  1. He won't be coming back from back surgery this off-season / season and will be fine. His rookie year was no fluke. Move on. I continue to be amazed at how little research people do before popping off about a player.
  2. Pretty simple math: Live in NYS and make the average NFLstarter pay, say $5m per year, liberal/welfare state like NY you pay 11% income tax, conservative well run state like Fla or Tx, you pay 0%. People say they make it up in real estate taxes? Nope: Erie country real estate taxes around 3% depending ; Dade County Fla, 1% So if you make $10m per year and have a $1m house (pretty typical NFL Free Agent signee) , if you play in Fla or Tx , you keep around $1.5m in cash each year in your pocket vs playing in WNY. I think the real driver is Rachel Bush, Poyer's wife. She seems like a total diva who probably can't stand it in WNY.
  3. a little overhyped? this board thinks the SB winner is awarded to the team with the highest number of weekly "power rankings "
  4. Lamar IMO is not getting any team to the promised land. Not ever. Good QB, blah blah, but, eg. RGIII was better than him when healthy.
  5. I'm old enough to the remember all the "fire Daboll" posts in 2021 as well. Rinse and repeat. Let it go. Josh will be healthy in 2023 , Dorsey will have learned and off we go. Trust the Process.
  6. Payton will be coaching Russ. Webb will be catching balls from Russ and throwing the ball back to him.
  7. If he goes to the Jets, that will make them a real threat for the division overnight. Breece Hall will bring the run game when he returns and all of a sudden the Jets are really for real.
  8. hard to imagine OBJ has much left. why keep gambling on huge contract shiny objects, failed this year with Von
  9. yes. the best QBs have the ball out in 2 seconds so pass rush is largely irrelevant in the playoffs. put the $$ into the Offense Von Miller was the type of Shiny Object which either wins you a SB or blows up in your face. That's why I don't like those kind of moves. This one blew up in Beane's face. Should have stuck to the process: draft, grow, re-sign, Now he is stuck with a $20+m annual cap hit for years for a guy whose main strength is probably now gone. Chiefs have 12, yes 12 draft picks this year. Bills have 6. Not sure Bills catch up to them any more. thanks Heath Farwell, we had a shot at the crown and you sh-t the bed when it mattered most.
  10. Since Bass can kick 4 out of 5 (5 out of 5?) out of the end zone anytime he wants, and the point of punt and kickoff returns is simply to get the ball safely into 17's hands, why would the Bills tie up 10m+ in Neal, Jones, Matakavich, et al? With Hines and Bass on the team, returns and kickoffs are non events. I would prefer to take that cap space, load up on offense and therefore punt very little, taking that risk off the table as well. Coaches talk all about the importance of special teams. With long ball kickers and solid return guys, not sure I'm buying it.
  11. Boettger and Brown will finally both be 100% Physically for 2023 and will both be starters on the right side. Problem solved. Doyle will be backup as he will be 100% phyically. Draft (and FA ) will provide needed depth or (hopefully ) a guard upgrade . really not that big a deal. get a pile of guys you really liked back from injury and move forward. this board forgets all about guys who are/were recovering for or are injured. weird.
  12. ok, so then time to blow it up and start over with an entirely new coaching staff? Is that what you want? Go back to suck for 2-3 years in Josh's prime while the roster is rebuilt in the image of the new HC and new OC/DC? Is that what you want?
  13. for a 55-21 team, this board certainly is an angry mob isn't it? must be the mid February blues.
  14. say good bye Taiwan Jones. Good job while you were here. Too bad Heath Farwell didn't give you a chance to run off some of the 13 seconds.
  15. No. Heath Farwell sh-t the bed and gave KC 13 seconds instead of like 6 or 7 by not doing his job. I could have won that game on D with only 7 seconds to give.
  16. Something in the 3rd or beyond. I personally do not want to pay Edmunds. Let him go. Spend his $$ on the offense.
  17. The right coach was fired after 13 seconds. Heath Farwell. D bag cost the organization the one real shot at the title during Josh's rookie deal. Now the roster gets pulled apart. Frazier, Rex Ryan, Bill Belichick, who cares? Not sure defense really matters as much any more in the NFL, relative to offense. If you can't put up 30+ in a playoff game, you are out, bc your post-wild card opponent will regardless of how terrific your defense or your DC is. The game has changed. In fact, if you can't score 30+, you may lose 3 out of 4 against any top 10 team in today's NFL going forward. Hell, the Lions rolled up the points on the Bills. Defense is the new RB1. Need one to keep the other team honest, but don't spend a lot of money on it. Put your $$ where the action is. Rex, Good luck keeping the AFC West teams below 30 points.
  18. Without DaQuan (which then limits Oliver) and Von Miller, Frazier would have been insane to play play man on a snowy, sloppy field with no pass rush . Cinci WRs (any WRs in fact) would have been open all day. Guess the D was pretty much screwed that day by the weather, a weakened secondary and not having the two FAs they got specifically for that game. Sounds like excuses, but backups kind of suck in today's NFL. Let's see how they play it back in 2023. I just wanna see my team with the guys they blew their salary cap on (Hyde, Miller, Jones, White) actually playing in the f ing game at 100%.
  19. I was at the game in the Meadowlands... Jets handled the Bills pretty well with Wilson playing just decently. Carr is better than that. No idea how they fit him under the cap, but ...
  20. Probably Jets. Makes too much sense. They would need to do a lot to get under the cap, but probably worth doing. The rest of that roster is too good to waste. AFC East will be the most competitive division in the NFL without question if this happens
  21. a full 3+ weeks after the fact and this board still sees the sky falling. new record for longevity. impressive.
  22. They should just hire some college guy and run a crazy college RPOoffense until Murray's contract is up or he gets injured and they are forced to get someone else . That franchise is f 'd into the next century.
  23. Resigning Crowder back for $1.5-2m solves this. His injury was devastating; he was really being counted on to take over the slot. He can be the Y. Done. Or Beas, bc Josh trusts him and he can be acquired cheap and he is healthy. Think Welker in his final years. Still works. Draft the Z this year. Outside quicks and separation. Diggs will be doubled until this is solved. Also, provide competition for Gabe , who they won't be offering another contract to in all likelihood. Not a big fan of mock drafts, but those mocking Jordan Addison to the Bills for the Z make ton of sense. The owner will be pre occupied with his wife's recovery for the foreseeable future (as he should be), so this franchise is in McBeane's hands whether the fan base likes it or not. They are 55 and 21 over the past 4 years so Pegs ain't messing with that.
  24. Wrong. Bills need to be healthy (physically and mentally) for the last half dozen games to have a chance. Hell they had a teammate f-ing die on the field right in front of them. They have the roster and the playmakers, and will of course draft O Line and WR this year and back off the defense emphasis (bc defense doesn't matter against the best teams) but hell, the key guys just can't get or stay on the f ing field. eg, the Crowder signing was inspired, and he looked great early, but he goes and breaks his ankle. gone. Can't fix that in - season. They go all in with Von; brilliant; but ooops... gone... can't fix that in-season. DaQuan pulls up lame for the most important game of the season and thereby takes Oliver out of the game as well. Can't fix that in-game. Losing Daboll was devastating... can't fix that in one season with a 1st year OC. Dorsey will be better in yr 2, just as Daboll was. Can't beat the best with 2nd stringers at vital positions, 1st yr OC in a league where offense is everything; leading the league in turnovers and guys laying on their deathbed. Winning 14 out of 18 games was quite an accomplishment. Sorry, there are no single factor silver bullets in the NFL. Lots of factors need to break right to have a championship season in a single elimination tournament format.
