  1. I agree that the Bills depth was instrumental in them being a top 5 regular season team for the past several years, perhaps turning in the best regular season in the league. Having a top 5 QB is a huge factor as well. I am thoroughly enjoying the Bills beating the crap out of the rest of the league. "The Process" everyone on this board likes to sh-t on, ie, continual roster improvement 12 months a year with quality/high character guys has made it so. Beane and McD have made this happen, no one else. Unfortunately, the NFL is not like the Premier League where No. 1 in the regular season is No. 1, period. My point to the OP is that Depth doesn't mean much in the league/media-manufactured, single elimination tournament that is the NFL Playoffs. If you don't win the Super Bowl, so it goes, your season is a failure and your team and organization needs to "figure out what went wrong!" and change a bunch of sh-t. . What a bunch of BS. All kinds of random events can swing that one playoff game that you win or lose The real test of success in the NFL is how you come out of a 4+ month regular season playing 17 games. That test tells you who built the best organization and team , including the depth (as pointed out in the OP) needed to win when your starters are out. As Belichek always says, "you are what your record says you are" . He doesn't talk much about Super Bowl wins. He talks about preparation, winning, doing your job. The "process" that leads to winning, and yeah, maybe a couple tournament wins as well , to boot. The media asks "well, you didn't win the tournament, therefore something is wrong and needs to be fixed now!'. So many fans fall into this trap as well.
  2. These rankings don't mean much for the top 4-5 teams; any of them can come out on top of the other in a single 60 min game. Unfortunately in the media driven world, unless you win the season-ending tournament, the regular season doesn't mean much.
  3. plus you are starting over with an entirely new staff, new schemes and new players to fit those schemes. When you're 7 beers in, hard to think about that I guess.
  4. totally agreed. Terry has a personal situation I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. In fact, the last thing i want is Terry knee-jerking this stuff and screwing up the Bills as well. McBeanes have this thing on autopilot and Terry will let them run it. McBeanes have been and will always be a package deal, you get them both or you lose them both. Fan base needs to get over themselves. This team is killing it. Be happy people.
  5. pretty much. I am willing to go with that. we're in a better place than anyone predicted, so I am good. This entire board had this as a 're build' year with super low expectations. Now, its SB or fire the coach. Make up your minds, please. What a strange bunch.
  6. shocked I am. In WNY in mid-January? Impossible
  7. nah, no losing here. those tanking days are gone,
  8. actually benefits the Giants as the rookie salary will be less (for 4 years)
  9. boy I don't know about Von... guess i need to be patient
  10. is this the same crew that "legislated" the first Bills/Jets game? anyone know?
  11. gonna take a while to play this game.....
  12. Josh should have thrown it higher.
  13. Alec Anderson might just be my favorite player... just pancaked that guy
  14. my sense is any of them will put up a good fight, the game will be super competitive and Josh puts on the cape in the 4th Qtr and no 7th seed is beating that at the Ralph
  15. oh shut up
  16. agreed . to the OP, why the H would you draft Ladd if you have Shakir? Where do these idiot posts come from? Beane nailed the WR position in this draft, the kid just hasn't been on field enough to show it. Keep your pants on and 0 will show his stuff in due time.
  17. went back and watched the Karlos Williams documentary.. Wow , what a mess that guy turned into. yikes
  18. I am confident Beane will address the D Line once the 70m dead cap stranglehold is released after the season.
  19. you need to start your drinking in 4th Quarter when the Bills are comfortably in front. Beer rage is a terrible thing.
  20. yeah I managed to swap out Hubbard at the last minute... whew. had no idea, found out i don't know where....
  21. Glad my fam got to the Titans game this year. Weather was beee uuu tifull amazing how freakin bad the weather can be there between Halloween and Easter.
  22. IMO, with the Bills vulnerability on D, Josh will need to be Superman for a month for the Bills to win the SB this particular year. He can do it, but can he hold up for a month doing it. Hope so. Next year all the Diggs, Miller, etc monsterous salary cap baggage goes away and Beane will be able to do in FA much of what he wanted to do for this season. This season has already been a success in my book. Getting past Ravens, Chiefs, Lions on consecutive weeks? Hard to see that happening. Hope I am wrong.
  23. Josh will need to have the cape on full-time for this to happen. And that could happen. No sense holding back now.
