If Frazier returns, how much will your enthusism die?
ProcessTruster replied to The Red King's topic in The Stadium Wall
zero. With Miller, DaQuan, Tre, Hyde back at 100%, with Elam as a starting corner , the defense (if it can stay healthy) will be better than its top 5 rank this past year. -
Should the Bills switch to a 3-4 defense?
ProcessTruster replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall
Since Frazier/McD are ok with D approach and since McD is not firing Frazier, that would involve firing Frazier, which means firing McD, which then means new HC replacing entire coaching staff and starting over. Is that what everyone wants? A 3-4 year re tool of the roster to fit the new coordinators schemes? -
With the addition of Von Miller, DaQuan Jones and the return of Jordan Phillips and Shaq Lawson , Beane finally had the defensive roster ready to win, . But Tre wasn't ready to go, Hyde, Miller, Jones and Phillips couldn't stay on the field for the tournament, so that was that for 2022. You can't be down 5 key starters and expect to beat the best. Fans on this board downplay the impact of key starter injuries too much. A teams health going into the tournament is probably the #1 variable. So, our defense was gutted for the playoffs, they lost a game and this board throws in the towel?

why bother. I just want to forget Brady.

Josh = Phil Rivers (just messenger)
ProcessTruster replied to Over 29 years of fanhood's topic in The Stadium Wall
whatever. I'm ready to play it back with the same f ing roster next year (with Crowder, Beas, Von Miller, 100% Tre, Micah, 100% Poyer, 100% SBrown, Hines, 100% Josh, Daquan/Oliver combo, etc etc. ). right now. McBeanes are killing it. Media will take their foot off the gas (less night games every possible day of the week) and we'll have a good draft and go from there. 2nd season uptick from Dorsey and off we go. Have some confidence. -
team was too banged up at key positions to get there this year. Beane made all the right moves (Von Miller, DaQuan Jones, Benford, Elam, Spencer Brown, etc) but their injuries, several near or actual tragedies, the insane 13 seconds-driven ridiculous game schedule , did a lot to slow the train). Give me our roster with Philly's lack of serious injury this year and they would have gone a lot farther
-
I hope so as well. Let the whole hype train just slow the heck down and let's get back to Sunday day ball. the 13 seconds game put them on the networks radar and the Cinci game took them off, hopefully.

PSA: This is Sean McDermott's defense, not Leslie Frazier's
ProcessTruster replied to QB Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
yep, play it back please. 55w 21L in 4 years just doesn't lie..... -
Titans are switching their field from grass to turf
ProcessTruster replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall
agreed. Bills are a lightweight, speed and quicks team up and down the lineup, which works for me, but doesn't really work to their advantage in WNY past Thanksgiving. Just doesn't. -
Boettger is another injury casualty who was really coming on b4 blowing the achilles at the end of last season. All reports are he is good to go and rehab was a big success. He'll be in the mix for a starting job next year as will Tommy Doyle. Plus Spencer Brown will have a normal offseason/OTA/camp for the first time. Not convinced the Bills don't have 2 or 3 guys coming back strong next year who we never saw at full strength (or at all ) this past season. Rough season for injuries for this team.

Dawkins, Saffold and Knox added to Pro Bowl
ProcessTruster replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
Wow, a new low, I don't even want to look at the pro bowl rosters.... -
Not having Jones or Miller vs Bengals (or any other top 10 team) was the kiss of death. Basically took the D line straight back to 2021. Too light and too slow. Beane fixed the problem, but the guys couldn't stay on the field. Just draft well and play it back next year. I'd like to see how the Bills actually do with the lack of injuries KC and Philly enjoyed this past season.
-
He did think of it. He signed DaQuan Jones, who is the same kind of player. He was super productive and brought a physical presence in the middle we haven't seen in 20 years. So what is the issue again?
-
agreed. This board overreacts to everything. the guy had f ing back f ing surgery , missing the entire off season, camp and pre season and now the folks on this board want to shoot him. sigh.

Where do the Bills need to improve the most?
ProcessTruster replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
Reducing turnovers. Period. Top 5 roster across the board. This is a very good football team who shot themselves in the foot at the execution level with turnovers. Beane will make moves to improve where he can afford it in the next couple months as usual. Cut this years turnovers in half and I'm not sure we aren't still watching Bills football right now. -
Probably. The offense will only be better in Dorsey's second year as OC. Hines/Cook will take over for Singletary, which is an upgrade. Shakir will take McKenzies spot plus Beane will draft a speedy WR, both upgrades. Spencer Brown will get the full offseason and camp he missed in 2022, won't be rehabbing from back surgery and be better. A lot depends on Von Miller's recovery speed, but assuming he and Micah Hyde will be full go, the D will be much better than what we saw for most of 2022, including the post season tournament. Elam and Benford will be ready to go full time. Edmunds will stay, Poyers nutty wife will make him go for the $$, so he's gone. The AFC East will be competitive, but I see the Bills being no less competitive for that title than they were this year. Why wouldn't they be? Beane has laid the foundation, will add to it. So just go play the games. This is a playoff team for years to come. Plus I'm not sure trying to catch rock hard footballs , slogging through snowy fields in playoff games in Orchard Park in f ing January are any advantage to this team at all the way it is constructed, so just get in the tournament and go from there.

Is it the drafting or the player development?
ProcessTruster replied to Low Positive's topic in The Stadium Wall
55 wins out of 76 games the last 4 seasons (13+ wins per season) says it's both, and it says he's doing both very well compared to the rest of the league. Next question? -
Should we trade Ed Oliver?
ProcessTruster replied to Floridagatorsbuffalobills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Great point, I would keep Oliver for year 5 and see what we have when he plays next to Jones and Miller for 10 -12 games. He was dominating when not being double teamed. Go back and re watch any games where Jones and Miller are also on the field. He is not a nose tackle ... we saw that when Star was out. He's a fast quick 3 tech who needs to be 1 on 1 to be effective. He'll light it up next year in a contract year and with Von and DaQuan hopefully on the field, he should have a good/great season. Let's get a great season out of him and try to get another SB run going next year. No rebuilding when you still have another year to get out of the guy. Draft his replacement #1 next year or grab a FA. Von Miller, Groot and DaQuan are the keys to this D Line, not Ed Oliver. But we can get one great contract year out of him and be better for it as a team for next years run. Kind of like Poyer... play out their contracts and replace them when its time. Why do you think Poyer was going all out to be on the field this year? Team loyalty? B-llSh-t. He was playing for his last NFL contract from whoever will give it to him. Oliver will do the same. -
51 wins and 22 losses last 4 years. Now that is reason for optimism. These guys win 5 for every 2 they lose. McBeanes are killing it. No random loss in a post season tournament changes that. Works for me. I can go to any game anywhere and I know this team will be competitive and is more likely than not to come out ahead. A lot better than the drought seasons. Winning is entertainment in pro sports, losing kills the entertainment value IMO. You can't get too excited about a single elimination playoff format. Seems like a random total crapshoot to me. The number 1 seeds in each conference should get the conference trophies IMO. After performing for 17 weeks, if I have the best record in my conference, I won the conference, period. Let the playoffs stand alone, just a tournament. The TV money and Ad revenue maximization has pumped the SB into what it is. Look at the Rams, one season they buy their way to win the tournament, next season, total suck. If you can basically buy the trophy one year, what value does it have? It's just a tournament trophy.
