  1. great point on the old defense. but "ole stubby" Ed ain't growin longer arms and he aint gettin any taller or heavier anytime soon
  2. well, he is now. we're stuck with lil' stubby for at least 3 more for sure
  3. I hope so. I have to believe Beane is done for this year. This roster is better than last year's. Time to go play some games.
  4. Barring a fresh set of injuries, O Line should be much better this year. Beane has done his job.
  5. exactly why you don't pay DHop. Josh is going to be good/great for 10 years. No more shiny, old, bangedup objects Beane. Keep building your roster. The SB chances will come. Trust the process.
  6. My understanding is that DHop cannot seperate, is pretty slow, is banged up and hardly ever practices. Has great hands and just wins at the catch point. But we already have a guy like that, Gabe Davis, on a much more favorable contract. Why do I want another , albeit better one , who will trash my salary cap.? He looks like another aging, injured shiny object looking to cash one more giant contract.
  7. I use NFL+ for the same reason and games are available on replay almost immediately after the live game finishes. The All-22 and the without commercials versions (watch the whole game in like 30 minutes, which is cool) take a longer to post to the site. Works for me, esp. since Bills on are national TV most of the time anyway. and you can watch other games in 30 minutes, basically take in the whole league at your leisure.
  8. the game evolved but he did not evolve with it, but 50 years will do that to you, so yeah time to say bye . enjoy a long retirement
  9. Given the criticality of the situation, I am pretty sure McD himself called for the deep but inbounds kickoff that Bass does so well, but Farwell did not, for some unknown reason, relay that call into Bass. Otherwise, if feel McD, given the kind of guy he is, would have called himself out for making a wrong call (kick thru endzone) , which he never has to date. This fact is significant. IMHO, McD protected Farwell and Farwell quietly moved on. McD making a wrong call doesn't fit the facts we have. Shame on the media for not investigating this to conclusion (someone is telling them to leave it alone, I am convinced).
  10. The top QBs will mainly tear through whatever D the Bills toss out there. And whatever D anyone else tosses out there. So yeah, the D will look "solid" and "tough" against the bottom 20 teams who have crappy QB play. But when the chips are down, the offense will need to score 30+ regardless of what the D looks like. Its a passing league now and against the top QBs, defense really doesn't matter nearly as much as how many points can you put up while your D tries to get maybe a couple stops each half. This is what the NFL has become at the highest levels. When you cannot touch the WRs or the QB, the quality of your defense loses a lot of its relevance IMHO.
  11. good point... I meant to say kick it in the field of play force them to return it. like Bass had been doing all season.. just a complete failure of coach to player communication. I still cannot understand why no one in the media has not pressed to get to the bottom of this.
  12. 13 is 1000% on d bag Heath Farwell for not getting the squib kick call in to Bass. Credit to McD for not throwing him under the bus publicly and letting him leave quietly.
  13. In today's National (Flag) Football League where you can't touch receivers or QBs , can't have enough WRs. So go get him. What the heck, if for no other reason, so KC doesn't get him
  14. I believe now that at the highest levels of NFL play (playoffs, for example), the rule changes related to defensive play have turned play at this level into something more like glorified flag football where offensive potency is far more important than the old mantras like "stopping the run and forcing them to pass,etc.". The rules now support a new reality that having the most potent passing offense will win out over most any other approach. The QB position is massively more critical to success than it ever was.
  15. Beane doing his job like he always has
  16. 55-21 the past 5 seasons. the hot seat? You are insane.
  17. Absolutely, that whole thing was BS
  18. can he not be in the AFC east please? the "punt g-d" is amazing. never seen anything like that one he popped in PS last year.
  19. I believe McD is at pretty high risk for skin cancer , hence the big hat. Thought I read that somewhere.
  20. I'm not. Just get someone in there who can cover. Against the top 5 teams, Josh will need to score 40+ even if f-ing Dick Butkus was MLB. Glad the offense is far better this year.
  21. and benefits the players big time. Amazon pays $1B per year for Thursdays. That money finds its way more or less directly into the salary cap , which goes straight to the players, who are happy to bear a bit of injury risk to make more $$. TV Fans get another day of prime time football every week. Amazon has another goodie to give away to their zillions of happy Prime customers (Prime rocks, BTW) . A small minority of stadium goers and non Prime customers are somewhat put out, but they are dwarfed by those that benefit. Pretty straightforward. Players happy, vast majority of fans happy, what's not to like.
