His agent will be just as pissed as fans are, bc the defensive scheme appears to limit what Edmunds is asked to do by design. -
this could be it for 33 yr old Taiwan Jones. Too bad the worthless ex ST coach didn't give him a shot at glory in the 13 seconds.

hey if Star plays well for 14-15 games this season (and he has to ability to do exactly that), all will be forgiven

Article - Six free agents Buffalo should target

can't imagine McBeanes are suddenly giving up on #1/#2 draft choices Basham, Groot and Epenesa to go chase an uber-expensive shiny object. -
JC Jackson not happy with Pats approach to him as a FA
ProcessTruster replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
We are already paying for one CB, let's not make it two. Bills don't play press man so top cover corners not a spending priority. As long as they are good athletes and great tacklers , its all good in this 5 cover-guy concept. Heck, the Dane Jacksons of the world can start and perform well in this particular concept. -
When do we start to re sign our free agents?

What would it take to get Chase Young?
ProcessTruster replied to Weatherman's topic in The Stadium Wall
I live in the DC area, and they are not dealing a guy who is their best player, and who is still on a cheap rookie contract. and of course Bills don't have the cap space to pay him ultimately anyway. So that's a dead duck. -
this stuff is pretty random, flavor of the day stuff. Pay no attention. I am more convinced than ever that once your team is in the top 5 or 6, getting to and winning the SB coming out of a single elimination tournament with a 100 variables in any particular year is pretty random and circumstantial. \\ Just keep building a great program, win and get as much home field as you can (a primary success variable) and you'll get there. go bills. trust the process.

Well, I think a dozen or two other GMs are saying the exact same thing. Accomplishing it is another matter given the shortage of experienced O Linemen in the NFL right now. Heck if Bungles are relying on Quinton Spain to handle Aaron Donald in SB crunch time, that tells you a lot about the shortage of O Line talent in the NFL. I'm sure Beane will do everything possible to improve the roster, as he does every year.

Rams - opening game of season Bills / Cowboys most likely
ProcessTruster replied to CorkScrewHill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yep. Bills typically have little primetime appeal to a national audience. But we will see. The KC game made the Bills a heck of a lot of fans. -
Bills coaches completely blow the 13 sec kickoff Mahomes inexplicably poops the bed in the 2nd half of the title game Bungles drop back to pass on 4th and a foot with multiple time outs left and 15 yards to go for a tying FG, after running over the Rams all night Boy, AFC teams totally unclutch in crunch time in this years playoffs. Congrats to the Rams.

what the h were the Bungles doing passing on the 4th and a foot with 2 timeouts left?? another coaching blunder; the playoffs are full of them this year
