11/3/24 Game 9 GAMEDAY! Bills vs Dolphins 1st Half Game Thread

Those clear runs to the EZ is where loses focus just has to play in the moment... Not often, but so killer when it happens because it is usually a perfect call and TD all the way -

Jones is not playing as dominant as we need this year and they have yet to invest in an impact 1 tech to groom and every year we get powned by teams that can run. I think I saw him blocked out solo by their fullback on that series and that should be a huge mismatch. -

I think they get hurt more because they take on runners and blockers that freely get to our second level untouched with a head of steam. -

Our run defense has blown and given up chunks most of the year. Need better personnel or that Achilles is going to be exploited by the teams that can block...like the interior 3 of KC. Too light up front for years. Oliver gets upfield and gets washed out, and Jones gets the double and they are up to the 2nd level Need a better grouping/rotation to stop the early attempts to establish the run. -

That is why the Int stat alone is meaningless when used to e v a l the QB. One his receiver slips out of his break, the 2nd bounces off Coleman's hands. -

Prob better if Knox was in there blocking. Kincaid blocking DL not there yet. -
If I were your life GM the first challenge would be easy. I would have you save the time and aggravation, find a woman you can't stand, then buy her a house. Edwards broke the cardinal McD rule, don't air team things out on social media. Keep it in the building. So would not be surprised if they moved him. Rapp had to wait for his turn. Not sure what is holding Elam back, but if OBD needs to let Rasul walk next season then he could step in.

It sucks to be you Losers dressed in aqua blue With wins only two

Brady under fire for calling Josh a "spaz" on Sunday's broadcast...
WideNine replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
Society, driven by social media, has an auto-immune disorder. It is so sensitive that it attacks both harmful things and completely benign things. I took Brady's comment for the benign context and intent I am pretty sure he intended. So meh...nothing to see here folks... the virtual mobs can pack up the pitchforks and torches and move on. Allen did have sugar-high moments of being spastic and bailing on clean pockets and turning down easy throws...he usually found some path to redemption using his freakish athletic abilities extending plays, throwing off platform, or running through defenders. Perhaps only Bills fans knew or expected Allen to be raw coming into the league the way many analysts reacted It has been awesome watching him grow and develop before our eyes into a great QB. -
RIP our Bills Mafia brother. Hope our Bills bring it home this year for ya bud. 😇

Week 9 - Dolphins at Bills Game Week Thread

I want to see the Bills come out with that "Finish Them" mindset. You have a team that is on the ropes. We need the will and focus to deliver the knockout punch. One rep at a time, everyone focused on each rep, doing their 1/11th to execute and win their reps and the scoreboard will take care of itself. Leave no doubt. -

This. I expect Miami to come out swinging and definitely testing our safeties. We had a hard time with Achane moving the sticks for them the first time around so need a better plan for him. If we get up on them early I would just love a Miami team collapse and run for the bus, but we will see. I am almost concerned for Tua taking shots, but they keep bringing him back, and he keeps coming back so our defense just has to treat him like any other opposing QB that they need to plant in the turf. -
Never Followed PFF..After This, Never Will
WideNine replied to Rich Stadium Original's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think there is a big difference between pff analytics (the data they capture) and their "analyst" that draw conclusions and write articles and do podcasts. I am pretty sure they try to tweak the noses of Bills mafia with dumb takes to generate some buzz. Geno took sacks stumbled because he had his feet too close to his center's so he got stepped on, and threw a pick to a DL player. Other than that he was meh, but on target with most of his throws. He did not play a horrible game, but he also did not do enough to get them a win. Josh had his receiver slip out of his break so he threw the ball where he wasn't. The fumble, he just lost the handle on the wet ball in a downpour. Was not the best Allen game, but he was efficient, made key plays when we needed them, and he dug them out of a lot of long down and distance situations with the pre-snap penalties. And he got our team the win. Those pff clowns can hand out their awards for style points for whatever that's worth. -

QBs get mad when their streaks of passes sans interceptions get broken Some of us fossils remember Jim Kelly's long streak without interceptions when it was broken. He threw the interception to the Atlanta Falcons corner Anthony Phillips. Kelly was upset and took his anger out on Phillips. The tackle from Jimbo resulted in a cleanly broken leg for Phillips that dangled in a gruesome way while he was trying to run on it and then as he fell to the ground. They replayed it over and over in slow motion in a way I am not sure the league would do again. -

Yeah, I think that is where Coleman drove the guy he was blocking off the field and just about into our bench. There is some fight in that dog.😁 And I know I have not captioned that photo in the OP. Can't compete with some of the stuff you guys come up with - classic. My favorite so far is the Will Smith reference. -

Those long drives by the offense must have really been working their big DTs to frustration. The Bills pretty much dominated. Clean up the pre-snap penalties and who knows how much easier they would have sailed to the win? It was good to see they were able to overcome those, but against better competition... McD has said all the right things, but the mistakes keep coming. I love that we use more pre-snap motion, but our Bills are going to have to take some steps towards more being more disciplined executing those. I feel like across the league those have gone up with more calls for misalignments and illegal shifts or motion as they seem to be calling those tighter too. -

The reason they got the 15 which actually trumped another Bills penalty is that Hall took 2-3 steps and hit Allen helmet to helmet. Allen may have embellished or simply was unfazed (from some angles you can see his finger was pointing to a first down as he fell... which I thought was funny), but just a dumb penalty to take and super-obvious when a defender goes helmet to helmet on a QB well after the play. The Hawks had stopped us, and then the stuup move by Hall, so their veteran NT was a bit upset. -

Walker can be a home run back, but the Bills just didn't give him any space to get rolling. Snuffed out a lot of runs in the backfield and did a good job bracketing him with tacklers on the screens and dumps. Rasul made a great open field tackle early too. They played him well. -

I liked the opening defensive series. Seems they did a few things that may have been tendency-breakers stopping the run and covering the flats and screens better. Will be interested to see what some of the X's and O's guys come back with from the all-22 review. Was nice not seeing a team march down the field with scripted plays for a TD on their first possession and spotting them 7 before figuring things out. Will see if Babich did anything different. -

We keep getting the flag-happy refs too. However, constantly spotting teams 80-100 yards in penalties is unacceptable. Especially the pre-snap ones. Sloppy. -

Dang it. So close on so many plays to make a stop. Left the middle open a lot and giving Geno a bit too much time back there. Run D has been pretty good for the most part, don't like that we let this team work it's way down to the Red zone....how many red zone stops this game? Also damn lucky Seattle imploded so many times on the door step.... I will take it though. -

One would expect Seattle to force it and some turnovers here. -
Woody Johnson is taking a page out of the ol' Daniel Snyder book of how to ruin a franchise. Just love it when meddling owners take more direct control of our AFC East opponents. Sign every big name free agent you can find, hope by some obscure miracle that all those egos come together as a team and saddle your team with decades of dead cap. The Jets could very well be toast for a long time. We will see if the coaching carousel and big name signings continue through the off-season.

Defense: 1st Half vs 2nd Half - What is going on?
WideNine replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
They know the soft spots in our zones and most teams seem to have a good handle on our defensive tendencies and can script plays early that just move the chains over and over. Would like to see a bit more press coverage mixed in to disrupt the timing and a better job defending the flats and screens...just looking for some tendency-breakers... anything other than getting out-schemed early over and over Once we get up on teams we can dictate more where the ball can go and do a decent job pressuring teams into mistakes, but are in for a long rough game whenever we have played from behind. -
Collinsworth started the game slobbering all over Rogers and Devante...and now smoothly switches to polishing Tomlin and the Steelers.
