Bills Open With 4th Best Odds to Win Super Bowl Next Season
BBFL replied to Doc Brown's topic in The Stadium Wall
$100 on our boys & Josh winning MVP parlay sounds pretty solid. Agree on the Packers. That’s a reasonable bet I’m probably going to find myself taking also. -
We all just wanted the alliteration: Buffalo Bills’ Brian Brohm Becomes Bad.
-
It’s why they’re willing to share their cheeseburgers and nuggies with the guy…
-
Yeah, unless they are an absolute POS I don’t see why you devoid yourself of upper echelon talent. If you’re as good a man in terms of character you’d be willing to assert a better figure in that persons life and give them a second chance. People make mistakes and after all this is just a business where winning is your measuring stick. To your Spags point, the guy was getting it nerfed all game with the motions and pre-snap checks where they showed their hand too early. San Fran stopped that and tried going 1 on 1… that 3rd down fail in OT they let Chris Jones just run on by scot free into the backfield for a pressure. That’s a 3rd down conversion if not a TD to Jennings on the out route. Sometimes people and teams just put coach themselves… SF certainly did that in a multitude of ways last night. Offensively and defensively.
-
Your 3rd down part is the coaching point that’s overlooked. Chiefs were 1-5 on 3rd down @ Buffalo a few weeks ago… Their failed 3rd downs resulted in 2 FGs, a punt and a Knee to end the game. They had 8 drives. You only got them into a 3rd down 5 times… Buffalo were x3 that @ 14 3rd downs. The running absence from the 2nd to late 3rd is the biggest point but that zero blitz in OT by Wilks was a huge WTF also. Like we had with Josh for that period of time, same we saw with Brady and Manning recently and now Mahomes… When you all out blitz bad things happen.
-
It’s this. 100%. Someone pointed out to me that that perspective/narrative isn’t true when it absolutely is. Between the FG to start the 2nd quarter and the TD drive late in the 3rd into the 4th, they ran a total of 5 times…. FIVE. 6 if you include the one that was negated by a defensive penalty on KC. There were 7 drives in total meaning at the least you should be running it 7 times, let’s say 10 for parity that you attempt a run on 1st and 2nd down… The fact that they gave the leading rusher/OPOTY the ball only 3 times in that time frame is criminal… Exactly like the Baltimore Ravens… In the biggest game of their season T hey abandoned the identity what got them there. Absolutely mind boggling. People state that they couldn’t run on KC… While contextually that’s true, you take it with a grain of salt when you only give your guy 3 touches over 7 drives. Shannahan lost them the game… Seems to be the case very frequently when teams go up against KC and Reid… The coaching let’s them down. Dolphins, Bills, Ravens and now the 9ers had some form of error in a coaching stand point. If people don’t think coaching matters just as much as the QB, you’re delusional. 3 games in a row came down to it for the Chiefs.

It’s pointed out many-a-time but the irony behind the whole Chiefs dynasty and us not being able to get past them is that we traded them our pick which they used to draft Mahomes with… Not just ironic. Poetically ironic. Just like being unable to beat them when it matters… It’s no one’s fault but our own. 🤦♂️
-
But it was… They only rushed the ball 5 times between the FG to start the 2nd and TD in the start of the 4th… 3 of those 5 attempts were by McCaffrey. 1 by Deebo and the other by Mitchell. KC defended the run well but you don’t abandon it when it was your bread and butter to get you to the SB…

I don’t know if Mahomes turns the program around to the level Josh has. The difference of what Josh was asked to do I don’t know if Pat would have survived. I think we would end up with a Justin Herbert situation… Quality starter but never pushing the needle for the franchise. The situation you found was a guy who could sit and learn an offense system without being put into the spotlight and relied heavily upon from the get-go. Josh did. I mean he was sitting behind Saint Peterman for crying out loud and had to become the do it all with no adequate talent at the skill positions or run game.

A two game stretch for Lamar and Baltimore won him the award: 9ers & Miami where they blew the brakes off both of them. A two game stretch for Josh Allen and the Bills lost him the award: Cincinnati and Denver. Now while Josh didn’t play badly in those games the W/L is all that matters. You can pretty much guarantee it’s a player from a #1 seed unless they are unquestionably ahead of their peers in major statistics.
-
JFC I feel your pain. I’m a Knicks and Bills fan also… From the end of the 90s it was a rough ride for 20 years 😂
-
Biggest game of the season whilst the spotlight is the brightest it’s ever been on him in part to his girlfriend… Emotions got the better of him as he was wide open the play before, gets pulled and they turn the ball over. Don’t agree with it but understand his frustration. Sometimes we act or lash out in ways we probably wouldn’t with a second chance.
-
There was speculation about a proposed format where the top 12 teams moved into the playoffs a few years back… the only problem with that seeding is what’s the point of any conference or division period as they set the grounds for tie breakers. Something which has gotten many a team in the P/Os over the years… Top 4 teams get a bye. 5 plays 12, 6 vs. 11 and so on…
-
That can’t be real…?
-
Totally disagree. They are on one another’s levels. The difference is, and always will be, the coaching staff puts Mahomes in many more ways to be successful on the field.
-
The bigger question that needs to be asked is why they abandoned the run from the 2nd quarter until late in the 3rd… They win that game if they stuck with it. Baltimore did the same thing. An incredible rushing team just mailing it in even after immediate success…
-
Someone said “Winners win” in the GDT. Reid and Mahomes are exactly that unfortunately for us. An absolutely beatable team this year but somehow plodded along and won a SB. Sure there was some luck involved that went their way in this game but they executed when it mattered.
-
I really hope so brother… For Josh and all of us.
-
McDuffie or Jones. Glory goes to the QB 99.9% though.
-
Our resident snow shoveler? 🤔
-
They said the same thing about the Pats after their SB loss to the Giants and all the way up to the 2013 season when they couldn’t get past the AFCC… they then tore it up again and won 3 more SBs, could have been 4 of not for Big D Nick and the Philly Special. They won the SB after looking absolutely pedestrian at times this season with some Sub-Par Mahomes play in the Playoffs…
-
SF might be in trouble. Their only saving grace is they’re getting by with a QB on an absolute dirt cheap contract. Can’t pay that defense and all the weapons they have on offense whilst you’re continually trading away your high value draft picks.
-
They made a valid point, even if most don’t agree with it, that the defense needed a break as they just came off the field after getting carved up.
-
Honestly if that coach/QB combo stays intact they may end up with more SBs than Brady has altogether. 4 appearances and 3 titles in 6 years? Crazy.
-
9ers need a turnover.
