  1. That was a sweet catch and toe-drag. I like how our offense is evolving, but the dude can still ball.
  2. Was hoping his first would be a DT taking it to the house
  3. Took waaay too long to process that throw. Got to get rid of it or start running.
  4. Was just thinking that. Instead we locked up shank-o-matic to a decent deal that limits our options. Pretty sure Beane wishes he held off on inking that deal.
  5. I like the success they had running the ball and hitting their TEs. Two things Brady has been leaning into. Our OL is so much better in pass pro and run blocking... bodes well for our Bills. We do need to clean up how Torrence and McGovern communicate and hand off stunts. I trust Kromer will get that straightened out.
  6. Unfortunately no... and I was so hoping whiney Kermit would lose. A DB cannot play through a receiver to make a play on the ball. From the NFL rule book. Acts that are pass interference include, but are not limited to: Contact by a player who is not playing the ball that restricts the opponent’s opportunity to make the catch; Playing through the back of an opponent in an attempt to make a play on the ball;
  7. A little context for my response is that I was listening to Josh talk to Fitzmagic about that deep shot to MVS that did not connect. I think it was a fairly safe pass in that it is as safe as you get in the NFL with a single high safety trailing your receiver, and Allen said that it sailed on him because of the wind. I recall that is was a pretty windy game. Allen when he flat-out misses tends to berate himself and will say I missed him, or I have to make that throw. So, I will take it for what it probably should be and then there is the fact that he and MVS seemed to be on the exact same page on that come-back route. I think folks also forget how damn windy our stadium gets where we have had qbs come in and not throw a pass or some mainly attempt short ones when they have the wind at their back. Funny how accurate Allen gets in a dome, but I would think that knowing our winds could be an advantage for home games. Brady will have a different plan for those guys. We will see if we flip the script. Has to be a better performance than crossing the pond to play in the UK with little practice and the TZ difference. While the NFL let the Jags settle in over there to rest up and get acclimated.
  8. Von is playing better. Sure Murray trips... after Von pushes his RT into his lap driving him back with one arm extension so he can peel off and mop up Murray. Not sure any apologies are owed to Von as there are far more football players that do not come back from those injuries to play at a high level than those that do. Hope this season he continues to stay strong and prove all the doubters wrong. We need him.
  9. That whole stat is so overblown. We had so many tipped passes last year, either off the hands of receivers or at the line. Some of that may have been changes in Allen's throwing motion and likely bad muscle-memory from the injury to his throwing arm/elbow. A bit more elongated and telegraphed. That, and defenses were more inclined to contain him in the pocket and get into the throwing lanes. A few were just deep throw aways that amounted to arm punts, but if you just look at the number out of context it makes good fodder for tweets. It's one of those stats that taken alone is used to create a narrative or further a narrative. Although I do think his first full season wuth Dorsey he was struggling to read the field, was more reckless with the ball, and got away from some of the great throwing habits he had built up. I feel like he got back to working out those kinks and back to some better fundamentals this season. He also seems dialed into Brady's offense, knows where his reads and outlets are and is playing more in structure when the play is there. Life is never a journey in a straight line, right?
  10. I agree. No reason both parties cannot benefit from a move. Diggs will likely have a very good year as a featured receiver with the Texans. And the Bills will continue the process of becoming a more balanced multidimensional offense and Allen a more well-rounded QB able to work both sides of the sticks. I don't harbor any ill will towards Diggs and I can also say it was time to move on for both parties.
  11. It was a powder-puff hit on Tua and the idiot-machine for hot media takes kicks in. Plenty of articles I saw that say "vicious hit..." huh? Did they watch the game or replay? The fact that Damar basically cradled him to the ground and Tua still suffered a concussion is the concerning thing.
  12. Now. I am happy.
  13. He will push for reps for sure. Good to know we have some depth there in our back 7 with the way our LBs drop like flies each year.
  14. Bishop sighting.... and in a good way.
  15. Then pull Allen...right?
  16. I don't like this shell we go into on offense. I know it is a McD thing to be a good sport and not to run it up, but open up the playbook a bit and get some decent reps in. Especially with how poor theit backup is and backup OL.
  17. That was barely a tap and he was out of it. See that in hockey too, they just tend to happen easier each successive time. Tua needs to wear those big bubble helmets that came out this year for his own sake.
  18. I agree. He has played well, but we have some decent prospects in the pipeline and Beane has a history of over-paying with guaranteed money. One of the reasons we have so much dead cap. If Groot has the year we think he will have he will need to get paid to stay with us. Not a cap guy, but curious how much dead cap we will carry next year.
  19. Yet when asked a lot of defensive coordinators point to Detroit being one of the hardest teams to defend. Balanced and effective. Hard to lean into what you want to take away without giving something else up. I think that is where Brady wants to get the Bills - we can run it, we can hit the short passes and bubble screens, we can hit our RBs, we can hit the skinny posts with our TEs, we can take some deep shots, or Josh can tuck it and do his thing. Multi-dimensional. I think Samuel was supposed to be a key component of that, but that turf toe will likely take a while to heal and limit his role.
  20. Keep them coming Virgil. I may not always agree with every take but still enjoy them. I thought it was noticeable when our rotational DEs were in as they seemed to lose contain often. Groot was huge. Torrence looks out of shape and slow getting to his spots and playing over his base with balance/leverage. Took some costly penalties. I thought he was going to put in the work, but he has been struggling. I think AZ was doing things to take Kincaid away, rolling coverage his way, etc.. Just opened things up for the other receivers and Knox.
  21. A lot of different takes on that same play. The one angle I watched I thought the ball was a wounded duck - low, and behind him too. I respect Joe's take though and he also mentioned looking at it from a lot of different angles. Then you get to that point where folks can agree to disagree. It is just one play and there was nothing in his college tape that showed that Coleman was afraid of or avoided contact so I am just looking forward to seeing what kind of chemistry he and Josh can develop as they seemed to have some very good reps in camp.
  22. Goodness, all the fear and narratives off of a Worthy TD in preseason. I get it... KC is our new giant to slay now that the Goliath in NE that stood in our way for so long is no more. How many actually watched the play? Worthy lines up in the slot and perhaps Detroit was not expecting that or simply did not adjust, the slot defender was 10 yards off him and the safety that could have provided any help over top was flat-footed staring at nothing on the weak side of the KC formation. Blown coverage is a common thing in preseason and I cannot imagine any team playing him that way in the regular season. In fact, in a Detroit review of their DB play they said what folks have been saying about playing Worthy, ...Vildor was just as good, and he did a lot of that against the Chiefs version of Jameson Williams, first-round rookie Xavier Worthy. No. 29 was in perfect hip-to-hip stride with the speedy Worthy on a few routes, one of them forcing a throwaway by Carson Wentz. While he tends to be a little grabby, on this day Vildor did a good job of realizing that Worthy doesn’t handle contact well at all and a simple nudge would send him off track. Taron would have jammed him into next week and off his route and one would hope if we had one safety back there, he would not have taken himself so far out of position that he could provide zero deep help over top.
  23. They say Coleman has a high football IQ, and that pass had getting lit up in preseason written all over it. *** Listened to Marino today and agree it was a catchable ball the kid alligator-armed. Other than that, it is a lot of spin on the value of preseason and how hard players play for their roster spot. Perhaps those taken early do feel they have a leg up on the roster while those on the bubble will take more chances in preseason and is that wrong? Good question for the coaching staff. I agree that Allen would have tried to put a bit more heat on it, and put it where the kid would not have been so exposed and defenseless. It will be interesting to see how much the offense and receivers magically look better when Allen takes the field again. They do need a legit backup who can at least manage a game, especially with how well we can run the ball. They don't have to be Josh, but they need to be a bit quicker on the trigger. Have to be a few guys in street clothes out there better than what we have.
  24. Not this season, but perhaps next they need to move on. A history of Missing too much playing time and players generally don't become more resilient after they hit 30. They can probably show Spector the door too, but he will injure himself walking through it. Get by with what we have and beef up the vet depth to squeeze a season out of them and retool in the next draft.
